If women's optimal preferred height is 9" taller than themselves wouldn't that make the optimal height 6'1" since the average woman is 5'4"? I also think there's a couple advantages to being tall that aren't shown in these studies... 1. You literally stand out more. At a crowded concert, bar, or club, you're more noticeable and will garner more attention from women due to being seen more. 2. The women who like tall men(usually tall women) really like tall men since there are so few tall men. This gives you a disproportionately good shot with those women which a 5'11" man wouldn't get. Even if there are more women who find 5'11" an acceptable height than 6'6", the women who do want a 6'6" man will overlook any other flaws you may have if you're 6'6" since theirs so few other options at your height. Just some stuff that I think become pretty apparent when you're out trying to date in the real world. Interesting video though.

Hey man, appreciate the comment! The reserach doesnt seem to be consistent on this. while some studies seem to say 20-21 cm / 8 inches taller is best, the speed dating study says 25 (10 inches) so I assumed it inbetween. that said, the speed dating study is from the u.s. where height is notoriously overvalued, socio-culturally speaking. and the speed dating setting forces people to choose mainly based on first impression /physical characteristics. your question depends on the country, average height and so on. but its "only" a womans perspective. thats not necessarily what counts, looking at what men want, 7-8 cm smaller or about 3 inches. 1. I agree thats an initial advantage. since women rarely approach, this is probably not a big advantage. however that guy would be able to spot women easier ;) ;) 2. I think those that really place A LOT of importance on height are those that are either a) very tall, so they dont necessarily want someone whos much taller, but are probably grateful to just find anyone taller than them :D b) very short so they likely got issues and therefore look for their deficit in someone else. it might also be due to offspring (my speculation now) averaging out so shorter women might want to select taller men. but I think its more related to a psychological factor. if a person is fine with their height it shouldnt be that much of an issues. otherwise agree for the rare case that the woman is extremely tall (over 5 11 or 180 cm). I was obviously being sarcastic! Women may have a preference for the taller man, but they can't all marry him! Most women want to marry, and if all the tall men are taken (or won't commit) she will have to settle for the shorter guy (or not get married). In the end, e everyone has to settle for what they can get, or miss out. Currently, there is an epidemic of women missing out - only the ones with reasonable expectations are actually finding husbands. The sexual market place is different, but I think it is no coincidence that the heights of married men and women closely match the heights for men and women overall.

On a lot of sources, it says that the most attractive height difference for women is 8 inches. The average human head from the top of the head to the chin is around 8 inches long(its a very rough estimate). That basically means that the top of the woman’s head would ideally align with the man’s chin. I mean wouldn’t it be more comfortable if the height difference was smaller? That way it’s easier for their faces to meet and so the man doesn’t have to hunch over or the women doesn’t have to get on her tippy toes for them to kiss? Maybe I’m over thinking it 🤣

I've never been to Norway (unfortunately) but I was surprised when I visited Serbia to find I felt short. While I'm not too tall at 5'11, I feel a normal height in my country. I'd guess the Serbs are 6'1 on average, and it makes a noticeable difference.

The ideal is relative to the height of the female. Rule of thumb is the ideal height difference is 4''. If the woman is 5' 4'' her ideal match is 5' 8''. (this is in theory as I've been with women taller than me. perhaps not ideal but just saying, don't limit yourself!)

I think 10 cm / 4" is a nice height difference and I would agree that you should not limit yourself to focus too much on height. while women think height plays a role, I do think when other factors come into play that overweigh, they start caring way less too.

One of the few things I enjoy about being short, as in 5/7, is that the women who accept me as I am, are the ones worth having. Women who want only tall men, will never find love, and too bad for them. Love is when you accept another person in every way, just as they are. its basically the same in most parts of the world even in countries where men are short compared to the world average women prefer a "tall" foreigner or someone much taller than the average there the ideal is 1.80m (5'11) for metric system users cus its a round number and 6 feet for imperial system users (which is 1.83m) cus its a round number. Its in countries that the average height is around that that the ideal varies some women would say average is fine and some will prefer a man 6'3+

20% of Dutch men are or taller then 190 cm while only 12% of men are or shorter then 175 cm. So yes 184 cm is the average in the netherlands for Dutch men. Im 6 cm taller then average but since taller people tend to life more in the nothern provinces like me you can say that 190 cm is pretty normal
