As a Korean I can say the vast majority of Koreans respect Japanese and their culture (including their cuisine) - we do not resent Japanese citizens. I want to thank them for their support. We have a lot of commonalities. Any tensions are in the media and between our governments. Only once in my life was a Japanese person ever rude to me. I was watched a figure skating competition recently. She knew I was Korean because of my flag and cheering. She yelled at me (only) - I was shocked. I just knew in my gut it was because I was Korean and both countries have strong competitors. I have been to a lot of skating competitions and no one else has ever been rude to me. I however cheered all skaters (including the Japanese ones). Just an fyi baseball player Shohei Ohtani is extremely popular in Korea.

@skatingcanuck9837Ай бұрын
@@howoobi Firstly your thinking is extremely outdated and black and white. If you are going to argue something do some research, have some facts and evident to support your argument. The second largest group of tourists to Korea each year are Japanese. One of the largest groups of tourists do Japan is also Koreans. About 1 million Koreans are citizens or permanent residents of Japan (some which have been living there many generations). There are also Koreans from around the world who go to Japan to study or work and vice versa. There are lots of youtube videos of Koreans speaking in interviews who support my above argument. There are also companies that do business between the two countries. You do not speak for a country of 55 million people (plus millions around the world in the Korean diaspora) with baseless presumption. My Australian friends visited Korea last year and asked many locals on their feelings about the Japanese. Everyone said it was in the past and they just wanted to move on. It's 2024 and if you want to hold onto hate, resentment, and blame all Japanese people for things that happened when they probably weren't even alive you go right ahead. Do you also hate people who are mixed Korean/ Japanese? Many Koreans have Korean/ Japanese restaurants - do you hate them too? Anger can be a cancer. Just don't try to speak for millions of us Koreans who choose progress.
