Sadly one of these young men, committed suicide when he became an adult because he couldn't handle his past 😢😢😢 Edgardo started to abuse if him sexually and Edgar which was their manager, brought the Menéndez father to Edgardos home where all Menudos was and that's when this nonster also abused them sexually. But none of them ever wanted to bring it up!!! This ex manager needs to go to jail he lives in a nice home in Puerto Rico... He needs to pay for his crimes...

I think that's pretty safe to assume! It's vastly underreported even when it's adult men abusing young girls. It's always going to be worse, and significantly, when it's adult men with boys. If the boy is gay but not out, I think it's going to be difficult to report it without being outed against his will; if he IS out already (at that young an age!), that fact is going to make reporting it even more complicated psychologically than it already is. And if he's straight, it's going to feel hugely shameful, much more so than when both parties are straight and the assault is in synch with their genders, because the violation of his gender is an additional thing and an additional source of shame in itself. Societal attitudes surrounding homosexuality are responsible for a great deal of the disparity. In the 1980s these had only barely begun to loosen outside of the major cities. Hispanic culture has traditionally been very Catholic, and therefore very traditional and even slower than the larger American society to accept any deviation from the norm in sexual behavior. Any boy who had been molested that way would've been deeply ashamed, and had reason to be afraid that further shame would be projected onto him by other men and boys who would, in their ignorance, have said things like "He must've been willing or it couldn't happen". It's really not so different from what girls faced when trying to report abuse by men. They both would get shamed, but differently. The girl faced slut shaming, but at least she wasn't accused of acts that were unnatural. The boy faced exactly that, in his shaming - the idea that he'd been a willing participant in acts that were not only sinful, but unnatural.

That definitely could be true. I was abused at a young age by 2 males & as I grew up, I always just had an attraction to women. To this day, I wonder if I was never abused, would I be straight? Never heard of Menudo until the allegations of one of the Menendez’s brothers cousins made the claims of his Uncle or their Father’s abuse. I did research on Menudo and found out Ricky Martin was a member of that band.

In junior high, Menudo was becoming very popular, especially the song "If you're not here. " The boys hated that song! So we made sure to play it a lot! 🤣

It wasn't just jealousy. Everything they did, from the ridiculous outfits they wore to the dance moves they performed, was pretty gay. I say that with no malice! It's just a fact that any straight guy watching them was immediately going to pick up on that, and typically be put off by it. What was always amazing to me was that they, and all the other boy bands who were targeting the same demographic, were so attractive to that target audience of pre-teen girls. But that's exactly the point - the key is that they were cute enough to fantasize about, while being absolutely SAFE, completely non-threatening, due to having been pretty effectively emasculated. What could be safer as an object of preteen fantasy than boys who would never even dream of trying to fuck you?

Robi Rosa is LATINO. The video says he was Menudo's first "Non-Latino" member, however this is not true. Robi was born in New York to Puerto Rican parents. Ray Reyes also was born in New York, but grew up in Puerto Rico.

This guy was Jose Menendez partner for raping kids. There were two members of menudo boys caught edgardo raping ricky martin. He sodomized ricky on the desk.
