Laughter aside, I felt a little sad for her because it sounds like she was speaking from experience and maybe I'm wrong, but I also got the impression that her jealousy is an implicit way for her to put herself down. I don't think she should be jealous because a person (man or woman) shouldn't stop being in contact with some of his friends (whom he may have known for a long time) just because he's in a relationship. This kind of situation can also make a relationship toxic.

It's really interesting that most of the women said they wouldn't mind if their partner had female friends. In my experience, most Korean women (and men) are not at all comfortable with their partner hanging out with the opposite gender, at least one-on-one. Super frustrating for those of us who want to expand our social circles in Korea.

The contrast between interviews with Korean men and women on dating “foreigners,” is so drastically different! Granted it’s only a handful of people and doesn’t represent the whole. But the men seem less eager to date outside their culture, where as the women are more keen, or already trying. Such a contrast! Also interesting how they reference American actors, when (some) Westerner’s do the same in references K-Drama/ K-Pop stars! Great work ☺️

I think its because in heterosexual relationships the man does the pursuing and most Asian men are not as confident to pursue women they are not familiar with. Also most Asian men think western women are not as submissive as their women. Western women are more vocal and opinionated and most Asian men don't like that.

It's interesting hearing the woman say Koreans have softer features. My best friend is Chinese. He thinks American (or Western) features are soft - Black White Hispanic. But he feels Asian features are strong. And he feels that's why Asians in general can mix with anyone, but the children will still look Asian, because of the stronger features. The only features he feels are as strong as Asian is African.

Asians definitely have softer features which is an advantage for Asian women and a disadvantage for Asian men. That's why you see so many men with strong angular features in the media. It makes them more masculine, and therefore more desired by western women.
