Coming late to the party, I have to explain Belgium. Yes, it had the highest official registered covid cases in the world, but this was mainly due to its more fair way of registration through its health system. Most countries only registered cases that were proven 100 percent to be caused by covid, while Belgium also registered cases where the doctors of the deceased suspected Covid to be the cause.
@iwankazlow2268 Жыл бұрын
Not the only country which did that. Doctors have to write a cause of death, so in a lot of places, when the patient had covid that was the easy way. No need to scan for anything else. Same happens with elderly. Cannot write he "just died because he was 102 years old". So in flu season it's flu, in other cases the doctors look at the medical history and write something from the complications of those, and done.
@sidneyjupiter4389 Жыл бұрын
in Russia too
@sanderdeboer6034 Жыл бұрын
@@iwankazlow2268 True, but in most countries with much lower cases reported the what we call ‘oversterfte’ or extra deaths when compared to the same period last year(s) was much higher. If you would include this ‘oversterfte’ figures would be very similar to those in Belgium. Otherwise it is hard to explain the huge difference between Belgium and its neighboring countries. The population density and makeup is almost the same, as is the level of care and quality of the healthcare system. So if these factors are mostly the same the way the figures are produced seems to be the culprit.

As a Dane, I can confirm that it's hard to make friends in Denmark, but it's not because we hate other people. Introversion is just very, VERY widespread, and people will more often than not choose not to talk to others simply because they're afraid there's going to be akward silence making it all uncomfortable and embarassing. Combine that with easy access to entertainment on the internet and most people just rarely ever bother to get to know others.

They also avoid donating money and will prefer to give food, clothes etc. The reason for this is that they don't trust that the money given to NGOS and NPOs go to people in need. I've been to Andorra, and I'll tell you why you are wrong about the smoking statistics. The number you cited isn't how much Andorrans smoke, but how many cigarettes are sold per time unit per capita. Andorra, just like many other tiny countries (San Marino, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco...) profits greatly from having much lower taxes on things like cigarettes, alcohol, gasoline etc., because the inhabitants of the neighbor more populous countries (in this case Spain and France) are frequently visiting there and buying these things in bulk. You'd see huge supermarkets in Andorra la Vella full of these products especially for these customers, which probably contribute more revenue than all the inhabitants of Andorra combined.
