It would be incredible to see F1 at that track, but it's only Grade 3, because F1 cars would be, basically, too fast for it. I guess the land area a building takes is WAAAAAAY lower than a circuit, with all the accommodations. Add to this the construction process and costs. Laying down asphalt isn't quite cheap either. After the building is done, your costs go down to pratically zero, while the circuit must expend huge amounts of money with personel on a race day. The building maintenance cost is nowhere near comparable to the costs of maintaining a track. I think you're optimistic about the 'achievability' of constructing a grade-1 circuit.

Is “The circuit de la Sarthe” Ok for Formula 1? It would be better than Paul Ricard but ,is it suitable?

No way lol

No, its full of public roads and its only used as a one off for the WEC, like Monaco for F1. We can race there, but it's too long for F1 and the gearboxes would be under immense pressure at the Mulsanne straight

@louisjoubert68483 жыл бұрын
@@Xariama Thank you fot that, honestly I'd say it could be able to handle a modern GP, the only possible exceptions being that it may need more grand stands and facilities such as toilets. The circuit recently got redone, including the road surface and all the apexes etc.

"There are standards that need to be met." Tell that to Monaco. The only reason that dinosaur is on the schedule is because of the gambling money it brings in, otherwise no one would watch that 70 lap parade.

Well, I actually love the challenge drivers have to take on to drive on that very Old-School circuit on nowadays' cars... Still, it offers plenty technical and agonistic talking points.

You sort of blew by the pit lane requirements. Tiny little pit boxes like we have in the U.S. for NASCAR and IndyCars won't cut it -- the facilities have to be fit for the kings of the F1 contingency, not to mention there has to be room for those teams "mobile buildings", or whatever you call them.

You are either 12 or are sick if your definition of "Fun" is 1000hp cars flying around poorly maintained surfaces with haybales as barriers. These grading systems exist for a reason, things can go wrong really fast in motorsports and when they do, they ain't fun, it's better to be safe then sorry.

How long would it take to binge watch the entirety of F1, from 1970 to the present day? (Only counting Pre-Season Testing, Practice, Qualifying and Grand Prix... Not the various side shows.)

My wish is that Anderstorp (Swedish Grand Prix) gets added to the calander. Sadly tho. I think a lot of work is needed to be done around the track to make it F1 ready. The track hasn't been used as an F1 track since 1978 or something. The track is still getting used for other things. so it isn't abandoned.
