I wish I had watched this before I got married lol would have saved me a whole lot of drama. I think there need to be classes for men and women alike at the masjid. It needs to educate them on marriage in islam and how to be successful in it. By the way the point about the two of u being forgiving is a VERY strong point. It's truly the secret to a long marriage. Jazak Allah khayr sister, may Allah reward u for ur efforts X

Very helpful, masha'Allah. Another tip is to not baby/spoil your husband. In the beginning of your marriage, you may want to be sweet and do everything for your husband down to buttering his toast however I advise that you don't because before long you will tire from having to do EVERYTHING for him. From the beginning, try to get him to pick up after himself and help you with small things so that later down the road, you do not become overwhelmed with being a one woman show.. Just some advice ❤ may Allah give barakat in all our marriages. Ameen.

MsA sister this is great advice! I am a western girl who married a middle eastern man from my parents homeland. He is a great Muslim but we do have cultural clashes. Having this independent women mindset that is bashed into our brains doesn’t work in marriage. At first I used to get so offended when he wouldn’t want me to run my errands alone. I was like what the heck is this? I don’t need a babysitter! But after learning to communicate properly and most importantly respectfully I found that he was just worried that people would treat me badly or rip me off. Shaytan found many ways to come between us especially in the begging. I didn’t marry to find someone to make me happy or complete me, I married because that’s what my parents wanted and my husband is a good man. Of course I wish he wasn’t as strict as maybe a western Muslim man would have been but he has darastically improved my deen as you mentioned. And to be honest I was quite lost until I met him and he is teaching me to read quaran and we pray together. So for the most part it’s a major adjustment for me because bad habits are sooooo hard to break! And I know I haven’t been the best muslimah. As for the domestication and learning to maintain a home this slapped me in the face so hard I cried after the first week because I was so tired. I called my mom to tell her she is an amazing women. Girls you need to practice doing laundry, cooking your own meals, but most importantly before marriage make sure you tell your man how you will split the household chores! When I told mine that I need help after marriage, he laughed and said that he didn’t get married to wash dishes and I was so angry! Both parties must understand that we share the same living space and it must be a certain level of cleanliness. It doesn’t make a brother less of a man if he sees the dishes pulling up and decides to wash them. Also please be cognizant of the amount of time you spend on your phones, keep technology out of the bed room and charge them in another room. Use an alarm clock to wake up and appreciate each other after a long and tiring day at night. I have plenty of advice but for now these are my key points. Salam alikum wa rahmatu allah wa barakatu. ❤️😊

93lookatmenow Mashallah Amazing advice sister, may Allah reward you and continue to bless and protect your marriage, ameen. X
@93lookatmenow7 жыл бұрын
yeah another good piece of advice is not to share everything, especially in social media. When I was engaged my now husband went onto my phone to check my Facebook. At the time i didn't care because i have nothing to hide. However, I never did that to him, and later i realized it was a major invasion of privacy. I know some people say or believe your husband is your best friend but there are things you may or may not want to share with him. I'm not saying be a sneaky person, but there needs to be limits drawn in the sand. He later asked me to take off all my male colleagues from FB because he believed it was not relevant to have them since i graduated university. At the time I was naive and thought, yeah he's right. I don't actually talk to these people. But DO NOT DO THAT ever. The idea is you are a good person, and isA may allah protect us but you won't do haram with any of these people. Because after that I found he asked me to take down my profile picture because he didn't want people to see my face. And at the time, i agreed as well. The moral of the story is i didn't draw any lines in the sand and so he kept taking it a step further. When I finally had enough I added back some male colleague and place a profile pic. He was so angry and we had an argument. I told him that he is not invited to manage my social media, and I don't do the same thing to him. He has female collegues on his FB. He tried to give me this BS on male vs female. I just ignored it, but we ended up not speaking to one another for three days! This brings me to the next point. Everyone expresses there anger in different ways. For me when I am angry or very upset I bottle my feelings and hold resentment, my husband yells and then ignores me. So at this point no matter how you argue dont be afraid to just CRY. If your man feels any empathy at all he will calm down and listen. That's when i told him how he needs to behave when we disagree. It is very cruel to ignore a person especially when you see each other for many hours in the day. I told him, when you ignore me i will find other people to talk too. So you will push me to talk to people that shouldn't know our issues because you are ignoring me. Don't let things linger. Just air it out and be done, and move on. Really FORGIVE. Also girls we are used to having our parents guide us, and give us there opinions. Hamdulliah we are so lucky to have them, but you need to learn to have your own opinions and most importantly learn to just say NO. The reason behind saying NO is so that you don't let your husband get used to the fact that you are complacent and agree to everything. He will stop asking for your opinion or advise. If he knows that you don't always agree than he will think twice and say "i need to discuss with my wife".

I’ve been married for 6 months and it’s been really HARD but the key is communicating and expressing concerns and being open to those concerns. My husband and I lived two completely different lives I lived in the US while he lived in Qatar his whole life so although it was a shock at first and hard we have learned to express and communicate are concerns rather then get angry or upset about it.

And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated. And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease. - Quran 65:4 (Sahih International Translation). Would you let a 51 yr old man marry your 6 yr old child? Would you allow a 54 yr old man rape your 9 yr old Daughter? Would you marry a 6yr old child and rape her when she was 9yrs old? For the love God Muslims, read your Quran and Haddiths. Allah said he only made it look like Jesus was crucified, for Allah is the best of decievers. So either way he's a deciever. And to decieve is to be dishonest. Lie. Allah, the Best Deceiver (Qur'an 3:54) Your god Admits he's a liar. Father of all lies. Satan! Mohammed was a war mongering murdering pedophile rapist who forced a 6yr old Aisha into marriage when he was 50yrs old and raped her when she was 9yrs old. Aishas father didn't even approve of Mohammed marrying Aisha. A 6yr old cannot consent to marriage and a 9yr old cannot consent to sex. “The Prophet [ﷺ] married Aisha when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old.” - The revered Sahih al-Bukhari, 5134; Book 67, Hadith 70. Narrated 'Urwa: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Abu Bakr for `Aisha's hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said "But I am your brother." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You are my brother in Allah's religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry." And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Surah 3:151: "We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve (all non-Muslims) …" Surah 2:191: "And kill them (non-Muslims) wherever you find them … kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers (non-Muslims)." Surah 9:5: "Then kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush …" Apostasy is a Hudood crime. Execution is traditional punishment for both genders of Muslim apostates. Ja'fari - Male apostates must be executed, while a female apostate must be held in solitary confinement till she repents and returns to Islam. Jihad is not self defense. It's offensive. An Islamic army spreading Islam with the sword conquering new lands. Otherwise they never would have stayed in one place instead of spreading outwards. It's common sense. And Islam is a direct attack on Christianity. That's why it was created. To appose Christianity. It's Satan's Army.

Salams sister! The points you have made in this video are all valid points .I would just like to add that men who are immature and not able to take the responsibility (provide for a wife and children) should not get married because that is a condition that Allah has placed upon them as stated in the Quran. Also, a big reason for the high divorce rate is infedelity so ladies it is really important to select a God fearing and righteous husband who will remain chaste in a marriage. Always verify details and information that you know about a potential spouse particularly on online matrimonial websites because often people are not who they say they are so be cautious and careful.

MashaAllah I agree with all the points you’ve highlighted to make the marriage work. Although I’m not married, I’d also like to add the importance of having shared values, morals and beliefs. It’s soooo important to discuss this sort of stuff before marriage like lifestyle choices because there really is no point marrying someone who thinks it’s acceptable when you think it’s haram like clubbing, smoking and drugs etc. It’s not any women’s job to change and neither it’s his. Its important to accept him for who he truly is. It’s also important to acknowledge and ask the question if he’s a good father role model. Would you want your child to look up to him? If he has more bad habits or character than the good, then perhaps this guy isn’t the right guy for you. And also, trust - such an important foundation for marriage. Without trust and openness, there really isn’t much point in a relationship leaving it really unhealthy because after all, no other relationship will ever come close between a husband and a wife. It’s really deep stuff this you know. May Allah grant us good loving spouses. Ameen!

I watched your video a year ago that was when I was not married and I can still say this video is beautiful and worth it because it reminds me of having straight to forgive and have straight to give compassion to your other. I am re watching your video to remind myself what marriage can be and what I need to do to make my marriage better. I am not married but one day I will be and when that day comes I will look back to this video and keep it in mind because everything you said will help me in the long haul. Thank you for sharing your honest truth and one thing I can relate is the abiya habit, I used to wear it a lot and feel ready for prayer but now I don’t do that I changed my habits. Forgiveness is hard to give depending how hurt you feel but once you remind yourself about Allah and how fast you would want to be forgiven by him then it just changes your mindset and warms your heart. And another thing is “ I don’t think someone should stay in a marriage that only becomes more miserable sometimes divorce is needed but other times divorce is unnecessary for example “your husband got angry and you got angry about something and instead of talking about it he decides to divorce because of selfish reasons. I wish I can tell you more… thank you for this video sister. ❤

Brilliant video! As a woman married 10 years I can 100% agree. A couple of other things I must stress are patience! Patience, patience, patience and patience. And when you think you've ran out you will need patience! I cannot stress this point enough. Little things like picking up socks putting your things away as well as your spouses, you many think oh that's not a big deal but my sister in Islam is right in saying if you don't learn to forgive and compromise you'll find it's the little things that will build up and cause anger and arguments. Everyones patience runs out as some point. I have 0% patience compared to my husband who has 100% patience and believe me you can still knock heads. Without lifelong patience there is no marriage. Marriage will be over before you can blink. You must always remind yourself to forgive others in the way you would like Allah to forgive you and show patience in the way you want Allah to show you. I am not saying I have mastered this. I am very very very far away from mastering this but I have to keep reminding myself that Allah is all seeing all hearing and that our goal in life is to please Allah. Everything we go through is a test. We must pass our test with flying colours to please Our Creator. May Allah guide us all, bless us all and bestow upon us His never ending mercy and forgiveness InshaAllah! 🙏 May we all meet in Jannah Ameen! 🙏 🙏 🙏 Salam to all.

Everything was on point. I loved the part about expectations when it comes to marriage, I think as young girls your conditioned to think love is like it is in the movies, so perfect with grand gestures of romance and fairytale like. To be honest if you go into marriage thinking like that you’ll just be disappointed. Love is different for everyone but I find loving a man is about getting through your troubles, not wanting to give up, being selfless and wanting the best from and out of each other. Lots of great tips overall through the vid. Subscribing now 😍

for me it was even better than the movies. it’s not about the big gestures or expensive gifts and wedding. it’s about the small things and how he does everything to make me happy even if it’s hard for him and he’s so gentle with me. and ever since i’ve been with him i’ve been happy and i have no anxiety anymore

As salaam alaikum sister, I just started watching your channel today and I already love it. You give some great advice to our ummah May Allah SWT be pleased with you and send you baraka, Ameen. One of the most important things in a marriage is COMMUNICATION!!!!! You have to communicate with your spouse no matter how upset you are with them. I used to be so upset that I would just ignore my husband but doing that will not get you anywhere! You have to communicate in the beginning so that it doesn’t worsen the situation. Also, don’t be mean to your spouse and always respect them. Marriage is so different from being single. You can’t get into a marriage and expect things to be the same as if you were single. You should always obey your husband as long as he is following the right path of Muhammad SAW.
