I'm currently studying the differences of local stars (especially blue hot stars) and whether there is a sliver of a chance life could be on a surrounding super earth. I know I'm not an expert, but as a layman, I'm shocked at how once you can kind of get what's happening up there, it's not all that difficult to understand. Thanks bro.

These whistler mode waves sound very much like the sounds frozen lakes sometimes emit - and for the same reason as well (cracking sounds in ice also get distorted like this because higher frequencies of sound travel faster in ice).

I live in the woodlands, bush Alaska. I love listening to the sunrise. The birds sing, but so does the vegetation. Once in a while we will hear the moose bugling to each other. Sometimes a wolf will join the quire. The trees snap & moan at 1st light after a cold night. The lifting of the chill will most always stir the leaves causing them to play as if they are natures rattles contributing their musical sound too. Ive called this the symphony of nature. I love hearing it. Its best just right before sun rise. This video has allowed me to hear a part of the orchestra that surly contributes to The Symphony of Nature that I can not hear with the naked ear. Thank you.

The universe is a symphony! Some of these sounds were similar to the song of humpback whales, I noticed. It never fails to amaze me how much more we've learned so far from these "sounds" regarding the nature of the cosmos, than from what we can actually see. Just imagine an enormous series of receivers someday being built, say, around Mars. The possibilities! Thank you, Alex!

Get one of those laser solar sails that can propel a spacecraft to 10% of light speed, over time, and using enough energy. Aim it at Alpha Centauri. That means a close fly-by in around 40 years. At that speed there's no real way to slow down. It will buzz past Alpha Centauri at crazy speed. It would need special instruments to de-blueshift everything in order to get a picture. Maybe a year or three before it gets there, it can start spitting out slightly slower probes. I'd want at least 10 probes. When the main probe gets there, the remaining probes could be staggered back another day or two each. That would mean about 20 days of individual probes traveling through the system. That would give us a better time-lapse of what's going on than what we saw from the Pluto probe. Give the final probe an atomic reverse-thruster. By then the sensors and computers will have been able to determine the most interesting planet to explore. They use atomic thrust to slow the probe down to a somewhat manageable speed, and have the thing aim for the outer atmosphere of an interesting planet. Maybe two in a row if you can calculate the angle well enough. Of course this would require really good local computers, since there's no way to get an Earth signal there in time. The individual probes would be sending out a constant stream of data, which when put back together, could give us a pretty good 3-D time lapse of Alpha Centauri and maybe some upper atmosphere sound readings. If it took 40 years to get there, we would be getting pictures back in about 44 years.

Nope! That would be all the life on Earth that is doing the hissing. Earth does not care what we do to it. WE CAN"T DO ANYTHING TO EARTH. WHATEVER WE DO, WE DO IT TO OURSELVES.
