Yeap, I agree. Just get out there. It can be easy to become a gearaholic. But, you just need some basics. We camped many years with ground tents and still do sometimes depending on what we are doing.

I don't miss the ground tent, but it was better than the blanket under stars on the ground. Lol.

@@Trailtec4x4 True! Our ground tent is not the "accommodation" we would first choose; however, there are some places you cannot camp without one. Like on the beach with the ocean out of your "front door" at False Cape State Park. Always good to hold on to that ground tent and keep it in your gear/camping arsenal.
