Hello, @Negative_Legend, Have you ever heard about the game called May's Mysteries The Secret of Dragonville? Cause if not I deffinitely recommend you to check it out. May's Mysteries came out on NDS and PC and was HEAVILY inspired by Layton. To see just HOW heavily it was inspired by Layton it is recommended that you play NDS version.

It's interesting to see an American's perspective on this franchise. In Europe, we had much more marketing and it was well promoted that the Spectre's Call was a prequel. It was probably thanks to Nintendo of Europe publishing most of Level-5. It also helped there other franchises for a time, such as Inazuma Eleven and Yokai Watch I hope that Nintendo or even some other company will publish their games outside of Japan

I just got PL vs PW for all of my money and I think it's okay if you skip it because the puzzles are not as great as the main Layton games. Apparently people can't shut up about DC whenever LV5 is brought up, so I'm glad this one video is free of them. Usually their game announcements are spammed with "DC3 when?" type of blokes and it gets tiring really fast. The thing is, LV5 has no control over the Dark Cloud franchise since it belongs to Sony 100%. Part of the reason why Level-5 can't include DC in their anniversary illustrations along with the rest of their franchises.
@phantasmch3 жыл бұрын
@Grima the Fell Dragon Usually whenever Level-5 dared to do a big announcement of something not related to DC people kept spamming DC and DC3 when. People always miss the fact that LV5 originally worked with Sony's ideas since they started off as a developer company, not a publishing one. DC was more of a tech demo to see if a Zelda-like game would do well, while DC2 exists because Hino was not satisfied with the first game and asked for a soft reboot (according to RPGfan), hence the reason why it is not a direct sequel but there are many paralels with the original.

Honestly as someone who's also played all 6 Layton games, I always felt there was some serious disconnect between the originals and prequels 🤔 Like it was obvious they wanted to close the series with Lost/Unwound Future but either demand was too high to justify ending the franchise or they felt they had to explain why Layton hangs around with some preteen boy who isn't related to him 🤣 The prequels also felt kinda rushed too. Lost Spectre/Spectre's Call felt like it had a shitload of content cut from it, so the story felt a bit unfinished. Miracle Mask felt like it was written in one take since the ending flies off in a completely different direction entirely to the rest of the game. And Azran Legacy is just a 10 mile long ass pull parade lmao Also Pandora's/Diabolical Box is my favourite game, hello from the UK 👀🇬🇧

As for my favorite Level 5 game, that would be Yo-kai Watch 3. That series is criminally underrated and really deserves more attention (especially since it would increase the chances of a Yo Kai Watch 4 localization...)

I watched this anime movie on RTL 2 (German one) more than a decade ago, still remember it as being interesting

This franchise was the best selling Nintendo franchises in the UK for a very long time. Every store shelf was packed with them with every new release. I think when Lost Future came out Toys R' Us had like nearly 1500 copies in store. I don't know, I was only like 4 or 5 at the time, but I can remember every store I went to Professor Layton was one of the most trending game franchises, along with Halo, Batman Arkham and Uncharted.

Okay here’s an idea. Catrielles mystery game has come and launched on the switch. So that means that touchscreen games are indeed possible on switch. So what about an €60 package with a collection of the Layton games. With new and improved cutscenes. I know this seems unlikely but they already revamped some games for IOS release so it wouldn’t be a big job

Professor Layton was my fav game as a kid. When they switched to 3Ds I couldn’t play anymore because I only had the regular ds.

Im playing that newest switch game right now. I haven't played a prof layton game in a while but even without Hershel in the game its still a whiff of nostalgia and i absolutely love it.

Watching all these videos after NWOS was announced is so good, like, "It's not over! There's more!"

The movie was so good. My mind was blown when I first watched it. I didn't knew it was possible for a gaming franchise to make a movie

You think you could cover the beloved and barried Rhythm thief? And why it had no sequel?

I loved the game where it was a crossover with Phoenix Wright... Yes that was my first game and I adored it.
