I like a lot of things about this story, including the implication of either a psychic link or a subconscious memory shared between Chet and the Turtles. Peter Laird's future-set story "Old Times" showed that an older Donatello named his computer AI "Chet" and I'd like to think he chose that random name because it was a memory lingering in his mind (also why the Turtles seem to "see" that name every in the form of those Easter eggs). That the AI "Chet" was the last character elderly Donatello speaks to in the Epilogue from the Tales of the TMNT TPB, and if you see that as being the night old Donatello died, then in a way it means Chet was there for the creation of the Turtles and their end. It's all up to interpretation, but that Mirage leaves so much up to the reader to piece together themselves is something I've always loved about that gang's storytelling approach.

Really wish that Chet in future TMNT projects will become a supporting character, where after he learned that his pet turtles are alive and well, he goes to look for them and found their secret home. He and his turtles are happily reunited.

I never thought that one day they would dedicate a story to the boy who bought the turtles! He has always given me the idea of ​​being a superfluous character (so much so that in the animated transpositions he even disappeared). Now I wonder if there's a story for Matt too. But I think it's just a reference to Daredevil as the two authors loved that superhero.

I actually like that the turtles' bandanas were accidentally colored in the story. It makes it so that the story could take place in almost any TMNT continuity.

Imagine an episode of the 2012 TMNT where they meet Chet and he tells them about the 4 baby turtles he bought and Splinter connected the dots and welcomes the boy who made their family possible.

Interesting, didn't know Chet returned later on in one of the Turtle Soup comics. Also, fun fact, the boy who lost the turtles in the 2003 continuity was shown as an adult with a job as a cop before meeting the turtles after 15 years in the short-lived TMNT 2003 Dreamwave comic that like Mirage Chet's return as an adult is in a gray limbo of whether it's actually canon to that continuity or not. Also, I would really love a Turtle Nexus video on that strange little anomaly known as the TMNT Dreamwave comics because I didn't see much discussion surrounding it in the TMNT fandom or in general and would love a video done in the same vein as your other videos.😁

The reason dreamwaves tie-in comic to the 2003 show was short lived was because the owners of dreamwave ,Pat and Roger Lee, were using company money to buy sports cars, and they soon realized they couldn't pay so many writers and artists on time, so a lot of new books dreamwave had in 2003 were canceled after a few issues and ones the that hadn't released never released one issue. Then after 2004, dreamwave closed it's doors after so much of their staff quit after months of not getting paid.

In the og comics I believe the turtles origin was a reference to Daredevil's origin with the kid possibly being Matt Murdock. It was more of gag than anything

Why did you re-upload the same video with a different narration?

I am replacing all the videos that had that narrator. However, it is never a re-upload. I do corrections, add more information, and overall change the script and animations. Sometimes it's a brand new video with the same topic. I explained this a year ago, but those videos are stopping people (the wider audience) from enjoying these videos. So for this channel to improve, those videos need to be replaced. In most cases I found corrections to make, and new information to add. In the case of Chet, there wasn't much to do, but there is extra information there, and it is a clearer video.

That's Daredevil's origin. Kevin and Peter simply did an "alternate take" on the accident. I went over this in my "origin of the TMNT" video I recently released.
