I bought meself a tdr250 2 stroke as my first bike this year and holy shit these things are fast, im thinking to buy a dt125r also just to keep the 2 strokes alive

You've likely sorted something by now for the headlight but if not, the quickest, simplest fix is to fit a higher wattage bulb - the originals are a 40/45 watt, there are 80/100 standard and 90/100 Xenon available, the latter actually being cheaper and that's what I have in mine now, its a seperate AC lighting coil feeding the headlight and it has the capacity for the brighter bulb *Lucas H4 P45T 12v 100/80 watt* Maybe that helps someone!

It looks such a lovely bike such a beauty love the sound of a 2 stroke Miss that sound like a swarm of bees after you. I would suggest LED on indicators and headlight and a new battery to power them all? Its getting harder to get vintage bikes now. And yep lad I think i'll remove my pegs too good idea weight saving. Love the blue mate, but aye keep it ☺

Clutch slipping

You can use led's in your front headlight. But if you go led. You must change everything else. Indicators rear brake light. As to not over load the loom. As led takes more power then normal bulbs. It cause the normal bulbs to become dimmer. Ide advise putting a better batterie on then the standard version. As the normal battery is under powered to try deliver power to both. If all are the same lighting you have no problems bro. Also if you do off road in get a tale tidy and they come led fitted

@@RHauto yeah dude. Bad batteries could meen that you have had a bad leak from the eahaust rubber. And shorted the battery. Replace exhaust rubber and batterie also clean all oil left by exhaust leak. And your good to go. Anymore problems buddy let me know I have the 1990 dt125r sat in bits atm. As I'm rebuilding her from me blowing her up. I have led rear brakes and indicators but not got led on my headlight. And you notice the difference between the 2. Led's suck the juice from the headlight. And my high beam was vertually non existent. So I plan to replace my headlight. With led. Make sure to clean the batterie conectors. And put some wd40 on them when you replace the batterie. Also wd40 at the beginning of every winter. Just the connectors bro

If you don't know what I'm on about with the exhaust rubber. When you take your exhaust off. you have the front pipe with either a steal washer or a copper 1 like me, and you have a rear pipe. 2 parts. Them 2 parts slide into each other with a hard rubber seal. It's the hard rubber seal that breaks and when it does it Pisces 2 stroke all over the batterie compartment. And sometime just all over the batterie and the bk of the plastics. This causes dt batteries to die. Due to heat and dirty oil build up. How to stop it. Inspect the rubber by pulling batterie plastic off. Grab a kitchen roll piece and wrap it around the exhaust rubber with engine running. Leave for a min and take it off and you can see if any oil has sneaked past the rubber. Any oil you find could indicate that the rubbers broken. If you 'smell petrol or oil on the tissue. Broken seal. So just check it when cleaning the bike, If you don't clean your bike check this part once a week . But only if you use it frequently. It will save you £30 also if you don't use the bike often. Remove the batterie from the bike and trickle charge the batterie to give it more energy. As you're batterie doesn't stop producing power and will loose energy over a long period of time. But if you remove it and charge it, it stops producing energy and starts storing it instead. Also can save you £30 in long run.you can also do this with cars and campervans

@@CLARKIE-ttv last owner put two hose clamps around that exhaust rubber and it never came with a battery so that kinda explains what happened. At least the oil stopped the bike from rusting anyway haha. Cheers for the help bud!

@@RHauto Best solution is to put in a new TRW or EBC kit. Springs, plates, and metal separators.
