What Happened To Aroden? Pathfinder Lore

The legend of Aroden seems to be critical to the rise of modern humanity in Golarian but much of the world lore just name-drops and moves on. I've had trouble putting Aroden into context with the history and current events of the campaign setting. Thanks for this video it helps!

While not an outright evil deity, I do think Aroden was a deeply flawed individual who did enough bad things that I do not mourn his passing. I especially see a lot of parallels between Aroden and the Azlanti Star Empire. The attitude of human superiority, that self-righteous belief that they are right and acting in the interests of the greater good... beneath all the accomplishments of old Azlant, its legacy is one to study but not celebrate.

Edit: Oh! Searching Azlanti(I typed the original message out but suddenly wasn't confident that there actually was a video for Starfinder) I noticed the second video is about their main Deity in Starfinder! He probably has not, at least not the Pantheon that the Azlanti of Pathfinder worshipped, though also maybe not of the Pantheon the Azlanti of Starfinder worship! Do they actually have Deities that aren't just themselves? The Azlanti of Starfinder are Human Supremacists so they may not worship Deitites. I haven't dug into lore of either game too much so I don't for sure! I DO know that he DOES have a video on the channel about the Azlanti of Starfinder, it probably has a little information about their Deities they worship, if they do worship any Deities.

NoNat had a video a couple weeks ago, it goes pretty much the same! Different people aren't going to somehow make the lore Paizo wrote different. Though they MAY be able to explain it in a manner that you understand better. I guess there's bits and pieces that one person might get wrong slightly because of how they read it but the videos I can specifically recall about Aroden both say the same thing, more or less!

@@labibsaud8064 Join the club! Though, like the Gap(that people complain ad nauseam) in Starfinder Lore, I think it's INTENTIONALLY left vague so GMs can do whatever they want with it to write their own stories in the world of Golarion!

@@JacksonOwex Definitely not my point. There is actually more to this story in the decade of material available for 1e. I'm not one to give spoilers but there is a mystery plot. You know what? Im kiind of a dick. The Azlanti and Starfinder question you asked tableguy is a good example[le of what frustrates me. there is a plot thread that runs the entirety of both systems. And a LOT of frustrating interactions I havent seen addressed closely anywhere. I've been playing pathfinder since its playtest and I have a theory with sooooooooo much supporting stuff through the years it's maddening. You'll get it.
