The first TWEWY game was made by the team behind KH:CoM so its arguable if the first game would even be made, but NEO(and the anime by extent) exclusively exists because of Nomura's influence he garnered in SE from being the director of the KH series as well as the influx of popularity the series garnered from their DDD cameo.

After some deep research, apparently Square didnt even have the rights to use michael mouse in the game, so the entire thing has kind of been in legal trouble limbo for the past 2 decades, that alongside with it blatantly ripping off this obscure game called The World Ends with You, even to the point of also having collectable journal entries obviously ripping off the Fret Reports, so i think it’s safe to say this series is canned after such a complicated history

Oh wow, it's so cool to finally see someone talking about kingdom hearts! I grew up with this game, my whole family, especially my mom and brother really loved it and helped me through it. We always wanted a sequel but it was just wishful thinking. It's crazy that Disney and Squenix seem to be finally acknowledging it again though, it would be crazy if we got another game. Just sad my mom wouldn't be around to see it... I wonder if that "final mix" thing ever got a fan made english patch, maybe I could try that. Since, realistically we're never getting a sequel, it could be cool to experience something from my childhood in a new way.

The multi-million dollar franchise Phantom Dust just got it's 13th installment: Phantom Dust - Re:Dusted || Prelude Final Prologue 4 and received rave reviews. Interesting concept. I just replayed Kingdom Hearts again. I've probably replayed this game more than any other. There is something about it, where it doesn't feel like it ever got a sequel. The other games are so different in style and writing, that you'd almost think they are different games. KH is kind of an interesting series because it was one of the first that taught me you're not always going to get the sequel you want. Sometimes you'll get too many.

Been playing the series for the first time over the last month actually, and despite the flaws in the gameplay here and there, I'm absolutely loving it. Beat DDD a couple of days ago (the TWEWY stuff brought a huge smile to my face) and beat 0.2 yesterday. Probably starting 3 within the next day or two. That said though, I'd say it's far from forgotten lol, plenty still talk about it.

Kingdom hearts 358/2 days is the first ever kingdom hearts game I have ever play and I always will remember how the fandom of kingdom hearts did have such nice golden stuff. That were on youtube back when I remember seeing stuff like let's plays of it or music videos of it or even cosplay videos of it since I know a channel that is called cosplay 101 That was a channel of group of girls making videos together that hasn't been active for so long and I even remember seeing like comic dubs of kingdom hearts comics before. And I swear I did remember seeing a kingdom hearts video of someone tries to make the whole movie of shaun of the dead but with kingdom hearts cutscenes! that doesn't Seem to exist on youtube since when every time I try to search kingdom hearts shaun of the dead part 1 I get nothing I don't know if the user took it down or youtube themselves. Took it down but at least there are some other old kingdom hearts videos I have seen before from the old days of youtube still exist from seeing how golden it's fandom is While I do see kingdom hearts to be such a cool game franchise.

F.Y.I.....this isn't a FORGOTTEN series. It's alive and well. I don't know how old you are, I'm 34. Been with this franchise probably way before you even heard Kingdom hearts. This is a thriving and on going series. It was NEVER forgotten to begin with.
