I really enjoy your videos and content. It was surprising to see with the AIS install on that outrage, that there was no main feed to that upper electronics box. I also like that power feed for the hydraulic helm. I've done that work manually and it's super time consuming and messy, even with a good plan.

Hydraulic steering always makes a mess when you fix it and thank you. 😊

Great video as always. Some of the stuff on the first Sea Ray that hit the bridge is common on 320s that did not hit a bridge. I have a 2022 and my silver posts and screws holding the top have both come loose from normal running. Those posts are a PIA to tighten because you need to remove all the trim pieces.

I agree with them loosening by themselves. The only thing that made it seem different is the cracking around the fiberglass. It's hard to see in the video because the marina is so dark. Most things vibrate loose after so long in a boat. 😋

That v8 sensor goes out kinda often

My hydraulic steering is leaking a small amount of fluid, so about every 3 trips, I’ll top it off and get the air out. I’ve never replaced the seals before, but need a video for that , I guess

What a pleasure to see your video's. Did i understand you right, that you can empty the steering system with the seastar pumpunit? We heve the same one in our shop, but never used that function, because i didn't know that.

Yes. You can bleed most of it out if you open the helm bleed cap to vent and just hook up the ram on both sides. You can push the motor side to side by hand also to help evacuate the fluid.

I’ve been a diesel mechanic for 25+ years, specializing in electrical systems but have very limited experience in the marine industry. I’m in the process of buying my first boat and want to spend more time on / near the water with my family. It would be a lot easier if I had a steady source of income near where the boat is now. Any recommendations on making that transition?

Good question. The best thing I could think of is finding a bigger dealership that is willing to train you. Sounds like you already have knowledge but you just need to direct into a different career. Most dealerships want people that already have knowledge about things but can train them accordingly. Hope that helps.
