A major strength of the Ranger games was the story. By putting more focus on that over the Gotta Catch ‘em All, the NCPs and areas could focus on incorporating towns, forests and other environments into the plot. I honestly feel Pokemon Ranger would be a great basis for a movie, as it de-emphasises battling (which the Detective Pikachu movie mostly avoided primary through Rhyme City banning battles) and is more about people, Pokemon and the world they live in.
@NA-xp2cr4 жыл бұрын

@@jbcatz5 no there is a Pokemon ranger movie. A quick Google search brings up results.
@jbcatz54 жыл бұрын
Joey K Live action! While the Manaphy movie tied into Pokémon Ranger it followed the Pokémon movie design more than the Pokémon Ranger game plot (right down to Ash saving the day) and served as a movie length advert for the Manaphy event. A live action movie closer reflecting the Pokémon Ranger games has lots of potential to showcase the environment, Pokémon and how people interact with both. Detective Pikachu showed this in an urban setting, so getting out into nature proper (not just the Torterra garden) would be able to contrast that.
@NA-xp2cr4 жыл бұрын
@@jbcatz5 detective Pikachu was a one off. Pokemon isn't ready to go in a live action direction yet. Their starting point IMHO should not be Pokemon ranger.

What I loved about this series apart from just loving the series was how much it expanded the world. There was actually people doing alternate jobs to trainer, gym leader, shopkeeper or the like. Also gameplay wise I enjoyed that as a human character, you (player) would actually do the equivalent to battling Pokemon in a much more fast paced less turn based environment.

God I miss Pokemon ranger, I spend the entire 3ds's lifespan hoping they'd make a new game and they didn't. I really hope they make one for switch, which honestly seems less likely since switch doesn't use a stylus so they'd have to rework the gameplay, but god I'm hoping for a new release.

Yeah honestly, if they ever made another Ranger game, say on the Switch, and I doubt they will, I would imagine it would have completely revamped controls. While it could work in more traditional way in handheld (same with how Mario Maker has touch screen in handheld), I think they would completely redesign how the game works otherwise. I think it could be cool to have more realtime almost JRPG system where you can either switch between partner Pokemon or just have them be automated AI like in the original ranger games. Otherwise, you would be the trainer character and could capture Pokemon using motion controls and buttons to aim and launch something from the capture styler at the Pokemon and then use some sort of input (probably motion controls) to make motions/loops and attempt to capture the Pokemon. Now do I think this would happen? Nope, but I think it's one of the ways they could adapt the game to the Switch.
@ejmeddoms6134 жыл бұрын
if they did adapt it for the switch they could make custom joycons shaped like a capture styler, they could probably even make different ones based on each ranger game's styler bc i mean i sure as hell would buy them

I would still like to see Pokemon Ranger make a reappearance, and it doesn’t even have to retain the loop drawing aspect. Then there was the backstory with the king who fell to darkness after banishing 2 of his 3 children & then exiled himself with each of those 4 becoming a different crystal. Fragments of the 3 crystals who represented the children would be used to create the Final Upgrade to the Styler that would be able to loop Darkrai.

Whenever someone mentions Mystery Dungeon 2, it's with all the same things I want to say about Ranger 3.

Pokémon ranger was the only spin games I was really into. I wish it would return

I remember getting this game as a kid, and I never could beat the rampardos at the cliffs. I left the game for years after. came back when I was around 13. I beat it then, spending days upon days to beat it.

A Lite exclusive game would no sense and would definitely hurt sales.

The only thing I see could happen is if GF makes a mobile pokemon ranger game, but I feel like it wouldn’t be as fleshed out as the DS games

I could see the capture working with joystick controls very well like hold down say the A button to start capturing then use the joystick don't really matter which to form the circles around the pokemons. Think on how they did Skyward Sword for the switch as originally that game was for the wii and needed motion controls but you can just use a controller by using the joystick to move the sword arm. Like it can be done even in 3D just you would have to convence them that it is worth it and would sell well

Wish they could release the trilogy on Nintendo switch. Such a great franchise
