I saw this opening weekend. I was the only person in the theater. That meant I got to watch it on the big screen and be able to focus entirely on the movie with nothing to annoy me. Great experience.

Cloverfield was incredible when it came out. I'll never forget watching it on tv with my friends, being freaked out because we lived in manhattan. I did not expect to like it as much as I did.

_Cloverfield_ did it so well that it now seems incredibly obvious to combine these two subgenres. Of course making a monster movie from the perspective of the civilians trying to survive would be great.

@@angelaarmie5789 I don't like the Geordie bloke, not that I think he' a bad person or anything but his accent is WAYYYYYYY too thick to be a narrator. He's difficult to understand and when you're sole purpose is to 'Narrate' something, that's a really bad detriment to you, you need to speak clear and concise and he doesn't unfortunately. They really should tell you in the thumb nail who's video it is before you click on it.

This was one of the first movies I saw in Imax. Had to drive 40 min to the closest theater, but it was worth it.

What I loved about clover field is how there were just breadcrumbs and you had to search for things hidden in the movie etc ppl posting vids of something falling from the sky at the end of the movie or reversing the end of the movie saying it’s still alive. Stuff like that got me hyped and interested in the universe

I remember being excited to see this. 20 minutes into the movie my GF at the time, started getting sick from the camera movements. I had to wait a few months to rent it and watch it alone 😂

I live in a rural area. Our video stores didn't really think ahead when ordering copies of movies. You may have to wait for weeks or months to rent ONE movie. When I finally acquired Blair Witch from my local haunt, the cast had already appeared on the MTV Awards. I would not research a film until after I had seen it. I saw Cloverfield with this approach. I loved how they made "found footage" thrilling and scary. How they tease you with the monster itself: you meet its little friends first, then the face reveal at the end. I still watch it just to remind myself how much I enjoy it. Great video 🤗💜 spoiler free with enough info to entice the viewer.

Ah clover field a childhood favorite of mine , wish I had gotten that limited action figure 😢 One of the main reasons these movie is so affective to me is because of the found footage aspect ( I know not many people enjoy these.) it puts us in the characters shoes which adds that intense realistic situation they uncover. I don’t know I haven’t seen anything else like it which holds a special place in my life.

For some weird reason, whenever I think back to Cloverfield I also remember the movie Chronicle. Maybe it's cause they're both presented as handheld camera - found footage. Or maybe it's just me seeing these films around the same time, but for whatever reason I find them as underrated little gems. 💎+💎

The film grew on me and i really enjoy the ride the film takes you on Seeing the special features of the monster there was so much thought put in its a shame they stuck strictly to the found footage only giving small full glimpses of the monster There is a way to mix both One of the few mystery box motif that really hits

All I had was the movie website!!! 💀 I went to the midnight screening!!! The time before the first screening was 7pm.

Yup, my viewing experiences ended with me and the GF leaving the movie, half the audience left by the time we did, everyone in the lobby complaining. The amount of people saying how it was awesome/ great always mystified me, especially when they said stuff like "It was like old monster movies", yeah, if the bumbling comic relief guy was holding the camera, maybe.

Cloverfield is a classic. One of the scariest movies ever made. Jessica Lucas (Lily) later went on to star in the 2014 historic disaster movie Pompeii.

Don't forget project X (2012) . All movies With a promising doorway for a sequel. That never happened, well not project X. Doesn't need a sequel. But Chronicle had so much story and ground they could've covered for a while

I just watched Cloverfield for the 1st time last year. I didnt watch it back when it came out because everyone i spoke to said the movie sucked. They complained that you didnt see enough of the monster, the jumpy camera angles, that they didnt know what the movie was about from the trailers, ect. But i actully liked the movie. It wasnt terrible like they said. I would say it was average. I enjoyed it. Lesson of the story, dont always listen to others..... sometimes you must give a film a chance and decide for yourself.

I went into it knowing nothing and sat thru the end credits blown away. 10 Cloverfield Lane is good but I still can’t make a connection to the original. And cloverfield paradox was kind of trash with just a weird cameo at the end. I want a true sequel - maybe from the military’s perspective or something. I think they tried to use cloverfield title as a twilight zone thing but it didn’t really land

Ha ha, I'm 33, I watched 10 Cloverfield lane before the first one, meaning actually watched it start to finish. Because of the order in which I watched the franchise, I like Paradox. I honestly just wanted the why/whats going on question answered. They answered it. So I'm just hoping the franchise it's finish yet. It's does make sense. Especially if you still like the MCU And DCU somewhat. 🤔

I remember trying to watch this movie & got about 15 minutes in before I had to stop it. The endless shaky-cam was annoying af, the girls running around looking for help but needing to announce "We're Americans! Can you help us? We're Americans!" every 2 minutes made them come off as entitled & unsympathizable, & the frikking potato-cam footage was utterly intolerable. I was interested in this movie until I got to see it 😒

Sorry, but the 3rd film "Paradox" was just bad. Technically (how it was shot, directed, vfx, its score, most of the acting etc.) it was well done, but the story itself was utter garbage. There is a reason it was dropped to Netflix and not put into cinemas...
