In the comic dutch was suffering from radiation sickness after his battle with the jungle hunter. Peter keys interviewed him in hospital where he told him about his encounter with the creature. Not long after that he disappeared. Dutch should have been in predator 2!

I read that they originally wanted Dutch to do the part of Keyes in Predator 2. I'm glad it was Busey in the end as it fit him perfectly, it would have ruined Arnie's legacy.

It's a shame Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't return for Predator 2. At the time, he was busy working on Total Recall, and he was also preparing to film Terminator 2: Judgement Day which he signed on and was committed to. Word is, Schwarzenegger didn't like the script for Predator 2 and what they did with his character Dutch and so he dropped out.

I gotta say, it was a white folksy move in a black movie… that is how military family talk to only each other. His beef was that it should have been the blk man who wins if the next one gets “stolen.” Again, not their fault, they - the people behind the goat~~ So, to me, and I know this: Teow is the best Predator… because Harrigan was equalled to his opponent. This is not about the just rights moves of somatic combat. In the Dark Horse comic series, the focus shifted to his brother, Schaefer. Predator 2 borrowed heavily from the first comic run, swapping out Schaefer for Danny Glover’s character. But the comic run continued with Sheafer’s continued run-ins with the Predators, but as a side plot, Schaefer is trying to find out what happened to Dutch from the General Phillips (from the first movie), but never getting an answer. The last story with Schaefer (to my knowledge) ends with Schaefer alone with Gen Phillips in the middle of nowhere, determined to get answers about his brother. But as far as I know, they never made a story that gave us those answers. Have always wanted closure on that.

He and his partner with the help of a Predator clan fought aliens in the beginning of the Earth War, from his perspective they won... however the war was lost for the humans later on. He at some point with his partner fought Aliens and Predators on "Lv-666"

I like that the merged Dutch with part of Hunter Borgia the main villian from Predator Concrete Jungle, by using some of the Predator tech or DNA to extend the life of Dutch more than likely the greatest threat earth has to the hunters next to Batman that is.

No, no, no, no.... Major Dutch Schaefer was a human cyborg officer in the United States Colonial Marine Corps. He was involved in combating a Xenomorph infestation in San Drad, California. A cyborg created to fight extra-terrestrials. He lost his arm in the 2nd Alien War and has since had it replaced with a smartgun rig. He lives only to avenge himself against the aliens. When all of his team except for Lieutenant Linn Kurosawa were cut off, he and Kurosawa joined forces with two Yautja to destroy the Hive.

Why didn’t dark horse just do a series of comic books centered around Dutch after the events of Predator? I knew Arnold would never return to the role after Predator 2, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have more Dutch. Did/Do they need Arnold’s permission to draw his likeness? I seriously don’t understand why after 30+ years we’ve only got journals, and fan art of Dutch after the first Predator movie?

Sending them to friends but really enjoyed this one can't wait for some more hellraiser ones either the most recent ones you did well so excellent are you ever going to cover any berserk ones? I know some of the subject matter is a little bit hard the KZbin but there's a lot you can skim around but I would would love to see them on the channel, outside violent world of 90s anime I'm very fussy so I wouldn't call myself a particularly big anime person myself that would love to see them also your second channel get more interesting every month learning quite a lot about the inner workings of cars so thanks for that

He teamed up with Rambo to take down Predators. Dutch and Rambo Rated 18. Coming to cinemas in 1993. Sly and Arnold teamed up to late. I think it's a crime that Arnold didn't reprise Dutch. And I remember a story where Dutch and Ripley were meant to team up, against Aliens and Predators, Directed by James Cameron! Now that is what people want James, not avatar sequels. How could you leave Arnold! So annoying.

The one character I wish we could’ve seen in a sequel, but in hindsight really glad he was left alone cause Shane Black would’ve found a way to ruin him. I always felt that Dutch was the only character Arnie was super protective of. He didn’t come back for the second one because his role was reduced and turned into a villainous role.

Hindsight is 20/20 but it is a shame that Arnold never returned to the series. One of the issues sequels can often face is that the Protagonist, having already gone through a character arc, often lacks room for growth in subsequent stories. This would not have been the case in a "Predator" sequel, as the original left him with a perfect place to start from. The last shot we have of Dutch Scheafer is not one of triumph, he looks confused, spent, a ghost of who he was at the start of the film. A logical place for his story to continue would've been to show Dutch, retired from soldiering, probably living in a cabin somewhere or even in a city, but isolated from people. He would be haunted by nightmares every night, a broken man and the last thing he would ever want, was to ever have to go through that again. His character arc would involve him having to face his fears and find the strength to conquer the creature that has now become his personal demon. Yes, it is derivative of Ripley's arc in "Aliens," but there is nothing wrong with using what's proven to work and I'm sure in honing the story, Dutch's journey would become more unique. Sadly, it will only exist in our speculations.

I can see this as an HBO Max short series. With John Cena playing Dutch and it would take place after the 1987 incident. Because Arnold's getting up there and he's not as in the shape as he used to be. Were John is. And it would fill in the blank between Predator 1 and the Predator

SPOILER WARNING. We know what happened to him? In the comic Concrete Jungle, where his twin Schaefer is trying to find out his brother’s fate, it’s revealed that Dutch is kicked out of the helicopter at the end of Predator when worms start tearing out of his skin like ‘Ebola on steroids’ due to the mud he caked himself in and radiation from the alien’s self destruct arm nuke. The last thing you see of Dutch is him on his knees, arms to the sky in despair as the choppa flies away leaving him for dead. Dutch is toast. Arnie turning down the role of his twin for the sequel due to shooting conflicting with red Sonja (I believe) changed the whole story. For the worse, in my opinion.
