The thing to remember re: what you said about TWEWY's history is that most of those releases were under Matsuda, the last Square Enix CEO. Based on what Takashi Kiryu has been saying about wanting Square to renew its focus on high-profile AAA releases, I wouldn't be surprised if something like TWEWY was less likely to get a new entry. I hope I'm wrong, of course.

This is a very good point! The new president is a somewhat grey area. I should have focused on it more in the video but as I alluded to, I like to believe that any games helmed by the likes of Nomura or Yoko Taro are likely safe to continue being developed even if they don't fit within the AAA banner. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. - Random

Forgive me for mentioning this, but a relevant example of an MC with glasses is Persona 5's Ren Amamiya, also known as Joker. Why do I bring him up ? Well, his glasses are cosmetic. He wears them to look less threatening, and they act as a stand-in for his mask, a way to hide his true self. I think that's fascinating ! As a character-focused artist myself, I'm super excited to see new designs from the TWEWY franchise. Glasses are a great accessory to use symbolically !

Nomura did a Interview about KH4 and stated that Quadratum is not the Shibuya of TWEWY or the Shibuya Neko mentions in Dream Drop Distance. But I definitely see reference to TWEWY in KH4.

I don't have any proof of this other than "it happened once it can happen again" but i think that we are almost surely gonna get twewy content in kh4. maybe not to to the same degree as 3d but i just feel like it would be the exact thing the dev team would want to do (plus it would be cool to see new 3d models that don't look terrifying!) edit: I wrote this before i watched the whole video btw :p

Thoughts on the new interview that mentioned retirement? It's imaginable someone else could make it but harder to believe someone else has the right influence to get SquareEnix to do it.

Interesting question! While Nomura is TWEWY's biggest advocate, he is not the one making the games (the TWEWY figurehead is Tatsuya Kando). The rest of TWEWY's team are just as passionate for the series as Nomura and many of them have been directly trained by Nomura. It's far more likely for TWEWY to be handed off to a new creative producer than it would for (as an example) Kingdom Hearts to be handed to a new director once Nomura leaves.

@BlackJupiter Thank you for your thoughts! That's a really good point, that it's more likely to change hands. Keeps the hope of more alive haha. There's a sort of allure to how *little* we ultimately know about some of the overarching mythos and story, but at the same time the bits and teases in Neo left me wanting more so badly.

The fact they're doing a collab with a "random" game 3 years later gives me all the hope I need to keep believing. Thats a bigger deal than anyone is giving credit for. There's more hope for a TWEWY 3 at this point than there was for TWEWY 2, as each year passing that hope going down and then guess what, TWEWY 2 still happened. And NEO left a lot of doors open for the future. The only thing that worries me is the recent report of "140 million worth of games cancelled" with the possibility of TWEWY 3 being one of them. Square Enix makes A LOT of games though. But your video says it all

To be honest, I don't want another TWEWY game, yet... I'd love the upcoming one to be a VR game where you use your hands and motion to make pin attacks and such but that need developing in the technology itself, so I wish for a new game but not soon.

If they end up making a NEO remaster/port to promote a newer game as they had done with Final Remix (unlikely imo, especially if the next game is largely disconnected) they could have the Shinjuku storyline in a New Day like scenario, just spitballing. For KH4 I always thought a Minamimoto secret boss was a cool idea, especially considering Another Day in NEO. I'm at least certain we'll get the CAT Graffiti. I've locked that in for a while now.

Hopefully they release a NEO: Final Mix - with the following changes: New Playable characters: Rhyme and Shiki (I would include Kanon, but they should add her as a full reaper like they intended. Plus, the 2 mentioned would be nostalgia for the older players) Backstory into the events in Shinjuku (Even if it's in a "Backstory" option) New Bosses: Joshua (If they don't make him playable) and Haz Kanon as a reaper, as they had originally intended (I also mentioned that as to the reason I wouldn't want her as a playable character) *Feel free to add on, i've got nothin' - I just quoted what I said a while back*

If Square wanted to snub TWEWY they easily could have. KH4 is set in Shibuya so they could have easily had Kingdom Hearts in the crossover instead but they chose TWEWY instead.
