I came from 6000+ hours of Overwatch, so I already had really good tracking when I started. I really just had to learn the game sens and movement techs. Overwatch is unironically a great aim trainer, as your uptime on aiming is damn near constant.

Very informative video - I think another benefit of aimtrainers over ingame training situations (like R5) is that the scenarios can be way more challenging for the same kind of aim technique needed - where you might be limited with the ingame features - which makes improvement visible way faster ingame in my opinion

Using variety is a tip that I underutilize. I thought that would be incompatible with building consistency. Recently, I changed from a cloth Steelseries mousepad to a glass Padsmith mousepad. I felt like some of my favorite content creators in a few games last night when I was tracking with the alternator and the R-99.

I just think its my bad genetics & bad luck that’s why i cant get better. 8 years playing fps on roller my aim has been the problem since day 1 plus i have probably close to 1000 hours aim training while everyone else is a aiming pro within their first 100 hours with no practice at all. 95% of my deaths are bc of bad aim, i could say its the only reason i die bc bad aim = bad decisions

been playing on the same sens for ages, i have the same problem with every sens ive used. hardware, this is probably why, im playing on controller which is obviously bad hardware but unfortunately console doesnt have mnk support

I wonder if there's something like aimlabs or whatever those things are for console I spend most of my time in firing range, and the rest of it in Mixtape (used to be spent in Arenas, which I definitely felt was more on my skill level and more manageable, but there have been some begrudging benefits to mixtape) And while I'm slowly making progress in my aim and movement, it doesn't all translate to live combat (especially in such a frantic mode as mixtape where half of my engagements start with 3 ppl shooting me in the back; and even then almost none of my combat experience in mixtape translates well to BR either) I do appreciate the customization given in the firing range now, but the dummies in full combat or in all their strafing modes just don't come close to how real players move or shoot regardless of skill level-- I mean, none of the dummies can slide jump for one thing and they either get a hemlok or a peacekeeper I hope some day I can afford to play on PC-- especially MnK-- and experience movement maps and aim training and not having one input be responsible for reloading, opening doors and interacting, and looting

I work at a 9-5 office that has very high mouse sensitivity so every time i play apex it most of the time desensitized me from my actual sensitivity

This doesn't impact your performance, besides moving your mouse on a 2d desktop versus a 3d plane is completely different, so don't worry about your sens varying there.

Honest question: what sens should I play in this game? my val is 400dpi 0.93 and with that sens my click timing senarios are over diamond however in apex with the fov of 102 or 110 I find it so difficult to adjust to anything. I have over 4000hours in apex and I've tried from 400dpi 2.0 to 5.2 sens. Never felt at home. btw I have almost 1000hours in aim trainers but high scores do not transition to game due to my movement focused gameplay. (I've tried sever mice and mousepads as well)

When you play on mouse and keyboard you must perfect so many things like posture, mouse, mouse grip, mouse pad , keyboard, flicking and tracking still you'll one clipped by aim assist.

Yeah, a lot of players (including pros) and mechanically skilled players use unoptimal practice methods. Were they to adopt better practice methods, it would certainly help them too, whether it be to keep their skills sharp, target weaknesses, and/or simply enhance their strengths.

@@miclwastaken i agree with u! but i do think that aim training when used well can be applicable at much higher tiers of aim trainer skill too. viscose is a good example, she was noticing benefits to her tracking even up to astra, but the way she approaches training isn't as score-focused as most kovaaks grinders. there are some skills you can only learn by playing the game though for sure. that said, there are also no games in which that level of mechanical excellence is really relevant these days :< apex is the closest (and we have amazing players like strafingflame who has a good amount of time in kvks), but it's held back by the BR format and prevalence of controllers. i bet if a game where mechanical skill was very relevant came out, we'd see a lot more aim trainer players grinding, learning the mechanics, and being among the top players.

time spent playing does not equate to aim skill, its more to do with individual iq, speed of thought etc. if a average bad player spent 1 million hours playing, he will never be as good as acue, for example.

They also claimed that 60 tick servers are technically possible, but refrain from implementing them because it would require a more intense server upkeep and doesn't have an immediate monitary recompense, but rather a general improvement of player experience.

if you want to improve just buy a 240hz monitor it makes you better in an instant. i have a 144z monitor with terible ghosting on overdrive mode and i see an after image of the object behing the object. it make thing harder to hit. i know a person who has teriible aiming machenics and that guy hit pasu master score in like 3 days and he has never aim trained in his life while it took me like 600 hours it took him like 20 hours. a good setup is a great way to lvl up yourgame. there are people who cannot beat me in any scenario in any aimtrainer but they have 240hz system and they just are more consistent becaues of the gear. I am writing this comment so that if anyone who is reading this if you have a low end pc and you think you can just grind an aimtrainer and reach your way to the top then good luck.

A higher refresh monitor indeed enhances your experience, but if you want to improve you should practice. Upgrading your gear doesn't improve your skill, it just makes it easier to perform better on.

you can't have terrible aiming mechanics and hit a master pasu score, your friend is goated!! i see peripherals like expensive instruments: they can make a bad player sound better and raise the ceiling of a good player, but a skilled player on a cheap instrument will still sound miles better than a less skilled player on an expensive one. it's not just an instant cheat code to good aim

@@pinguefy he just did it in pasu in other scenarios he was not that good for example static tasks.. I played on 240hz for a day and nearly broke all my scores which I was not able to break for weeks..

It's possible to have good aim without aim training (though it takes thousands of hours). Aim training & Mechanics training are tools to isolate and improve all aspects of your aim/mechanics faster than you would by simply playing the game (or keep your aim sharp). We also emphasize this in the video. As for it just being a video game, and being a waste of time, that is entirely up to the person! Everyone has a difference perspective on video games, and how they like to spend their time.

the point is that he had thousands of hours of fps experience prior to apex, but if apex is your first fps and you enjoy building mechanics, it's gonna be rough. not everyone enjoys fpses in the same way; if someone enjoys shooting at dots then i don't see why we would disparage that

@@SwiftStrafes Because thats's how it is. Controller, while it may be a bit tougher to do anything more than average movement, aiming is much easier, especially in close range. There's a reason why pro's use controllers in tournaments.
