My 7 year old just asked me 'what are air quotes?', and you gave the perfect answer, thank you!

Impressed that your seven year old has heard of air quotes. When I seven, I was busy throwing sticks at a brick wall and eating cheap mac and cheese.

Yuki! Hello! Thanks for your comment and support! We miss you, too. Haha, I know exactly what you mean!! Actually, I am "studying" right now at Starbucks with Peita....but really, I am just browsing Instagram. Wishing you all the best! We hope Slovakia is treating you well!
Haha! I am glad that you can understand Friends for their tricky nuances. I love the scene with Ross and Joey. Thank you for your support! You are awesome.

In the US it reveals semiliteracy. Don't make the mistake of thinking their use is acceptable.

Spanish speakers also use air quotes, is not something specific from English

That's great to know :) Nice to know that we have some common ground. It's not used in some cultures, so that is why we wanted to introduce it. In Japan, it is not used at all and can cause confusion.

The important thing is. I definitely came here to study English. I can't concentrate because she's so pretty. I only looked at her face for two minutes. This is your fault.

If you have to use your fingers to get something across to someone you either don’t know what you are talking about or you have poor communication skills, it’s like slang, this type of communication is for people who are deaf or dumb, best to leave it to the teachers of people with the particular handicap or don’t use it at all because it looks ridiculous.
