Carpenter never wanted sequels, he always wanted to do an anthology from the start. They forced him to make the second one as a sequel because the first did well, but when he was finally able to move on with the third, it "bombed" because everybody expected more Michael Meyers. That's exactly what he was worried about and why he didn't want the second to be about Michael Meyers. The corporation's drive for profit destroyed his drive for art. 🤦

Genuinely love the OG's by John and i never really considered this really part of the series since of course it didn't have Michael, etc etc however over the years giving this movie another go it's genuinely great and much of what you said resonates with my sentiments alike, as always, stellar job Pim!

The thing a lot of people seem to miss nowadays when discussing scariest/deadliest horror movie killers; Cochran has quite possibly the highest body count of any horror movie villain ever.

He'd at the very least be on the top ten list, for sure!

That you have to specify "78" because a quarter of the movies in the franchise have the exact same title is another example of how Hollywood's avarice overrides creativity in order to try to "cash in" on name. 😒

Halloween, as someone who comes from a place where we celebrate carnival (from November to February) where people get dressed as they like Halloween is soo strange to me.
@searchingfororion Жыл бұрын
From your description alone, Carnival seems like "adult" Halloween combined with Mardi gras - only *four months* long? That sounds AMAZING! Where are you from? The closest I can think of is "Carnaval" in South America (forgive me for not remembering the country/countries I'm a product of the US education system therefore any knowledge of what's outside our borders has to be obtained via independent research.)
@michimatsch5862 Жыл бұрын
@@searchingfororion Germany. Southern Germany specifically. Of course people are not permanently partying but the different groups (people can form any kinda of group and have them registered) become active at the 11th of November and will keep showing up or organise events with other groups. My brother-in-law is in one and he is often away twice a week, haha. The main month for "Karneval" is however February where you get marches, places turning into carnival towns (like on a fair, I expect), and the like. I'd only ever take part in marching bands, joining some marches or just randomly marching through the city playing tunes while we go from location to location.

@@michimatsch5862 Well yes but in my case there's not much of an excuse, I used to be fluent enough to have conversational German (and I'm still the person who laughs tremendously at unsubtitled dialogue in a mainstream film, but then subsequently has to explain to everyone else in the room why I'm laughing and why there weren't subtitles.)

I know this is an 'older' video but I hope you'll read this because it's a "glitch" you may want to be aware of. I swear (rather, I know) I was subscribed, but recently realized you weren't in my feed. I had to search you so I can do so again. This isn't an isolated incident. *Many* "small" creators have been mentioning that followers discovered that YT had unsubscribed them. In one case, someone suggested that those whom had subscribed in the past double check that were still, and if not - please do so. When their metrics came in the subscription count had nearly tripled. (Because the "glitch" had been doing this at such a subtle amount over time they simply thought the channel had stagnated.) I know that was a bit lengthy, but since I can't *financially* contribute toward your success, I thought the *least* I could do was tell you that the infamous "glitch" had made it to your channel which is why I'm so late to the party.
@pimscrypt Жыл бұрын
I truly appreciate the concern. I'm not sure if the problem is that people have been unsubscribed without knowing in this case, since I've steadily gotten more subscribers since the video came out. However, I one hundred percent agree that KZbin hasn't been notifying people about this one, for whatever reason. It sucks, because I have next to no power to fight this. It also frightens me that this might happen again as soon as I release my next video. I obviously could try and notify people in the next one, but if KZbin isn't pushing the video the majority of those who actively follow me won't know about it anyway.
@searchingfororion Жыл бұрын
@@pimscrypt Firstly, it's kind of you to read my lengthy comment and reply. I appreciate it. I say "glitch" in quotation marks because it only seems to happen to a very specific (🏳️🌈) cluster of channel creators. The reason that the individual I mentioned was able to bring it up and have the results that they did was because they do have a rather rigorous upload schedule and therefore vids were showing up on the homepage for those that had been bumped unknowingly. I know that you aren't in a in situation to do anything like that at this point, but perhaps you could make a short? Some of the most commonly suggested ones to me are just segments of other videos that I've already seen and then maybe a caption/title or something to make it relevant on it's own. But maybe that would be a way for you to do a "Do you know where *your* subscription is?" moment between now and the massive undertaking you have set ahead of you. As I mentioned, I don't have any coin (I literally started last month in the negative by triple figures) but I'm always happy to "pay it forward" any way that I can. Even if it's just brainstorming.
