Tom Brady was the reason for the success the year after he left New England he won the Super Bowl and belycheck had a 500 record without Brady you forgot he had a losing record before drafting Brady

people seem to forget that Brady came into the #3 offense the previous year in 2019 including #1 in passing offense and #4 in scoring offense. Winston threw 30 ints so of course the team was going to struggle. Brady helped, however adding a hall of fame TE in gronk and the offense inherited was already a good situation.

Belichick is also the gm of the patriots, which has Been underwhelming since 2018. This is partially why the talent disparity in his teams since tom left is so huge. His recent drafting was awful, Judon is one of the only free agents that has worked out for him.

I still think, as a Giants fan, that the Patriots would have a better season this year. I don't know why Patriots fans are blaming Jones, he was surrounded by two lackeys "running" the offense. They brought O'Brian as an OC and QB coach, who got the best out of Mac Jones in Alabama and will probably do the same in NE, and the Patriots also got him weapons like Gesicki and Smith-Schuster.

The rumors of his tentions with Tom Brady in their later years are really what make it look bad for him. Brady then proceeded wit win a Super Bowl while he’s struggled as a both gm and coach overall. It’s just a bad look. Had Brady retired a patriot I don’t think people would be as down on him. Bill himself would fire himself at this point. It’s not personal it’s business. That’s it.

Bill is the most overated coach in history. BB's legacy is that he lucked into Tom Brady with his second pick of the sixth round in 2000. In 10 career seasons without TB12, Belichick is 8 games UNDER .500, his teams have missed the playoffs for 8 of those 10 seasons and he has won only one playoff game. What's more is that the last time a Belichick team made the playoffs his defense (his specialty and the source of his "genius") gave up the best offesive performance in NFL history. Belichick is not the greatest coach in history. He's a really good DC who lucked into Tom Brady. Without Tom Belichick is Vic Fangio (a terrific defensive coach who is overmatched an a HC). Heck, without Brady Blichick is not even as good as Marvin Lewis. Lewis had a winning record as the Bengals coach and made it to the playoffs about half of the time. Let me leave things with one final thought - the most likely outcome for 2023 is a last place finish in the AFC East and missing the playoffs again. At some point people will consider Belichick to be what his record (w/o Brady) says that he is.
