My wild guess is that the Architect and the Oracle weren't purged by the Analyst. Being a minor program he cannot delete the kernel of the Matrix, not even the main debugger. He tried to hack the code inside Neo, which means that Neo has a copy of the code of the Architect inside him, which allows him to access the mainframe as the Architect does, this was told by the Oracle, and this is the reason of his powers inside and outside the Matrix. Now we see that even Trinity has some code inside her, and this means that even her has the access for the mainframe. Being unable to decode those 2 codes the Analyst continues tricking and altering the system in an upper level. That's why when both Trin and Neo gain Godmode powers the Analyst is no longer in control. This is basically the reason they're still alive and the main reason why the Analyst has no power to delete them... I miss some informations but I have a strong feeling that the black cat Deja vu is related to the Architect and Oracle, this because the cat could be a cage where they're blocked in, like a firewall aka trainman. Having access to the mainframe is allowed to the ones that came from the Matrix itself, and this explains that both Neo and Trinity were, by design, programs installed into human bodies to fulfill the path of the One, upgrading the Architect and the Oracle.
@user-mq4xp1gq3q Жыл бұрын
Who says The Analyst is a minor program? The Architect, if around still, may be considered a minor program now in this new matrix, the same way Merovingian was previously with The Architect running his version of the matrix, or the same way Neo was powerless fighting The Trainman at Mobil Avenue. Deus ex Machina created The Architect, which created the matrix version we know. During the civil war Deus ex Machina was likely replaced as the leader of the machines with new leaders (probably multiple being referenced as "the suits") emerging which then created The Analyst to create a new iteration of the matrix. The Analyst talks about rebuilding Neo, which means Neo's code is not original. This would explain why The Analyst had so much trouble recreating the anomaly code reaction that he was seeking. Additionally, Neo and Trinity appearing 'in control' may be another illusionary layer or manipulation from The Analyst in this new matrix. For all we know this new matrix could be just another modal for recreating the anomaly code. This might explain why this new matrix looks off in appearance and seemingly smaller in scale compared to what we saw in the original.
@lairbox Жыл бұрын
@@user-mq4xp1gq3q The Analyst is a minor program compared to The Architect, by his admission he referenced that after rebuilding Neo he tried to activate his source code, the reason is because he was unable to have full direct access to the mainframe, which is a prerogative of the Architect and Neo. This has been explained later in the movie.
@user-mq4xp1gq3q Жыл бұрын
@@lairbox At the end it was revealed that the suits could not activate the fail safe, and The Analyst knew that would be impossible without Neo and Trinity's source code now that they are no longer in their pods, but The Analyst did in fact rebuild and activate the anomaly code. The Analyst didn't understand it at first, but then discovered it was the combination of both Neo and Trinity in close proximity that was able to activate it. If The Analyst is considered a minor character because he couldn't reboot the matrix without direct access to the source code, then so was The Architect who also could not reboot the matrix after the Smith virus nearly took it over.

The Frenchman looks exactly like the Train Man did. The Merovingian had to stay locked in purgatory while the new Matrix came into effect, he has to stay there in the shadows until the civil war caused by Neo passes. He is hoping that the war will favor him, he may be pulling strings somewhere.

I think the Architect and Oracle aren't merely separate entities to the Matrix. They were created for the sole purpose of creating the Matrix and thus, I think, are integral parts of it. I feel like deleting them would be like removing a computer's BIOS and operating system. Yes, you can do that, but it means starting completely from scratch, which is something I don't think the Analyst has the patience for. The Analyst observes and tweaks, but he doesn't create.

I think the architect and the Oracle are outside the analysts matrix. If you think about it, Neo and Trinity where held in like a sandbox, the Analyst drawing power from their closeness to run the system. The key to his matrix, the cat. Giving Neo and Trinity the ability to exit the sandbox and do as they please. The suits, higher programs, possibly, showing that the Oracle and Architect are still around. So this matrix could be seen as a seperate program to the original matrix, itself, meaning that what Neo and Trinity are about to do, could purge from the sandbox into the actual matrix, like a programmer/hacker does after making sure that no spyware, spam, virus etc exists in the file they just downloaded before moving to their system.

The Merovingian seemed to have so much leeway as an Exile in the Megacity R&D. Much of what the Architect and Oracle were doing was being tracked by the Merovingian this it is possible that the Merovingian was in good standing with the Authorities/Suits despite being an Exile if only in title alone. Perhaps the Merovingian was planning to one day escape the Matrix by uploading himself to Neo's brain and Persephone to Trinity's brain once the One had become powerful enough as an Omnibus. I think in the precious seconds before Neo-Smith was electrified inside and outside something happened Neo-Smith's residuals remained with everyone he'd taken over. Neo-Smith Omnibus was much calm compared to the second most powerful, Smith-Oracle, and this is probably why the Authorities/Suits gave the OK to resurrect Neo and Trinity again because Neo-Smith must have done something to the system prior to the overload event. This is the reason Trinity seems to have slightly more power than Neo in Resurrections in the end in Mega City. The Analyst galvanized Neo with fear and anxiety to waterdown anger and resentment towards the machines that may arise within the One. Controlling Neo's emotions and senses so much to overwhelm him with guilt and doubt. So in conclusion something major must be happening, a new power struggle and the Analyst would have rather let Neo-Smith divided with Trinity at the helm to buy time for Sati and him (yes I do believe her helping Neo and Trinity was a plan between her and the Analyst) before the start of a new crisis. I think Smith must have become aware at some point long before the actual Resurrection film takes place and was the reason for Neo's obsession with creating the Modal in the first place en route to WB demanding a new "game" with or without Deus Machina.

The Analyst kept referring to "The Suits" as programs more powerful and with more authority than him, and who better to be the top "suit" but the Architect? Maybe the other "suits" are the upgrade agents from Reloaded, now promoted to executive positions and acting as the Architects own personal enforcers/bodyguards, like how Seraph was for the Oracle. This would explain why when Trinity rejected the simulation, "The Suits" trying to reset the Matrix to a previous version...the version of the original trilogy.

He's letting the Analyst handle the day-to-day operations of the simulation because he gets results; 99.9% efficiency as opposed to the Architect's 99%. And technically, the truce may still be upheld to some extent. All that Neo asked for was the freed humans to be left alone. Yes, I.O. is in hiding, but if the Analyst really wanted to he could easily find it with a deliberate search, and aside from Neo and Trinity he probably didn't bat an eye at "copper-tops" taking the Red Pill since it happens so infrequently and he didn't consider them to be a threat. I didn't think that Resurrections took place in the 'real' Matrix at all. I thought that was intentional on the part of Lana Wachowski, who wanted to both satisfy the studios demands for another sequel, while staying true to the original films. Doesn't Bugs stress in the first few scenes that what they've been observing is essentially a simulation of the Matrix, more like a sub-program for running hypotheticals. I don't recall anything later that says they're not still there. This fits with Neo and Trinity both having different bodies there, and the sense of dislocation that they feel. Also, this is the very reason given for why Morpheus is a different character. The Analyst is running the program part of Neo and Trinity (in the original films they were always human / program hybrids, via 'treats' given to them by the Oracle, hence why this hybridisation power got passed to Agent Smith and turned into a virus) which was saved by the machines when the human parts of the characters died. He's essentially tinkering with these programs within his own little constructed world, and everything they're told in it is a lie, including the parts about the civil war. This is why they're able to set themselves free at the end, but only inside the sub-program - it's the only place they exist. Given all of this, the Architect and the re-set Oracle and everyone else in the main Matrix would still be there - we just never see them in this story, because that's not where any of it takes place. The film is all about exploitation, and the repetition inherent in that. This interpretation of the setting fits that exactly.

If to say that the AI Codes have a hardware plugged in somewhere was removed or destroyed would be different. But I also somewhat feel like the AI have a hivemind master controller somewhere that they're all not totally sentient individuals, at least not specifically when it comes to what's inside the Matrix versus the Real. When Matrix Reloaded introduced 'new' agents, I don't feel like the previous agents were deleted or killed. I don't think a Programme is deleted unless they really really annoy the wrong higher up, they are more likely removed from operation status and held in a state of abeyance in a no operational state. Those who are needed and well be needed again would either be replaced or "switched off" the exceptions to that might be those who's code no longer makes sense in the new context. like the twins.

It always bothered me that they didn't use geothermal energy, or nuclear. They went straight to humans, that's gotta be a whole lot less efficient than the alternatives.
@philgreen8101 Жыл бұрын
The original idea (rejected by The Suits, unironically) was that humans were used for the processing power of the brain (see also Dollhouse's Attic). But that was considered too cerebral, pun intended, so got changed to the nonsensical-even-if-you-spend-only-half-a-second-thinking-about-it thermal power coupled with "a form of fusion" reason that doesn't get close to passing a Treknobabble test. So it gets glossed over. Of course, this could easily be reworked to just be a cover story (like all the illusions / lies / deceptions already presented), and the machines _do_ use geothermal power and humans _are_ really used as processing units. Hence the civil war is not about "I don't have enough power to stay alive as a squiddy" but "I don't have enough _processing_ power to stay alive as a squiddy"

I think what goes over most peoples head due to societies secularism, is the latent divinity in people. I beleive thats what the machines feed on, amd perhaps use it for computation. The infinite potential in humans are what the machines probably exploit.

@@philgreen8101The Architect is based on a little known character called Dr. Cero. His creation, the self-aware G.O.O.D., underpins the entire Matrix phenomenon. Marvel UK handed the Wachowskis a plagiarized concept in 1993 while they wrote Ectokid. Backstory for a proposed new team of superheroes, they’d lifted from an unknown budding comic book artist’s unsolicited source material: an inchoate narrative, proposed in 92/93. They added bits and pieces from here and there to fill out the blanks, including their own musings: gleanings from various IPs. The battery thing is just a less convoluted, illogical premise necessary to exploit the stolen work. There’d be equal derision had they used the suggested angle. Why would machines require human processing power? To what end could such a thing offer benefits? Processing units-like the battery thing-to achieve exactly what-would cost energy. If machines became sentient, additional processing power is needless. Plus, all mineral deposits being freed up means they can manufacture endless, low maintenance CPUs. The Matrix is superfluous to the plot. The work is a stolen story wrapped in new age padding to present its transmutation. The Ciphermen script, upon which the Wachowskis made their names and fortunes, has no capricious reasoning for creating what became The Matrix.

@@-newuser-707 nah, even today we're still not sure how consciousness and stuff like that works, and in many senses the brain is much more power-efficient than a computer processor. They're completely different beasts, really. You could definitely technobabble-away that they needed brains, in addition to "processing units", to achieve and maintain their capacities (say, consciousness maybe), and even more so 20 years ago. Sure you could then maybe go for something like "why not a brain in a vat" and that could be philosophy-babbled away, since the question of the role of the body in consciousness is also storied
@user-sl6gn1ss8p6 ай бұрын
@@philgreen8101 Yeah, that's way better, but the whole power-crisis is still a little contrived. Like, if more people are leaving, why not just ramp up human production? Considering the human cities and the population within the matrix, full-on civil war sounds like a bit of an overreaction for a temporary issue.

The Matrix has to be perfected so that that feeling of falling in love with here...living with here...having the first meeting...the last words...the struggles in between are forever. Why not use nuclear or fusion power as an energy source?
@WhyteLis215 ай бұрын
From what I've read around the internet, it would seem if true, the original Matrix story was the robot wanted our creative minds in order to keep us in check, us from harming ourselves and especially, them. Also, I think it is use as a form of punishment to us for what we did to them. Sort of like a never ending video game punishment for us to live in the Matrix. Not to further exploring alternative energy sources or to solve the cloud blocking the sky. I think, the using us as human battery and the destruction of the human race or city like Zion was just an lie to keep us in a never ending loop until Neo and Smith broke that loop hole and game they were playing with us. I feel, this version of AI isn't really about destroying humanity as a whole or absorbing new knowledge else where like the Borg from Star Trek or Skynet from Terminator. Just my opinion here.

I think the Analyst's characterization of the Architect suggests the Architect was a positivist and, in his understanding of human psyche, a behavioralist at best. The Oracle, an "intuitive" program, appears to have a sort of depth psychology approach. The Oracle and Architect did collaborate (but not too closely) on another path of the One cycle, but the Oracle was willing to allow a far greater development of the One, betting it could end the war. So, given the rise of the Analyst, I think definitely he valued the continuing, but severely controlled, development of the One. But not the continued development of either the Oracle or the Architect. The Analyst considers himself a blend of the two, but I think the Analyst combines their worst reductive tendencies (obsessive manipulation of humans) and demonstrates none of the Oracle's intuitive trust of human emotions or developmental potential. If the Analyst had truly sampled the last iteration of the Oracle's code, he would have her intuitive gifts, particularly faith enough to let humans a modicum of actual choice. The fate of the Architect would also seem to be indicated by the Analyst's disdain of empirical or objective realism. Like some of the other commentators, the code of the One is the crucial sources of any of these humanist qualities we might have credited the Oracle or the Architect with by the end of the trilogy. I believe the code of the One was uniquely treasured by all the Matrix AIs, not only to perfect future iterations of the One, but to be shared out as much as possible as a benchmark of the quality of the Matrix as a perfect human prison. Whatever fools the One has to be considered successful advancement of the deception of the Matrix. Partly because the One recognizes its falseness so sharply, and partly because the One had remained, despite this, easy to control with emotional manipulation. This is where whatever movie IV is, is relevant, because it shifts the import of the One somewhat to Trinity. Which brings with it a lot of questions over who is Trinity really? If Trin can be a One, what does that mean for the One? And if the One can degrade in realization or power, what does that mean for the One? What does it mean to be Two, or Three? I don't know. But things begin to make a bit more sense if One code is being shifted into different programs or humans. It makes sense if the Analyst gave himself One code, but I just don't see it in his fairly reductive, retro conduct of disdain for human emotion. More likely all that good One code was squandered, except whatever Trinity got or developed on her own. The Matrix in IV is a degraded shadow of where it was at the end of III, and everyone is worse for it, except maybe Trinity. That suggests any AI capable of appreciating the peace was deleted.

I like your point of Neo being a bench mark for how well the system can trap the humans. I recently heard that some scientists don’t believe AI will be conscious until it is fully integrated into a quantum processing system. I think the the AI of the matrix traps the humans because it fears that without them being plugged in it will lose not an energy source, but a consciousness source that drives its desire to be and feel “real”. Neo and smith are a threat to that system because they have the power to free not only minds but programs from being AI to being more “real”. Ultimately I see the matrix as a battle ground for working out how to best integrate AGI and humanity bionically. It’s an alignment problem movie.

I have a question though, if the Oracle, the Architect, the Analyst and all those powerful programs have been created, then by whom have they been created? And if because they are created, does that mean that there is an all powerful master program or software or something that is actually in control? I mean, to be created means that there is a creator right? So whoever created these programs must be more powerful than his creations. What do you think?

I fail to see why the Architect wouldn't have a back door. If he had successfully maintained 'The One' Reset/Loop at least a half dozen times, and bore witness to the Smith Virus, it would not go beyond reason to presume that a steady decline in power would lead to an overall system breakdown, hence the Machine Civil War. When such an eventuality transpired, securing a means to escape would've be prudent. So where is the Architect? Still adhering to his sword, he said he wouldn't meet Neo again...perhaps he's simply waiting for Neo to die again, not like he hasn't seen it happen before. The Architect has nothing but time, time to wait and see...

Hey dude. Idk if youve ever addressed this or not but why did the architect give neo a choice at all? Neo made it to him and that was supposed to be it right? The system was supposed to reboot and the machines would exterminate most of Zion. So why did he even present him with the option to save Trinity?
@salvatronprime9882 Жыл бұрын
The Architect told Neo "there are some losses we are prepared to accept" or something along those lines. The system would crash and all humans would die, but the machines would simply go into a low power state while restoring a previous copy of the matrix. The Architect had to let Neo choose or the program would crash anyway. So it was a final game of chicken basically.
