Another great video! Much respect Dude! Love your mission to help people understand these awesome creatures we share the world with and there’s something….kind of like “everyday man” about you. The videos are great and look super professional but there’s still a vibe about them that’s a bit more low key. It’s like the blue collar, just get out there and do it yourself without having some giant cable network behind you or something. I think it speaks more to the working class guy who gets out there and just puts in the work. I love that, keep it up!

Hey! I’m not from the south, I hadn’t even heard of one of these before. I had a job doing wetland delineations bushwacking across undeveloped land. Pushed my arm against the full length of one of these things. Very painful that travelled into my armpit. Not an experience I was prepared for. You could see the shape outline and injection points later.

intereSTING indeed! I came across one back in 2016, that's the only time i've seen one in the wild. this video does give me comfort knowing that it's not as bad as people like to say. I have a high threshold for pain so should i ever brush up against one, watching this makes me think i won't have a problem handling it.

Great videos as always! Caterpillars are interesting. In South America the Lonomia obliqua and the Lonomia achelous caterpillars are very feared. From what I've understood the human reaction to their venom can be, or usually is, quite serious.

These things are no joke! I have a scar on my left arm from one of those. When I was a kid I was jumping off my grandparents back deck into a pile of leaves and fell onto one of those. I don't remember if I got sick or not but it hurt like hell. I'm from Texas and down there we call them Wooly Caterpillars. They are a lot fatter than this one and have huge spikes that stand up off their bodies.

Thanks! I've been hoping you'd take a look at the most overlooked venomous creatures in the world... caterpillars. Jack always prefaces with "don't try this at home". If you live in Central or South America definitely take this warning seriously, as caterpillars in the Lonomia genus can kill you.

Gator Chris found one of these around the last hurricane and said that they're bad enough they put a former coworker in the hospital. Are some people allergic to their venom and get worse effects? Only caterpillars I've been stung by are tussock moths, and those are so annoying. Feels like fibreglass under the skin until it decides to fade. I still put them back on trees if I find them wandering where they shouldn't be, though.
@libertarianman69Ай бұрын
Well I was cleaning gutters out on a house I'm working on and I got stung right at the top of my butt crack as I was bent over. It actually didn't hurt real bad at first so I thought it was a stick that fell out of the tree down into my pants so I turned around with my hand to get it out and I made it sting me two more times but I accidentally made it go further down my crack. I've never had a yellow jacket sting hurt so bad in my life. It actually hurt for 3 days and it has still been itching for a week. The one at the end of my tailbone for my upper crack is the one that really got me.

You can see the "Wow!" on Jack's face initially, to the real uncomfortable sensations coming out after the venom seeps into his system within just a 5 minute span. Hope you were able to shrug it off with some pain relief and aspirins.
