i think it’s very important to point out that spencer and ryan had main concerns for how the band was perceived (image wise) and so during the nothing rhymes with circus tour everyone was not only surprised by fever’s lyrical advancement in the emo scene, but also how the tour seemed much more like an experience (think vegas show) this is what took them into stardom, they were doing everything than all the other bands around them

I think a lot of people dislike post-ryan panic! because of the fact that the band name was really only used as a marketing ploy than sticking to the original vision of being a band? Especially when Spencer left, that's when panic! stops being a band and mores a brand imo. I mean what's more marketable? Panic! At The Disco, successful band from the 2000s with massive hits and cult following, or Brendon Urie the solo artist? I don't even think it was done with particularly malicious intent-definitely seems like a label decision rather than Brendons anyway. There is definitely criticism to be had with the later material, but I think there would be a whole lot less criticism about it if it wasn't under panics name. Hopefully this makes sense maybe, panic! is one of those bands I am fascinated in and will definitely be making like a 2 hour long video essay on lol
@EternallyUncoolTrevor4 ай бұрын
@@kit9570 maybe. It’s a good theory. Labels do a lot of shady things. But people act like Brendon isn’t an OG member of the band. Is he a founding member? No. But he’s still been there since the beginning. So it was still Panic but with different members filling in. A lot of bands have come down to just the original singer and no other original members. I just think certain Panic fans have this idea of Ryan as the true tortured genius who had everything stolen from him by big bad Brendon. But that’s not true. Brendon could’ve gone under a solo name but I feel like he wanted to keep the band going. I don’t know. I could also do a whole hours long essay on this haha. But I get where you’re coming from.

I think the problem I have with everything panic! related is that nowadays people put Brendon down as if he's the biggest pile of trash ever whilst putting Ryan Ross (who we haven't seen is so long) on a pedestal. I thought things would change with fans of the older albums growing up but they have been so immature to the point where no one is allowed to be a late panic! or Brendon Urie fan without getting shit on. It's completely ridiculous tbh Personally I absolutely love the album that the young veins made and I love every panic! album. They both mutually agreed so long ago to split up, the entire situation of people trying to put Brendon down is ridiculous and should be outdated by now. Even this very video, I was scared would be yet another one of someone shitting on Brendon and not taking any criticism, shitting on their last album because I genuinely feel as if there is no place anymore where someone can like Panic! at the disco openly and proudly without people wanting to bully you and it really sucks because there are still a lot of fans out there but they're kinda forced to be quiet because of all the hardcore Ryan stans. I was there in late 08- early 09, during We're So Blogging, the "To Whom It May Concern" split announcement, into Take A Vacation and Vices and Virtues. I remember feeling sad about the parting of the ways but not that Panic wouldn't be good solely because Ryan left. Mainly because Brendon and Spencer were as big an influence on the band's sound and equally talented on their instruments during the Fever and Pretty Odd years. If my interest in Panic waned is because the whole thing just couldn't keep afoot after their third record and I just lost contact with them as they fell apart. PS: apparently, the guys were already big into the early 60s sound when they got into the studio for Fever and had to be talked into keeping their sound. Had they had it their way the first album would be a mix of the more classical sounding side B of Fever and Pretty Odd.
