I can't belive kpop stans nowdays doesn't know about beast/highlight. Literally everybody knows songs like fiction,shock and good luck in korea. They were the one of the first boy group from a non big 3 company to get a daesang. There one of the few groups where every member is both handsome and really talented (check out their mr removed). Unfortunately because their rapper yong nunhyung left they might disband but hopefully not. (And also you forgot 12:30)

I think because of kpopers nowadays (my sister is the perfect example) is 00-07 liner. And that's why their preference automatically directed to EXO/BTS (as the biggest boygroup). I remember back then I show my sister Ribbon mv, and she likes it. But she says, "But they're old, I prefer Jungkook oppa," 😂. Sorry if they old sis, we can't help it 😂

For a group that was considered the rejects of kpop they made such a name for themselves and I truly fell in love with them during there run. All of there music is actually so great and its sad to see where they are now i really do miss them, espically fiction that was such a major song and that was when people stopped calling them the rejects of kpop. If anyone can bounce back from the ashes of nothing it is literally this boy group. They've had members leave, there own label turn there back on them, there own set of scandals, the general public against them. They've literally had everything that could be against a group and you know what they made themselves rise from all of that. So I do believe that they can make a comeback and it be so great

Before BTS, Beast was my ultimate group... I miss them so much 😭😭 every comeback was perfect ! I still support highlight 🙏 I continue to listen beast album on repeat ahaha their song don’t get old at all ! The group who made me into kpop was Suju (special place in my heart for them 💜), then when beast came I totally fail in love with them.. and when they quit Cube I start to fail into BTS xD

​@@helo9885 A little late, but Gikwang's solo wasn't as successful as expected by the company and Gikwang himself. (He was gaining traction by dabbling into acting, but he probably wasn't financially performing up to par in recouping costs and lowering the financial risks taken on by Cube at the time.) Gikwang and other Beast members did share a little bit about how they became a group in their reality show on preparing their debut. The members struck up the idea of becoming a group while Doojoon, Junhyung and Yoseob were backup dancers for Gikwang. They reasoned the idea that uniting as a group would strengthen their respective shortcomings as performers/singers and showcase a more unique identity among their peers ( In their early days, the members leaned towards more of a masculine, brooding image. That was considered more niche when there were few boy groups going that direction (MBLAQ, 2PM, HOMME, for example) back then. Plus, a win-win when it comes to all the members getting a second chance debuting. The company was super against forming a boy group because they were wary of the members' physicality + "it" factor for their identity as performers while balancing their priority of getting a strong foothold for 4minute and the risk associated with being a startup music label. Nevertheless, the company relented and took a risk on them.

Yes, Beast/Highlight was “subject to their time” and should be bigger internationally now if they did not encounter so much challenges and didn’t enter military service at such a propitious time. It would interest you to know that BTS’s role model is Highlight; they watched Beast’s 2012 Beautiful Show and made the resolve to hold a big successful concert just like Beast.

I never clicked so fast in my life, and started crying. Beast was my first kpop group I ever listen too and how I started High school.Before High school I heard their song Mystery in a anime video and got curious and found them, thanks to them I also found Hyuna. They are literally my life, I have alot of their albums and they have helped me when I'm down and every time I don't listen to them for a while I just fell in love with them all over again. They are still my favorite group to this day and I look forward to their return. I do hope in my heart one day Junhyung will comeback to the group since he did not leave the label. “Comeback kings” - that’s the perfect way to describe them! I followed BEAST since the very beginning, their story left such an impression on me. The underdogs of the industry rising up! Gave me chills! That’s why I love them! Hyunseung leaving was a big hit but they still produced and performed well as 5. But I’m not sure they can survive the loss of Junhyung. Eventually, the 9 lives runs out. Still such an iconic group that will always have a piece of my heart. Thanks for sharing their story!

I saw another thing which is: starting agency by yourself is NOT easy. BEAST was/is one of the power-house groups in KPOP. you might wanna know how big they were, go to any Korean-English based forum. BEAST popularity during 2010-2011 was like BTS' current popularity (in a context). Imagine, in 2011 we had SNSD with The Boys, BIGBANG with Tonight (underperformed), 2PM with Hands Up, 2NE1 with I'm the best etc, yet they managed to won 2 Daesangs in that year! According to GAON, BEAST Digital sales are the second highest after BIGBANG, with 35M+.

I love everything about them. From Beast to Highlight, they have never stopped working hard. They are well-loved because they are so sincere and inspiring. Also, can we talk about their FRIENDSHIP? They stuck together from B2ST pre-debut to re-debut as Highlight, they respected the majority when making decisions, and stuck together through the pains of building their own agency (if you are a business person, you know how hard it is to build your own company). They are now CEOs with taxes to pay and trainees to manage, and at the same time, a Kpop group with a relevance to maintain. If that is not power of their friendship, I don't know what is!!! 😭😭😭 Of course it goes without saying that their music is utterly beautiful and true to their own style, and their live performances are always just so live (😂) and amazing.

And all of this owed to their close friendship forged in the crucible of rejections and challenges. You should have clarified that Junhyung was involuntarily dragged into the JJY scandal by the journalist who inserted his name onto the groupchat! by the way she has already admitted to it. Their comeback is outstanding. Not the End has very meaningful lyrics and the song is moving and inspiring and the vocals excellent. All of the songs in Blowin’ are wellmade and reaffirm Beast/ Highlight’s reputation of having the best discography in Kpop. What a class act!

Junhyung was edited into the group chat, they did him pretty dirty there. In fact he was just in a 1:1 chat with JJY who sent him a video where he touched a girl, the video was filmed with consent but she didn’t give the permission to share it. That’s what Junhyung watched, that’s it. He didn’t distribute it any further and didn’t take videos himself. His only mistake was that he kept being silent about anything that happens, but honestly how was he supposed to know which shady things happened in the group chat when he wasn’t a part of it? But he decided to leave Highlight anyway, so the other members would have been left alone (Gikwang was about to release a solo album). He enlisted in the military quietly and there hasn’t been any news regarding him since then. Everyone has the right to stop supporting him, but I feel like sometimes people are too quick to judge. And I want to be honest: if I had just received that one video Junhyung received, I don’t think I would have gotten to the police either, especially when you don’t know the about the group chat. What cheers me up is that Junhyung sometimes changes his instagram bio to communicate with the fans. I'm not really into this new generation of k-pop, but even now, the songs of old groups like Beast/Highlight, makes my awful days, bearable, and good days, brighter. I hope they keep with they work, but I will understand if they decide to not comeback. Music is forever, and I will always support these talented guys. ❤

Beast was the first group I got to know because of their World Tour in the beginning of 2012 when they had an interview on national TV. I got curious and totally fell in love with "Take care of my girlfriend/Say No" which was the first korean MV I ever watched. Now I know thousands of K-pop songs and hundreds of artists but I'm still most excited for their comeback as Highlight or solo artists.

I tried so hard not to cry... but here i am a mess... thanks nathan! But in all seriousness, they were and still are my ultimate bias group after all these years. Beast was the first group i was like okay these are my boys. these are my loves of my life. And Seeing them live at kcon17 is still like a dream and its been like 3 years now. I honestly have never been so lucky in my entire life. I was lucky enough to get the high touch and getting front row (p1 pit) there really are no words to describe how lucky and happy i was. And seeing your fancam brought back all those emotions like... How lucky can a fan ever be T.T Even though there are so many groups out there that I love they will always be my number 1. So i really do hope to see them together again. They did it once i know they can do it again. Fun fact Hyunseung came out from the military today!

I'm a LIGHT and this was so well resumed that I cried a little. Junhyung was never charged for burning sun scandal and only brought in as a witness in JJY videos case. B2ST/Highlight is definitely a great group even back then for getting so big without being under the "big 3" Newer fans may not know this but it was very impressive for kpop groups back in the day. Their albums are so good I'm definitely gonna listen again after this vid!

2021 and Beast/Highlight remains the best Kpop group. When they started, they were compared with Shinee. Later they began to be conpared with Big Bang because of the consistency and the quality of their songwriting and recod producing. Later they began to be compared with TVXQ for the power and charisma of their lives and concerts. When they formed their own agency and rebranded as Highlight, they began to be compared wih Shinwa. It was during their “debut” as Highlight that BTS said they considered “Beast-it is now known as Highlight” as their inspiration back when BTS were rookies. No Kpop act has been compared with major Kpop acts so frequently as B/H. Which means they’re simply the best.

If you sum up the whole scenario junhyung's standing best describe to be " He was just in unfortunate situation" 1st - when they forcefully try to fit him in their media dramas by editing as if he was in the dirty group chat when he was not part of it in the first place. 2nd - when the media releases half truth and misleading articles w/c deceives the recipient by presenting something believable and leads to false conclusion. (Even when police already clarified from the beginning that he was just a witness,many still misundestood and accuse him of being a bystander cuz media is dragging his name everywhere without the inttention of clarifying things. it took almost a year of w/c it was revealed that he just receive 1 video, not a molka nor a sex, but just a consented touching of a body part of a girl where it was "consented to be filmed"..after kbs exclusively get hold of the 67 pages court docs.) 3rd - it was unlucky of him to get acquianted with the perpetrator JJY. And became an easy target of media to be used for their dramas. (Given that he was from highly respected group and just newly established their own company ) w/c will cause a huge stir to the public. In short he was just got entangled with the patch which the media used to cover up the big fishes mess.

I have to say Yong Junhyung is a genius song-writer, like literally every single song he made is just a masterpiece. Let's not forget also the big role he played in Beast/Highlight's success basically just bcuz of his songs!! I believe if it weren't for his songs I don't think they would've received the same amount of attention (ofc the members all are legends). I just objectively believe he didn't deserve the amount of shit he received from the scandal. A genius like him should continue to make music, for real, he is a gem Korea shouldn't lose..
