Nice video! An unattainable goal I have is to hike every trail in the Uintas. And then explore off trail. But....I've got a LOOOONG way to go because I also want to do that for the Winds....and the Sawtooths....and the Sierra...lol I dont know how to prioritize. I just want to do it all.

Amy Routt Pick what you think would be your top 3 of each area (Uintas, Winds, Sawtooths) and just do them and to start!

I really enjoyed the filling and photography, the good humour and the undeniable beauty of the landscape. Such gorgeous high meadows. (In part it reminded me of Scotland and Cairngorm but I would say that!) If I may say, one if your best films to date.

Hey Neemor. Great video as always. Just curious, Do you use tent footprints? I noticed your buddy has the one and was wondering if a tent with such a thin bathtub would still need Tyvek or whatever. Thanks, man.
@NeemorsWorld5 жыл бұрын
itdidnotworkmichael hey! Nope, I don’t think either of us had one. My friend used the gossamer gear single person shelter and I used my zpacks plexamid. I found that they aren’t really necessary if you clear out the spot for your tent before pitching.

So awesome thanks for sharing this! I'll be heading out for this trip next year! Did you use a mic still or is this audio straight from the Sony RX100?
@NeemorsWorld5 жыл бұрын
All the audio is straight from the rx100. I’ve got little stick on wind muffs for it though to cut some of the wind noise out.
@tombojustdoes6165 жыл бұрын
@@NeemorsWorld Great thanks for the information. The audio sounds really good to me. Trying to decide on a new camera and want to keep it as simple, lightweight, and compact as possible.
@NeemorsWorld5 жыл бұрын
Primitive Magnolia I do enjoy the simplicity of the rx100. It has its downsides like image quality and focus is slow but comparing it to my gh5 its a much easier trail camera. I’ve heard the Canon g7x is great as well.
@tombojustdoes6165 жыл бұрын
@@NeemorsWorld I'm guessing it's still a solid upgrade from a gropro. I'm definitely looking to document my little trips with a bit more quality all around but still keep it as minimal as possible. The audio quality is encouraging and to a novice eye like mine the image quality is more than satisfying. I'll have to look into the Canon as well. Thanks again for the information.
@NeemorsWorld5 жыл бұрын
Yes! A big upgrade from the gopro. just having the ability to zoom is probably worth the switch.

Did you get the van fixed?
@NeemorsWorld5 жыл бұрын
I did! A new battery and transmission speed sensor fixed the problem! I found a transmission shop in Arizona that was much more helpful and did an inspection without trying to sell me a new transmission.

Neemor, is the RX100IV your new go-to camera for long hikes? I've been shooting with the RX100V the last 2 years and overall pretty happy for the results given its compact size/weight. I'm curious, though: What picture profile are you shooting with, and how are you color grading?
@NeemorsWorld5 жыл бұрын
It's a pretty great camera. I do like the look of my GH5 better, but i feel that with the smaller/more accessible rx100 i get more interesting footage on trail. I just use the standard picture profile and shoot in 60fps. for grading: I use either premiere or davinchi and my Moab LUT. Then I'll desaturate the reds and oranges to 80%, then usually add more contrast and a little saturation.
