Repenting of the sin can be added as an evaluation (Acts 2:36-38 ESV). Knowing every sin we do, if we are true christians we need to be reminded of the Cruxifiction of Jesus daily. Every nail, whip, thorn, punch, kick, stab, all the gruelsome torture that Christ experienced was because of our sin. I think another follow-up vid would help in-terms of God’s Holiness, which I believe encompasses all? Or you may have tried adding answering introductory questions (1.)Why does God hate Sin? (2)Why do we keep on sinning? Then laying the 5 points you have may have been a helpful structure about the topic. Might be because of the time format of the vlog? But yeah over all the topic is good. Thank you Ptr. Joe for your thoughts in simplifiying it.

Praise God for this platform of helping us to understand more about sin. I remembered once our pastor said sin is anything that misses the target, that target is the Lord Jesus Christ. Anything that you will allow to be more important than the Lord, that is considered a sin. Upon dwelling on this we see how truly we are hopeless and such a mess but only Jesus Christ who can save us! Grace and Mercy! Thank you Pastor Joe for this!

Sin is Idolatry... not just missing the mark - 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” That is why we cling to Christ for our Righteousness, for every second counts. Read Jonathan Edwards and John Owen. Thanks for your Vlog Pastor.

Thank you for quoting the Holy Scriptures-it means you know what the "Ground of Truth" is ., that is the BIBLE-it's the inspired, absolute Word of God (2 Tim 3:16) that comes from outside of time & history. With that said, do we really need to "UPDATE" anything like sin?
@ikawbameron50363 жыл бұрын
Why talk about sin? Under grace we cannot sin - 1 John 3:9 (NKJV or KJV only). Can we not stop analyzing sin (category, trajectory, toxity, idolatry) when Jesus said once we are born again we cannot sin? John 8:34-36. Under grace, more sin more grace - Roman's 5:20. By talking about sin, we are empowering the law. The weapon (sting) of death is sin and the power of sin is the Law. 1 Corinthians 15:56. Christ is the end of the law Roman's 10:4. He put us all under grace and not under the law so we have no law to break (sin) . Romans 4:15 When we talk about sin we are bringing the law alive again. We know that a dead person cannot sin anymore Romans 6:7. Are you dead or alive? We died with Christ. Paul described this teaching about the law of sin and death as elementary teaching (Hebrew 6:1-6) and we are crufying Jesus again and we are putting him into shame when in fact he triump on the cross. Colossians 2:15. So why not talk about his triump over sin? More sin more Grace - Roman's 5:20. I would rather share the grace of God and see the result rather than make them again conscious (romans 3:20) of their Sin (the law of sin and death). Share only the Grace of God and it will teach us to say no to sin. Titus 2:11-12 all the best and have a God's Day ahead.

Westminster Shorter Catechism What is sin? Sin is any want of conformity unto, or trangression of, the law of God. The only way to understand sin is to understand the law of God. There is no updated definition of sin, but only the definition of the Bible.

“whatever is not from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23) is that faith is a receiving of God in Christ as our Savior, and Lord, and supreme Treasure. Which means that actions which don’t come from faith, don’t come from treasuring God over all things. And that’s what sin is - not treasuring God above all things, preferring anything more than God. -Pastor John P

The desire to eat the fruit that God had forbidden Adam and Eve to eat…. Why do they have that desire to begin with? Default lang ba nila yun? Human nature or the fabric of one’s being Pastor Joe? Because Adam and Eve had the desire to go against God initially, hindi ba brokenness na yun kahit hindi pa kinakain yung fruit? Is that part of our make up already? Can we really do things right naturally or we are really prone to be selfish and prideful. Desire pa lang, wala pa yung acting on the sin - rebellion na yun , trajectory to doing the act of sin. My point is, God made us that way kung baga. Not our fault dapat????So ano yung panalo natin? We still cant do it on our own to make good choices kung may default na tayo to sin to begin with. Wala pa yung act may brokenness na. Why even have that tree there? And the snake? Its to test? Or partna talaga toh ng story. Hindi toh accident? As a Christian, i struggle with this story of Adam and Eve. Better pa yata to not understand. I just get tempted to question God and I will still not get answers naman or my human brain and heart will not comprehend unless God Himself reveals it to me. Just venting Pastor Joe. 😅 I wonder what Pastors like you struggle with understanding in the Bible. God bless you Pastor Joe.
