I love Block B, they're my bias group and probably always will be. The nickname for BBC btw is bees which is infinitely cuter imo. I love your term "anti boy group". They so are. Their whole marketing scheme for like 5 years was to use their dirty "unsellable" image to well... sell themselves and it frakking worked. I also love that they're basically a parody group. Their middle four biggest hits are all parodic, and poke fun at the industry. NILLILI MAMBO- Parodies Pirates of the Caribbean and One Piece, and the sped up dialogue at the end is a pasta recipe. The story line is also set up so that you think they're these gangsters, but then it turns out to be more comedy than anything else; the chicken, the missing diamond etc. They fail at being gangster basically. VERY GOOD- Obviously parodies the Dark Knight, but there are also visual references to Marilyn Manson and Big Bang (and I like to think Death Note, since these dudes are huge anime fans), but if you listen to the music again, it kinda feels like a parody of rock music, like a rock song that isn't quite right, and also a parody of themselves- people judging their "image" so much they kinda just went all out with the crazy. The lyrics also call out the industry. JACKPOT- Is clearly a parody of the industry itself, both lyrically and visually: The girl spins around on a knife target board whilst the lyrics sing about how gaining success is like hitting the Jackpot. She goes through a makeover scene where she is given outfits like that of a pin up doll, able to choose whoever and whatever she wants to be, again over lyrics that talk about how what’s the point in success if it’s just luck and a gamble anyway. Then there’s a scene of all of them partying, dancing, celebrating this gambled and fake success. And then after the music ends, the girl walks away, dressed to the nines, success gained, and as she walks away she appears pull the middle finger at the clowns behind her who helped her get there… (apparently she didn't actually flip the birdy which just makes the video even funnier). Oh and to keep up the anime references, PO’s styling is a definitely straight out of Tokyo Ghoul. The whole thing is very symbolic and tongue in cheek. (also musically is a masterpiece, with 4 or 5 changes of percussion from shuffle to straight and back again but that's another story) HER- a lot of people go "oh Block B is cute now", without watching the music video properly. First of all, their make up is over done, and the colours over saturated. Secondly there is CF washing liquid parody and then Zico raps with an ostrich. And then there's that mid MV talk show... where in Zico explains their "new" cute image by going "Zico Zico Ni!" which is referencing the anime (yes again) Love Live. But here's the thing, the scene Zico references, is when Nico, a character in the anime, acts uncharacteristically cute to make an impression of a "proper school idol" to the rest of the anime cast by going "Nico Nico Ni!". The entire scene parodies the KAWAII concept used by idols to sell themselves, the fake cute concept that people put on... Thus making the HER MV meta within meta within meta. This MV is a parody of cute concepts, and of Kpop concepts in general. YESTERDAY is a Friends Parody and you can't convince me otherwise. The teaser said it all! Also how much to I love that they came back with an non promoted single after Toy and it was the fourth biggest digital hit of all 2017? Like wtf who does that. Oh wait, Block B. Anyway, Thank you for this well informed video! So many people are ill informed about Block B, especially since Zico left 7S (Block B is still 7 people!), it's nice to see you spitting facts lol. (p.s they also had a huge presence in Japan in 2016 and 2017 with My Zone and the Block B-1 project and B-Bomb went solo digitally this year

N.Flying, too! They’ve got a similar thing going where it’s pretty clear they’re very, very close friends and that’s entirely (I think at least) because their companies completely ignore them, so they have to do everything themselves. Seunghyub of N.Flying writes and composes all of their music with Cha Hun (like Zico and Kyung working on BB’s), and Jaehyun does tons of dramas to get his face out there and raise hype for the group. Hweseung does a lot of music show appearances to raise hype for their new albums and the group in general, and the group’s gotten on and won the Immortal Song I think once or twice (not counting the times Hweseung has won on his own). For Seunghyub’s birthday, they all got together and did a photoshoot for him, and for his birthday dinner they FaceTimed Jaehyun (who was in Japan doing a really big drama) I think there’s just something about groups that have to do everything themselves that gives them such a feeling of authenticity, and you really get the feeling you’re watching a bunch of guys just having a good time together. It even comes through in music videos, where it’s SO clear from how they act whether or not the members are enjoying themselves (present in both Block B and N.Flying). It’s just a shame it takes a negligent label to get that effect...

Block B was the kpop group that brought me into this devilish hole, i remember that even after getting to know others groups i still stayed loyal to them because to me other kpop groups cant fit the quality and uniqness that Block B has. When the news that Zico decided to leave the company came i felt like my life was over, but it wa understandable since he deserve a better treatment for all his hardwork and 7s is a big shit . However, through the next months (and this is something that maybe all tha bbcs could agree with me) I noticed that they did'nt acted like it was over for them, like block b as we know it ended there. The boys have been releasing individual stuffs, zico is working on his own company and achieving sucess. And i feel utterly happy for they sucess and i want the to keep pursuing their career or whath the fuck they want to do. But i feel that the cutest part is that they have never stopped talking an considering block b as 7, they keep remembering the good times toghether and always remember us that they inteed to keep going an reunite in the future. block b was my ULT bias group for like 2 years, they’re really something different and special and i still love them to this day. they’ve had such a hard journey and aside from the thailand scandal (which was also a huge deal because people mistranslated the article to make it seem way worse than it was) people HATED them for so many reasons and they even had trash thrown outside their dorms. they never deserved this treatment. also the nillili mambo to jackpot mv’s were part of a 4 part series with a continuing story! very cool. i miss them so much and i wish a lot more people had gotten more into them than just what’s on the surface :(

Block B was/is the best boy group to me. Their music is so different from all the others, catchy and showing off good hip pop/rap vibes. Ok but honestly what I like about Block B is that they have such unique voices that fit different styles which makes them versatile, they write and produce their songs, they genuinely had to work together against all odds and most importantly THEY MAKE GOOD MUSIC! They sound like themselves even if they are inspired by a trend or a popular style. I see so many idols be shady or unhappy about not being able to have the choice of making their own stuff for their groups because their company limits them. ALSO TAEIL AND HIS TATTOOS ARE ICONIC LIKE YESSSS YESSSSSSSSSS
@FatMaMohvids5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for covering blockb! People tend to ignore them :( The confirmed lineup was not Jaehyo and Bbomb, it was zico, kyung, ukown, hanhae and mino. Mino left (not because of contact) but because the amount of shit that stardom was doing, he actually shaded them a lot and he even talked about how they made their trainees (Zico, Kyung, pyo and himself) writing music that they didn’t credit them for. Zico started producing block b music because the company didn’t have anyone then to produce for them and they weren’t gonna debut so he had to do it to debut. ReMontage, montage re packaged was released in 2018 not 2017. KQ ent/ seven seasons is almost as bad as stardom in their own way, they’re terrible and I Can’t hate them enough for destroying block b. Bbomb, Kyung, Taeil, jaehyo and ukown have their solo songs, taeil, Kyung and bbomb debuted as solos, bbomb announced his enlistment date and released a song trilogy (3 songs) but no body is talking about these because KQent/Seven seasons isn’t doing anything to promote it, the members have to do everything by themselves including getting funding for their mvs. My ult groups is block b, and they’ll be coming back sooner then we think, the members confirmed one million times already that they’re 7 and won’t disband but will only comeback when their military service ends and they leave the trash KQEnt.
@sushmithas78313 жыл бұрын
KQ is not a trash. You all should understand being only started 4 years since started their platform and financial things are too small which cannot handle a big group like block b. And l am surely saying they will not get the recognition they should get too.

I was expecting you to talk what happened during the time they released. i think this should be brought up. During the time of the release of JACKPOT, the Sewol Ferry Incident happened. Many lives were lost, one of them is a strong BBC. She was one of the high school victims that died while on a road trip. She was a huge blick b fan and was said she was looking forward for block b's concert soon. this affected block b deeply, especially zico. this made the group decided to postpone/cancel(?) their comeback and remove Jackpot from KZbin for a while. In a concert after some time, during a performance, Zico dedicated a rap for her. They're just the sweetest.
