LONGGANISA!!! YAAAAASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! I'm filipino-american and never learned to cook any filipino dishes because I never had to (filipino food was always just miraculously ready for me when I got home--thanks lola). Now that I'm vegan I've been hoping one of the channels I subscribe to would create or replicate filipino dishes. THANK YOU SARAH!!! And I just got back from the PI with coconut vinegar yay!

Of all of the vegan channels I follow, yours has some of the most unique recipes! You always give me ideas on new things to try. That tofu dish looked absolutely scrumptious. And hey, random stranger on the internet browsing through the comments! I also make vegan recipe videos, and I'm super new to youtube, I would love your support as I grow my channel! :)

I don't know if you'll read this but you have by far one of my favorite vegan channels! I'm a vegetarian myself, and I often question myself if I ever should go vegan. I love how down to earth you present yourself, and although veganism is an important topic you don't "preach" it in a way that could be off-putting. As someone with social anxiety as well, your video on the topic was very moving. I could relate to a lot of what you said. Luckily I've been in therapy for ~4 years now so I've been able to get a lot of help. I would say social anxiety is still a struggle for me, but I've learned to manage it and live with it. It's always good to know I'm not alone. Thanks for producing such quality content! I'm so glad I found your channel (:
@SarahsVeganKitchen7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the kindness. :) I definitely prefer to focus on positivity to spread the vegan message and I'm glad you like that approach! And I am so so glad the social anxiety video resonated with you. I feel the same -- it's still a part of my life, but completely manageable and it gets a little better as time goes on.

'Vegan longganisa' reminds me of a viral photo that says "Longganisa Vigan", a vegan bought it and later found out that it was made out of pork. The product came from VIGAN CITY, Philippines ...hence labeled as Longganisa Vigan. Heheh. Just wanna share the story,pls feature more pinoy favorites like kare-kare, lumpia and vegan sisig.

Really great inspiration for recipes. I've been wanting to make pot stickers and I don't use mushrooms often but I like them or tofu as part of the filling. The dried mushrooms you rehydrated made me think to use those instead of fresh so I don't waste?
@SarahsVeganKitchen7 жыл бұрын
Dried mushrooms are great to have on hand! They're cheaper and store for a long time. And I think the texture/flavor is just as good as fresh when chopped up and used in a stuffing or mixture like this.

I got a question what do you eat in a family filipino party's if your family is not vegan because every time I go my Filipino parties I cannot eat anything there cuz I'm the only vegan in my family is it too embarrassing to bring your own food I mean I want to be at that party just to spend time with my family cause those are the only times that I get to see my dad too.. but most of out party's are in a buffet what would you suggest that I could eat in a Chinese Buffet???
@SarahsVeganKitchen7 жыл бұрын
Haha I know what you mean. Usually I'll just rice and steamed veggies, or if there is a tofu dish I'll do that. Buffets sometimes have a great fruit selection too. (I know, it's a little boring.) Sometimes I'll just eat a little at the party to be social, and then have my own dinner when I get home. At family BBQs, usually there's a good variety of corn, baked potatoes and veggie skewers and rice. :)

It's kind of expensive here too (in my opinion); I only buy it on sale. But you can sub in another type of grain, or some couscous.
