I just had my first ever runner's high today. I was nearing the end of my 15 minute run and was at 5.0 when I realized I was feeling good and turned it up to 5.5. Suddenly I realized I wanted more, I felt so good, and I turned it up to 6.0, faster than I had ever run on a treadmill before. I actually felt my body scream "KEEP GOING!" when it hit 15 minutes, so I ran for a minute more, and I felt it wear off 45 seconds after. One of the best feelings I've ever had, I want more.

Just felt my first one today, so I can tell you how it felt (though I assume it's different for different people). You just feel this pleasurable sensation throughout your entire body, like you're sort of floating on air and you feel powerful, you can basically feel your body screaming for you to push your limits and go faster because you know it will only make you feel better, and you just never want to stop until the sensation fades.

Trust me, building up to runner's high can be a real pain in the butt, but when the sensation hits you actually want to run faster and to never stop. It's completely worth hitting the high.

Bruh, I run for an hour, sit down for five minutes and I feel like I'm gonna pass out. I'm not fat, I'm not lazy, I eat health, but I go completely light headed with minimal running and then my vision is completely fucked. I can do any other exercise for hours longer and I'm fine.

This video is misinformation. Endorphins are unable to pass through the blood brain barrier that would elicit these effects. Endocannabinoids on the other hand do pass the blood brain barrier as they are lipids. They are also released in great number into the bloodstream with right kind of running. This is much more likely to be the cause of the "runners high" and not endorphins as stated in the video. The more you know!

@@mungusbephilery2115 Its believed that an endocannabinoid called "anandamide" and not endorphins are the cause of the runner's high. Anandamide is an endocannabinoid that acts on the brain similar to cannabis/marijuana. No wonder why runners enjoy running so much. For them, it's their happy hour or party!

I used to be shitty at running but over time you get used to running longer distances. Once you can run at least for 30 min at a consistent pace, you will have a higher chance of getting a runner's high.

I start to feel it around 30 min and it gets stronger over time and I suddenly feel a burst of energy. I literally sprinted and within a few seconds I felt it. It felt like a wave of ecstacy rushed through my brain as if it were orgasmic. Running at a consistent pace is key to reaching the runner's high.

If you want to know, my pace on a treadmill is 4.5 running, 3.5 walking alternating every 3 minutes, until the last 3 minutes I run, where I turn it up to 5.0 so I hit the mile mark. I ended up turning it higher today (up to 6.0) when I hit my runner's high because my body demanded it. Just remember everybody's different with their highs.

Its like winning a lottery, even professional marathon runners have experienced less than 4 to 5 times on an average in total lifetime, their is no exact method to achieve it and it only happens when your respiratory system is able to supply exact amount of oxygen needed for body to run, however it never happens as you will always be breathing heavy to get more oxygen as normal breathing doesn't provide enough oxygen for heavy task of running. However luckily when you are able to breathe more oxygen than you need you get 'runners high'

this is how i get is, by playing football (soccer) sometimes you got to use your top speed sprint when you see the ball is played your way, you dont know that you gotta go to max sprint and thats why its shocks your mind, to have to use top speed sprint unprepared. your head gets real light and you have to cool down for 1 or 2 seconds. Im kinda a fast guy, dont know if any of you can relate to this?
