Sarah sarah sarah T yes it is everywhere, it was considered "The Miracle Mineral" because of its many uses and fireproof at that, so it was just that it just had one major problem that was unknown for a long time then known for a long time with the big industry lying and covering up the truth that major problem is it causes scar tissue and popcorn lung and causes and very horrible lung cancer. But don't worry too much about it you are not going to get cancer just but being around it in your house if it's undisturbed or even if you do somehow breathe in a micro amount of dust once it takes alot of exposure to develop these issues basically people who work around it, probably the biggest concern to a homeowner would be messing around with the old loose fill insulation in attics and walls the stuff that looks like gold colored kitty litter.

Yes this stuff is everywhere, I come across it all the time in my job. Unfortunately there's such little help available regarding this and considering its a big killer you'd think authorities would remove it for free. No instead companys charge stupid money and so it's often removed and disposed of incorrectly.
@MsBongkong2 жыл бұрын
Why would you expect the authorities to remove something, which as you said is everywhere, for nothing? Do you think they have a magic money tree or do you just want to double your tax bill? There's a reason why the removal companies charge high rates. But if you want it done cheap I'm sure you'll find someone willing to just rip it out and throw it in a ditch.

Hi Lucille, If you think a property may contain asbestos, you can have a survey conducted, which should only cost a few hundred pounds and will help you determine if there is any asbestos present and what the best management plan (removal, encapsulation, etc.) would be. You can find out some more information about asbestos surveys here: www.asbestosremovalists.co.uk/asbestos-survey/

@tyremanguitars9 ай бұрын
there's a way you can test if it's lime plaster, break a bit off and put it in some white wine vinegar, it'll fizz if it is lime, it was common to still use lime plasters in the 20s and 30s and horse hair was to prevent it from cracking, it's very safe, just avoid breathing in the dust but otherwise it's completely natural material.

BULLY_HUNTER_69 You won't have asbestosis yet. It takes decades before it becomes damaging. There's a lot of debate about how much exposure can be fatal, but this much is true: It only takes one needle of asbestos getting in your lungs, and you'll eventually have asbestosis.
