Republic of Moldova is simply the eastern half of Romania's Moldova region (which is much larger), invaded by USSR in 1940, thus drawing Romania in WW2 on the Axis side. But the official language in Republic of Moldova is still Romanian! 82% of its population is Romanian and speaks Romanian as it's mother tongue. They study "ROMANIAN language and literature" and "History of ROMANIANS" as compulsory subjects in Moldovan schools. In fact, Principality of Moldova became in 1859 a founding member of Romania when it decided to unify with Wallachia, under a MOLDOVAN prince! About 50% of the population of Republic of Moldova have applied for and received Romanian citizenship, arguing that their forefathers have lost it unjustly during Soviet occupation. Not only does Republic of Moldova and Romania have the same flag, but they had the same anthem as well until 1994! So Republic of Moldova is for Romania what East Germany was for West Germany...

Moldavia first existed alone without you roms. Moldavia was even part of Russia before ww1. Some Moldavians sold the territory and gave them to roms. Romania took Moldavia for 3 decades. Romania was an ally of the n4zi along with Italy. Romanians are a gypsy folk. Romania is made from Moldavia and Hungary. The only country that is truly yours is actually Wallachia, this is the reason why your capital isn’t situated in Transylvania (Hungary) and Moldova ( Moldavia). I’m born in country Moldova but with Ukranian,Belarusian and Russian roots and I respect Moldavians. I feel bad for them when some of them speak about the European Union ( like what benefits are they going to get ? Higher salaries, better living? Are you stupid..watch most of the European countries leave their land. Most of European Union is cr4p. Only germanic countries are “ok” to live (economically) with France. Look at romania is literally a sh!th0le, Croatia entered recently the euro union and their cost of living has been raised but not the salaries. I don’t care if you took Moldavia for 3 decades 😆. You have to understand that Moldavia was created by Moldavians alone without anyone. The all first Alphabet of Moldavia was Cyrillic. True Moldavians are Slavic. Moldavia that at that time didn’t officially exist, was never part of the Roman Empire. But wallchia with Transylvania. The true Moldavians are not Latin people and that’s why they have Slavic face features and Romanians latin face features with darker eyes and hairs. A small part of country Moldova with Pridnestrovia was part of the Kievan Rus

The most Romanian (Moldavian) answer is: treaba lor (0:50) It is really part of the culture. People don't care what you wear, what you eat, which church you are going to, what language you speak at home with your family, if you have a rusty old Dacia or Lada or a new Porsche Panamera. When you ask them, what they think about their neighbour doing this or that, the answer is most of the time: treaba lor As long as you don't annoy anybody around you, they don't care what you do inside your four walls. They maybe don't agree with what their neighbour is doing, but they don't interfere or confront anybody. It's their business.

Im from US and this feels very similar to the attitudes of people from big cities about 10-20 years ago. Mostly neutral but somewhat supportive. Now people are just mostly supportive. Of course if you go to the countryside you will find people are still mostly neutral today, with some people who are against for religious reasons.

Thank you for sharing this video!!! I was very surprised positively about LGTB community in Moldova! I had a point of view even more conservative and homophobic society. This is good and a good step, even a little step. Except two of the interviewer, for religion make more homophobic, or not accept totally the homossexuality. Propaganda from America?? i was surprised, and this man telling "I´m a man, God gave me a penis between my legs for a woman, not for a man" this is nosense. Marriage? could be possible, adopt I wish is possible, but it´s more complicated. I think first of all information, and political laws protecting them , mentality can be changed over years, little by little. For example, in Spain where I live, homophobia in Spain were high, but little by little the situation changed in the 90´s 2000, since 2005 we can marriage and adopt a child. So, Moldova is very possible. :)

I think you should be able to visit :) Your documents should only really matter when you enter the country or book a hotel, and I don't think those people really care. Never would had I guessed that Moldova was more evolved than Russia. Used to think of Russia as rather European country. Didn't really followed much what happens inside Russia just assumed that. My eyes been opened during last year that Russia in terms of social development is few generations behind every single other country in Europe including those that belonged to USSR and it appears that almost majority of Russian people do not like the idea that others progress more fast than they are and would rather destroy someone than allow them to evolve.

Why duration of subtitles is so short? That's not enough time for me to read and understand them. And fading just obstructs, not helps... Better softsub then hardsub, they can be autotranslated to other languages. English is a national language - Esperanto is an international language.

It seems like Moldovan people are pretty much the same as others in western Europe - some for, some neutral, and a few against. Though most are tolerant (all countries have some bigoted people sadly) Hope Moldova can join the EU soon ♥️

Interesting questions and answare for the Moldovians. Orphans is made by men and women but orphans need someone to love them and take care of them. It is "enough" of orphans. Why not let LGBT, too, adopt orphans? When it comes to LGBT. Forget everything about religious perspective. Have faith in whatever but don't judge others. LGBT persons are everywhere in all aspects of life. Some are beloved grandma/grandpa, dad/mom, son, daughter, brother, sister, family, relative and friend. It could be some of your own and it could be you. We never know. Instead of judge, discriminate and do harm, be inclusive and respectful.

I know people who were raised as orphans, never adopted. I was raised by a single mother. I know my upbringing was less good than a 2 parent upbringing, that's scientifically proven as well. We don't have mentionable research on how same sex parents do raising children, but it can't be worse than being raised without parents. Orphans wouldn't mind, trust me.

I want to LGBT marry or adopt Mihai. Just for his soothing voice in Romanian. This religious woman will get the surprise of her life when one of her kids or grand-kids will be born queer. No psychologist will be able to change that situation since it's not a "brain disorder" as she was led to believe, but they may help her deal with it and educate her a bit... You should get a shot of both the interviewer, the cameraman and the video editor in front of the interview location at the beginning of the video, to give everyone proper credit.

Not sure of Putin he's got many gfs I don't have reason to believe that his sexuality is anywhere far off the standard middle. However I have a theory that has been abused as a child possibly raped through his butt. IMHO there are too many signs that his personality reflects childhood traumas. Now he attributes that towards LGBT even though LGBT are exactly community who does a lot useful work in helping to uncover and fix the issue of male kids being raped - often by bullies homophobes. He might feel insecure if people start talking more openly about it and someone finds out about it.
