I grew up as a teen when I heard of this band. And, I can confirm, no one around me talked about these guys. Cupid's Chokehold was only around for 2 months before everyone moved on.

Gym Class Heroes is in my top 3 influences and favorite bands of all time. I was lucky enough to get a feature from Disashi on my most recent album, Unique Melange, called “Ambiguous Specificity.” I tried asking him about the state of the band but it sounds like they signed NDAs and can’t talk about what happened. 🤐 From what I’ve observed on my own via social media postings between the guys in the band, it’s a situation where Matt, Disashi, and Travis own 1/3 of the band and each of them can kinda do their own thing (kinda how the Temptations were operating as two different groups at one point) Unfortunately, I don’t feel like whatever happened between them is repairable and we probably won’t get another true GCH album. However, I hope I’m wrong. Great video! I feel like I had all 4 songs from Hed Candy and a few from greasy kid stuf at one point on my old iPod classic

I literally just saw GCH last night in LA. It was a free concert and they played their hits from 08 to 12. It took a while for the actual show to start. It's crazy how they were once mainstream on Fuel by Ramen and are now forgotten.

Flobots blew up around the same time with a live band hip hop setup just not emo from what I remember. As far as genre, in HS we would call it Bubblegum Rap or Emo Rap. Atmosphere were one of the early pioneers of Emo Rap from what I recall. Source: 90s kid

If you plan on growing your channel please look up how your video topics can impact the algorithm, I am not entirely sure how it works. But, I do know that big channels will only post specific topics on one channel and then different topics on another channel. Love the video!

I was very curious what happened to them. They broke right around the time I was discovering the wider music world, and I liked their singles a lot. Sticks that travie had so many issues, but happy that he is in a good place now
