Immune to pettiness, aware of mortality, accepting of situation, & focused on stability. Damn, you are one wise human. Bipolar 1 similarly shaped my worldview. Only I needed 20 additional years to arrive at conclusions you did.

Hey i have been dealing with my schizophrenia now for 11 years iam 32 now and it all started when i was 21, i have also been hospitalized 3 times and have had many medication changes over the years, now iam on olanzapine and its been working for the last 7 years but iam married and have an amazingly supportive family my wife and i have a photography business and it allows me to get out in nature and pursue what iam passionate about like nature and insect life.. So there's a lot to be hopeful for i know there are somedays when iam just having a bad day but there's always the promise of tomorrow and a new beginning with every new day.. My faith has gotten me through a lot of these battles too, just knowing the love of Jesus and trying my best to live for him makes a big difference, he loves us all whether we acknowledge him or not and he's just waiting at the door for us to let him in.. Jesus loves you man and so do I.. :) God bless you and keep you my friend and things will get better :) Have a great day..

What a testimony my brother. I too ended up getting schizophrenia when I was 21 due to drugs. I'm going to turn 29 this year. It was really hard the first years for me but thank God that he kept me safe from myself and the Devil's schemes. I ended up getting sick again the December of 2016 because I stopped taking my meds. I'm trying to get back to living the life that God wants for me. They say this disease cannot be healed, but the bible says different. Isaiha 53:5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be Healed

man, existentialism is such a cathartic thing. to know that we are so ridiculously insignificant in the grand scheme of things can mean looking at our lives, accepting that no one cares and either running with it or digging a deep, dark hole. with that considered, i hope you're well!

Hi Jacob. I was just diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder - Depressive Type after many years of misdiagnoses and wrong medications (such as stimulant meds like Adderall and Vyvanse). It's awesome you are doing these vids. I'm at the starting line of learning about this. I don't know what to do.

Hey, I have had manic type schizoaffective disorder for 26 years now since I was aged 17. I find that as long as I take my meds, get plenty of sleep and do not have too much stress in my life I can live well. I have been able to go to university and obtain a degree, am married and have always had a job. I guess you have to find what works for you but nowadays mental health treatments are so much better than they used to be. I wish you all the best Jeremy and things will be ok.

I agree with your perspective on life. I was just thinking the other day that I'm so glad that with getting older comes more knowledge that helps to keep my ego in check. I used to be so worried that my life wasn't like this person's, or that my path is different... but in the end, all you have is what you made for yourself out of whatever situation you were placed in.

You look so handsome ;) I got the diagnose but now i’m off medication. I only take strattera and voxra och occationaly nitrazepam to get a good nights sleep. And when i sleep the voices quite..... Actually now i feel very good, much better then most of my teenage years and some of the childhood. My problems started when i was at my lowest, no job, no friends calling or keeping in touch, i was almost allways alone and i tried some drugs that triggered the symptoms. But now good nutrition, earning money, being with friends, dateing and getting help from the pschyward has helped me function pretty well actually.... I’m Also pessimistisk about human kind some times but it is also magic and what you make of it. I want you to know there are other ”doors” to new realities in consiouness... Believe me...... You seem like a cool and nice guy. Decent Kind regards from Sweden :) Peace :P

Yeah he's a cutie pie, pretty normal compared to my roommate, he wall surfs all day long lol.. but as long as he's not out wandering, around he does okay hiding in his house too. My shrink actually decided that the doctor that diagnosed me was full of it as far as hearing voices go, I don't hear very many voices unless I'm wasted or something, and she was not giving me lithium, she thought that was insane, somebody mis-diagnosed me and said I was skitzo-effective, I just ramble to myself and relive things, which is PTSD, she was actually right on this part because a judge also diagnosed me with it. This is why I went and got a second opinion, some doctors mis-read people and mis-diagnose people, what I have is actually pretty normal, as long as people don't press my buttons, and i'm sleeping, my doctor doesn't want me on medications because I have allergies to them, when she took me off them I actually got a lot better, started taking vitamins, sometimes I will smoke a joint, have a beer or something good to eat, and I sleep like a baby this way. As odd as it sounds I'm glad I moved to Colorado, because I don't have to wait around for a drug dealer to show up and lace it with something, anymore, which is an added benefit to attending college in Colorado. It almost made me feel relieved though to know I wasn't disabled, because I'd imagine it would be a pretty difficult life to live.

Hey :) I wanted to ask you a little bit about your relationship.. I really want love in my life but I can't handle being with another person .. I can for a while but sooner or later I'll become paranoid , thinking that person want to kill me or just isn't good to me :( Also it's so damn hard to trust anyone if you don't even trust yourself .. So how did you get to know her ? How did you handle being alone with her the first time ? How do you handle a relationship with another person ? Do you have the same problem like I do ? If yes, how do you handle those trust issues in your relationship ? Sorry if this is too personal ;( I just want a relationship anytime Keep it up, Juliah

MrsJuliahCorah he and his girlfriend broke up if I remember right... In my experience though, meds can be a help. And when I am not too sick and can determine what is real and what is not, it is easier to think it through and realize my paranoia is unwarranted. Even reminding yourself every morning that the delusions are not real can help. It is much like living a dream, I think. But once you realize it is a "dream" you can kind of start to wake up from it... The delusions may not completely leave but you can begin to differentiate reality from fantasy. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've got a question for any skitzofrenix out there that I hallucinate!!? Do any of the hallucinations actually cause physical conditions? And I really don't mean to be triggering on this! I think that's part of why I'm not seeing so much. I've got a vague memory when I figured out that they actually couldn't hurt me!! And now I just live with the intrusive thoughts, but they're fairly easy to communicate and rationalize with.

Medicine keeps me be calmer, mostly physically. I will do nothing but walk and talk to things, otherwise. I'll become agitated and break things. I don't always like what I'm on, and my doctor doesn't question it much when I want to change meds. Do yours eventually fail or cause issues? Then we have my head injury that everyone ignored. That messes with me pretty badly, too. The CIA enjoys my emails, I'm sure. I lose insight at times. It's fun to watch or read later. Do you? Lately, it's been my fault because I'm not making myself focus.

Hey Jacob. Please try the ketogenic diet. Some schizophrenics has it helped dramatically. Its because on a ketogenic diet your body runs on a different fuel. Ketones instead of glucose. Studies have shown that ketones have neuroprotective neurosignal inhibiting properties. This is why many people with mental illnesses have felt much much better on it, including me. I really recommend you trying it. It is worth a try. (Sorry english is not my native language)

I've also got to stop, and I experimented today by drinking more buby, drinking anything but coffee, tea, and water. There's something, perhaps too much fluid, that is causing me to have issues. We schizophrenics tend to drink a lot of water and smoke. I don't smoke, but I'm always drinking something. Diet Coke is toxic. Buby appears to be, too. I couldn't quit diet coke cold turkey because that bothered me, but I will ease off of it. Putin said so. He's been harassing me about it for a while. I have insight now, don't worry.

Hi ive been fan of yours for a while. Ive been diagnosed with schizophrenia i think i may have been misdiagnosed. I dont see or hear things but i have delusions that everyone in my sight might be mean to me for being stupid and ugly. I'm afraid of them saying mean things laughing at me. I'm afraid of people being hateful to me because i'm stupid and ugly. What do you think caused your illness? I think what caused mine is isolation and alot of people including loved ones being cruel to me rejecting me betraying me. I wonder if trauma causes it or do people get mental illness for no reason. I think emotional abuse causes brain injury. Part of the brain shrinks. Google it.
