When I was at school, I took my studies for granted, you know, several times I didn't appreciate anything because I thought that was a normal and boring thing with no importance at all. I did consider it as a minor thing and I hardly ever thought it over. Now I have a completely different perspective about it because studying is too essential and natural for having a wonderful future, being able to stand out with any ability we have, and being mindful to draw up real goals we can accomplish.

This is my little stoy. When I was living in Korea, there was no balcony in my place. So I had to put the laundry rack in the living room near the windows and hang up the laundry. But it took up lots of space and I needed to open and close it over and over. It was such a hassle. Thus when we decided to move to Singapore, one of the priorities for the house was a balcony. When I got a house with a balcony, I really apprrciate it and enjoyed. But as time went on, I might have forgotten and took it for granted. Now I am living in my second house where there is no balcony again. I realized again "Oh, balcony is not something that I shouldn't have taken for granted!!!!!" Guys, don't forget that even small open space to hang up the laundry under the sun is pretty important, if you are looking for any place to live now. Haha;; And on another note, this is to Vanessa, I am really grateful for you letting me have fully understood the meaning of "take it for granted". I recalled I was just memorizing the meaning of it back in high school not knowing how or where to use it. Your story is pretty helpful enough to find out the real meaning of it. Thanks.

For me, Taken for granted has two meanings : 1. to simply believe something without proof; ex: All their mother says is taken for granted by the children. 2. to know that something happens without effort. Ex: The Oscar Award was not taken for granted by Leonardo di Caprio, and he said that we have to stop the global warming because the Earth should not be taken for granted either. What do you think vanessa? Can it be accepted?
