Hey man, I know we’ve never really spoken, I’m not even sure if you know who I am. But I can guarantee you that you’ve changed my life. Your videos, along with a few other channel I saw growing up, gave me this really cathartic feeling that there were people out there who took animation just as serious as I did. You gave me a validation that I didn’t get from my friends or family. And this is beyond the SpongeBob videos. Keep it a buck, I barley watched those because I don’t have a strong connection to the show. But YOU as a person and everything you did is 1000% a contribution to all of the videos that I make today. I’m currently struggling with a lot of the stuff you bring up here. I greatly admire your honesty and courage for this. Take all of the time you need and then some. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy it when you do SpongeBob videos alongside the BotB and the Re-Cast, but I understand where you’re coming from. I came here for you considering your personally and passion, and while it is hard to ignore people who constantly hassle you to make those videos again, your mental health and your life come first. We all have our days when we lose our way when it comes to doing things, and it is hard. But yeah, it was good to not really force yourself to make specific content you’ve done since it would have stressed you out more. As for the SpongeBob content, don’t make yourself do videos since you haven’t been that enthusiastic towards the show nowadays. Yeah there are people who have come for it and there are seasons 11 and 12 ongoing, but don’t force yourself. I’ve admired being a fan of yours for 7 years, and I just want you to be okay at the end of the day. Just take your time, and don’t let your passion dwindle due to how things are now. Do whatever you want that feels right to you and what you enjoy for now, even when there are people who did come from those SpongeBob videos.

Bottom of the Bakery ending was pretty self-explanatory, lol. As soon as the overarching creepiness of Dan "The Foot Soldier" Schneider started becoming super well-known on social media, I think one of the first things I thought was, "Well that does it for Bottom of the Bakery, fellas." I was always kind of surprised to see people requesting more after that.
@Lauren_2104 жыл бұрын
The main thing that was being requested from that series was the remaining two episodes of the 5-part Seddie arc he did a couple years ago where after he covered the 3rd episode of the storyline, he left it on a big cliffhanger for parts 4 and 5, but it never came out and people (even myself) wanted him to at least finish that arc because it was incomplete. If he doesn’t want to finish that and continue that series, that’s his choice and I respect his decision.

Exactly what you said is what I went through on my first KZbin channel I collected 90s Nickelodeon stuff for a long time. Then I decided to make a KZbin channel out of it. I then started to feel like it was a job to collect merchandise because I needed more collectibles to make videos on. Then the channel started to feel like a job that I wasn’t passionate about. People would ask me “when’s the next video?” all the time and I just wasn’t feeling it. So eventually I stopped collecting because it felt like a job and it turned me into a perfectionist because I wanted me retro stuff in brand new condition. I stopped doing KZbin because I just wasn’t passionate about it. And I’m doing great now. I’ll be honest I was even on anti depressant meds because of the stress I was under. Not worth it. The phrase "do what you love" becomes futile when one dedicates their life to what they love. Because once you dedicate your mind, life, and soul to anything, it doesnt matter how much you love it, it stops becoming a hobby and becomes a job. No matter what kind of videos you do, be it long form edited videos, podcasts, Let’s Plays, what have you, what matters most to me is that I get to hear from you! And I feel like that’s how a lot of people see it too- maybe we initially came here because we were hooked on this or that, but it evolved beyond that. You feel almost like a friend to me, or at least, someone who’s mutually friendly towards me. But I also understand that, as much as we may want things to stay the same forever, they can’t. Several of the people I watch have suffered a similar burnout, and I’ve watched them struggle and ultimately come to the same conclusion you have. It’s sad seeing people you’ve come to care about struggle, to have the passion not be there, and then to have people in the comments rag on them like they’re a toy that won’t work. And it’s downright somber when, after they had been incredibly popular in their communities, they struggle to find their audience again. The ones who always cared might still be there, but there’s always the pressure to bring in new people, and it hurts when what you try isn’t enough to accomplish that. It’s disappointing, fleeting, like you’re a relic of a bygone era.... I’ll support whatever you do in the future. The Spongebob videos were great, but I loved the ReCast, I love Pieguy plays, I look forward to Stream Soda every Sunday. I’m not sure what else I can really say! And if you ultimately decide to stop making videos altogether? I’ll be sad for sure, but if it’s not bringing you any satisfaction, by all means. I want you to live the happiest, most fulfilling life you can, and if that means putting KZbin behind you, I understand completely and wish you the best of luck!

I recently had a revelation that Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is most likely going to be the last positive experience I’ll have, involving SpongeBob SquarePants. That really hit me, and it’s still weird to think about. This show and this character was my EVERYTHING, growing up. I adore these characters and the world they’re attached to. But I remember you talking about your own dilemma in which you weren’t sure if you could call yourself a fan of a show that you either haven’t seen or haven’t enjoyed more than 50% of. I haven’t enjoyed anything from the show, beyond the first movie. It’s sad when things come to an end. And it was just kinda chilling to have such a big light in my life disappear. But in actuality, it’s been gone for a long time now. And while Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated isn’t getting the most positive reception, it’s something that brought me joy to see from SpongeBob, which hasn’t happened for me in years. But once I finally get around to playing and finishing it.... that’s the end. Sorry if this comment doesn’t really help much. Long story short, I wanted you to know that you aren’t alone with how you feel. I wish you the absolute best in all that you pursue in the future and I hope it brings you nothing but happiness. There's just way too much of it and they keep having to recycle ideas from earlier episodes because there's just nothing left. No show can just go on and on forever. I'm glad you came out and talked about this, because I have a feeling that this is an issue that will effect a lot of content creators on KZbin. Once it becomes a career it will batter you down just like a career will... But it's worse on KZbin, because you can't switch to a new office or change your skills to fit a different format. You're kind of stuck, like an actor getting type-casted, but even they get a chance to turn themselves around with a new film. I'm sure people will say to just take a break until you are ready... But KZbin isn't made to take kindly on breaks, or changes in format, or really anything that doesn't get their numbers. So, what's the answer? Unfortunately, there's not really one. This is kind of a new frontier, considering that this only became a viable career arguably recently. Best of wishes to you, Pieguy! I do hope it gets easier for you.

So yeah, can't wait for the next stream!

I completely understand why exposing yourself to something for so long, throwing together multiple hour long fully edited videos would result in burnout. Anyone who's left stingy, negative comments scolding you for feeling that way simply doesn't understand the situation you were in to make those. And that's understandable to an extent, they're on the other side of the screen, they don't see the long, grating process. While I think it's good that you've opened up, it saddens me to see you in such a "bummer" state of mind. Your videos and brought hours of entertainment to myself and many others. It might be easy to look back with regret and disappointment with what could've been, I think you could also look back with pride. Most people never get to the point that you got to on KZbin. You made some great content, man. I hope you can take pride in that.

I get it. I'm just glad you finally came out and were honest about what's happening in your life and where your headspace is right now. Before, I wasn't quite sure what was up, but it's clear you've hit a road bump in your life and your creativity. I think we're all feeling that right now. The last couple of years have been tense and frustrating times. It feels like everyday someone or something has done something terrible and taken away from us or pushed our drive away. It's been nonstop shit just hitting with no mental break and I think it's kind of driving folks insane. I think it's a bold move to do this and I support it. Go for it man. Do what you want to do. You only live so long, and honestly it's a waste to throw it away on reviewing SpongeBobs. The only reason I subscribed to this channel was for you and your voice. I could care less about the kind of content. Go for what makes you happy. Also, stay safe mentally. Don't burn yourself out. A lot of artists and content creators do this and I think forget that they matter first. The content can wait for another day. Your mental health and drive however, cannot. Thanks for making memories for me regardless. I remember watching your Spongebob vids for hours lol. Here's to new ones.

I can kind of see you on the brink of tears when talking about your family members who have passed on (for the record, there's nothing wrong with being vulnerable and showing emotions, so I'm not judging at all) and it really hit in the feels tbh. I am so sorry to hear about your family members as well as the person that betrayed you. I have been watching some of your Nick and Cartoon Network reviews a few years prior to you starting up the Every Episode of Spongebob series and I admittedly got more involved in the channel once the series started up, and I really enjoyed watching your videos discussing Teen Titans Go, Powerpuff Girls, Bottom of the Bakery, and so forth, and I have watched a handful of your podcasts and found them very entertaining and fascinating to listen to. Take care of yourself and focus on your mental health and what you're passionate about. You're your first priority.

Strap in, because I have a lot to say: I've been waiting for this video for a really long time, but honestly, I don't care. I've never cared. I actually haven't been watching your podcasts at all because I find podcasts in general boring (just my general taste, I understand why people like them). I just assumed that you had stopped making SpongeBob and BOTB videos because you didn't enjoy them anymore and started making something else, and I had nothing against that, it happens all the time with other KZbinrs. I never unsubscribed because I don't unsubscribe just because I lose interest in the channel. I unsubscribe when I lose respect for people (like recently unsubscribing from Mr. Enter for his awful political ranting videos). I have not lost respect for you because these were just assumptions, and I've been watching other KZbinrs anyway. Everyone who's harassed you and your podcasts, forget about them, I still respect you and your content, and there's still not a single video of yours I've disliked. I'm still interested for what you do in the future though, and I completely understand you quitting making videos because you stopped enjoying them. I still wish you good luck.

Pieguy, you do you. Honestly, throughout it all, you're still my favorite youtuber and I respect you so much. I'm glad you've been trying to be an active content creator and it's fine if you can't do that. Take all the time you need with things, especially with what you've been going through. Whether or not you make SpongeBob videos in the future or Bottom of the Bakery videos in the future is a bit of a shame, sure, but they still made me and thousands of other people happy. That's more than I can say for myself. I still have those videos and even more from you to rewatch. It's such a joy hearing you talk about things you're passionate about, be they Avatar, Video Games, etc. I'm also happy to say that you've helped me a little bit in being critical of things. Sure I'm definitely no full time critic but you're definitely the main reason I try to look at things more critically and I'm so glad you could have ever impacted my life in that way. I'm even planning to take a next step in that path by eventually watching the SpongeBob stuff you never covered and maybe even the dreaded Seddie Arc someday. Yeah, the mystery of not knowing what you thought of them is a bit of a reason for it, but I'd like to experience stuff like that for myself and as exciting as it would be to see my opinion compared to yours, you deserve a break. Like I said before in this, take all the time you need. I'm excited to see what becomes of your channel eventually. Sorry to write so much, but I hope I've made it clear how much I support you. Godspeed, Pieguy

that is kinda what happened to me when I told people when I don't want to make anymore voltron edits because of how toxic the fandom is. Sometimes you lose your drive in making what you like all the time and that people want to see more of that show you put up videos of the fandom. In my opinion even if you don't like doing it anymore then try something new. Even if people would say no to it. Making or to see if you can do it.
@justjoannak4 жыл бұрын
OMG, I follow you on Instagram! Yeah, I totally agree with that
@vibespidersstudios88954 жыл бұрын
thanks, I totally agree onto my statement. It's better to move on and try out something new even if your audience don't like it. It better to be happy what you're making than forcing yourself making something to make the people who don't ever meet because they are on another screen. They don't control what you create. Even the amount of time you put it in and you feel disappointed that no one sees it because it is not the content that they want to see. You have to think back on everything that you make, "does this make you happy?" because you should please an audience when you can't make yourself happy in the first place and where you started from. Giving self happiness is better than getting some else's approval. That is not how it works and the continuation of this mindset will burn you out and there is nothing you can do to continue forward other than doing some else than the same thing over and over again. It is better to change it up sometimes because it refreshes your mindset and your drive will come back to you. I been an editor for like 10 years of my life and that is something that i won't give up on because it was make me happy to do for myself. That is why I have way too much motivation to keep myself up because I have something that makes me happy.

I haven’t seen most of the video yet, but find your reasons to be understandable. It must’ve been awful feeling that you had to be forced to be the spongebob guy in order to keep your channel a float, especially because you don’t like it a lot. Kinda makes sense why you started every TT season reviewed, because you actually feel passionate about that topic. Edit: So I have officially finished watching the video, and while I can admit that I do prefer your edited content over your podcasts, I respect your decision.

I've been following you for over a decade. I'm looking forward to your reviews of streaming services because it feels like going back to basics. Your first reviews were reviews of television networks back in the late 2000's, and now that TV is dying due to streaming services in the early 2020s, it's a good time to come back to that format, looking at what worked and what didn't, improving and looking towards the future. I remember that I was disappointed back then when you announced you wouldn't be making rants on TV networks and would only review TV shows from then on. Considering that it's the 2020s and 2000's nostalgia is on the rise, I'm sure some old viewers will come back to you out of 2000's nostalgia. It feels like the streaming service reviews are like the Sonic Mania of your channel.

I’m very glad you put this video out. Most people who want what they want when they want it and will be negative about any other content IMO are weak narrow minded people who would never say these things in person. They can because they are behind the protection of a screen. Burnout is a real thing that people need to accept as a valid reason for not wanting to do something anymore. I’m really sorry that you were betrayed by someone you thought you could trust. I’ve had that happen to me before and it hurts like hell. Personally I started following a whole bunch of KZbin channels that were in their infancy around the same time you started your channel (I found you when I was in the rabbit hole of classic Nickelodeon videos and you reviewed I think the current state of Nickelodeon in 2009) and tbh many of them have reached the 10 year mark or so and have just fallen off significantly with their content I believe also due to burnout from having to create a certain type of content on a regular basis. I am currently following a channel where they had for a year or two made the channel their only priority other than family and had a set schedule where every Monday was the same category of video, Tuesday another category, etc. and took weekends off. They couldn’t sustain this kind of schedule for the long haul (also real life got in the way) and they stopped making those kinds of videos and went into occasional videos and only one video a week or every other week that was back to their roots that the channel was founded upon. Now this person just puts out live stream videos every couple of days to a week or so and one back to roots video here and there and that’s it. Were people upset this channel wasn’t like it used to be, sure but this person always chooses to look on the bright side of things and they have a very loyal fan base that will watch videos no matter what the content. I think you have fans like that who will continue to subscribe to you and watch whatever content you decide to put out there. I remember about 2 years ago you made a video saying you were going to slow down the production of this channel because of many things but one was that you got a non KZbin related job. Was I sad, sure. Did I rant and rave about it happening and refuse to watch your videos because you slowed down your content? Of course not! I wasn’t sure what the Recast videos were all about and it’s my own narrow thinking that made it so I didn’t watch any of them and just waited to see what non recast content you would eventually put out. I got excited when I saw this video in my feed because I knew we were all getting an update from you on where things stand. Channels can grow and evolve as much as they want and if people have a problem with that then they shouldn’t be subscribers anymore. I know people will not like me for saying this but it’s more about the passion for what a person is doing rather than the view count, likes or any other measure of exposure. If the passion is gone then why keep doing something you don’t love. I think for now you should for sure take a break from making any new videos of any kind, really do some soul searching and when you have come up with a long term plan, make a new video and let us know what’s up, good or bad. I will continue to support you until the day you say this channel is no more. Have been for over 11 years and you haven’t disappointed!

When I started watching you around ten years ago, you were a pioneer of this Nick/CN/Disney Channel cartoon analysis genre here on KZbin (It may have been just ranting back then, but it was still great hearing someone speak the truth.) I've stuck with you ever since because you gave me what I needed most at that time. You gave me the comfort of knowing that I was not the only one who was concerned with the declining state of the cartoons I loved to watch so much as a kid. So many of my peers growing up left TV cartoons behind them, but I never did, and I still haven't. I think this is partly thanks to your videos being there for me those years ago. I've grown older with you, PieGuyRulz, and I can understand very well the troubles that come with declining passion for something (My hard-fought BFA is a testament to that.) You are the captain of your own ship, so you sail it the way that you feel is best. Since your rant videos ten years ago, the TV cartoon analysis community on KZbin has exploded! I'll be happy with whatever you create because I like you, and whatever you don't make, there will likely be someone else covering for you by having a video of their own. Thank you PieGuy. P.S. If you ever need some extra motivation, I recommend listening to "Move Along" by The All-American Rejects. :)
