Madan, Vijayakanth was a huge star in mid 1980s itself. His 100th movie Captain Prabhakaran was released on April 1991. Also 2 directors helped Vijayakanth a lot in his career. SA Chandrasekhar and R Sundararajan. Vijayakanth felt so hugely indebted to SAC that during his peak he agreed to play a supporting role in a SAC's film called Senthoorapandi in 1993. This movie was taken to promote the son of SAC, who went by the name of Vijay. This was Vijay's second film after Naalaya Theerpu. This was the first hit for Vijay in his career., though Vijayakanth got more name in the movie. RIP Captain, there will never be another gem like you

As you said, back then, being a 90s kid I knew him mostly through memes only. But some years back I saw a random interview where a support artist praised him like anything. Then I was so curious and then I started to see a lot about what as he done. My god!! this man’s story and praises by others literally gave me goosebumps and tears at the same time. I really felt bad and guilty like how did we even troll him and made him a meme material 😢. From that moment I started to see him as a real life hero. Vijayakanth sir had worked with Geetha Cafe, serving tables. This is really a rags-to-riches story. As a child, I used to be thrilled to watch his movie not because what he did on screen, but because of his humble beginnings. I am not sure, if anyone has recorded all these elements of his life as yet. This legend's story deserves to be documented into either a book or a bio-pic for the younger generations to learn from.

Thanks Madan , you brought in a very good enlightened information about Captain Sir’s achievement and brought in another important info - Covid is back , public has to take precaution , life is so important . Covid is not only increasing in India but in USA too … we went to Christmas vacation to USA , my wife is covid positive , so guys who ever is reading this .. please start to wear masks and especially if elderly / senior people are socializing / getting into crowd - it is better to wear masks and take precautionary measures.
