While never achieving supergroup status, Atlantic Starr was one of the most consistently successful - and underrated - soul bands of the 80s and early 90s, with a collection of memorable songs that still sound good today.

My favorite Atlantic Starr song is All in the name of Love. Those brothers were so dirty towards Barbara and their previous group members. It is crazy how you think these bands/groups have so much love between each other and truly don't behind the scenes.

Atlantic Starr was one of those bands that gravitated me listening to older R&B. I was a child in their heyday and my father used to always play their records. Always, MasterPiece, Circles, Am I Dreaming is another one I love from them. Sharon Bryant was supreme with the harmonies and vocals.

Between A&M/Warner, Atlantic Starr has been my favorite R&B/Soul/Funk group of all time. Hits like When Love Calls, Circles, Am I Dreaming, Let's get Closer, Love Me Down, Second to None, Send For Me, and Touch a 4 Leaf Clover (the Sharon Bryant era) But then when 1985's As the band turns album turned out being gold Barbara Weathers brought her voice to Silver Shadow, Secret Lovers and If Your Heart Isn't It Then leaving A&M they went into Warner to land their platinum r&b/pop hit Always.

as a teen during teen nights at the club, i remember always getting heavy rotation whenever there was a slow jam intermission, people quickly pouring out onto the dance floor whenever it came on. god i miss those times
