This is really bad news. I'm in the parts accumulation phase of copying your build (with slightly less power). One of the biggest reasons I chose this path is for its reliability while still running a turbo. One good thing is I snagged a motor with just 45k miles that hasn't been sitting long. Any clue what caused the oil starvation? BTW thank you so much for your blueprint. There is no way I would feel confident enough to do this without it.

Hey John! This was just some random failure, definitely nothing due to the power level. I wouldn’t let it stop you from doing the swap.

Bearings seize for a reason. ...over rev. Oil pump failure, bolts backing off. What did the bearing show?.

I was just at the gap!!! It was in a 2010 Hyundai accent though. Lol but when you are in NW ga and heading to NE pa you just have to hit it!! And I agree about the power. I had a blast in the accent. Working that steering wheel though cause the ratio is god awful slow.

This didn’t fail because of power, so being built wouldn’t really have changed anything. But yeah, I’m planning on building it in case I want to turn it up in the future, I’ll have a built block waiting.

I forget if you have the modified Type S oil pump on your original K24, if not you gotta get it on the new one before it's in

Thanks for another great video! Do you have any bright ideas on how to get the front PPF bolt out? It's rusted fast from driving it in the winter in PA. I tried a Milwaukee high torque and a air gun connected to an air hose with 450 lb feet of torque and no go after soaking it with penetrate for over 24hrs. I have the engine apart from doing valve guides and I want to replace the clutch. HELP PLEASE! Best Always,
