Keep these coming . . . It’s such a great relief to hear a bit of practically applicable science, sans the hype. Thank you, subscribing. (I also greatly appreciate the more female oriented approach to reading the science, and noticing what is actually not studied well, in females, as of yet.)

I agree, the artificial light in gyms robs people of major benefits, I think they do this knowingly too.

Yes it’s a shame - I think it’s ignorance more so as I’m my gym the guys are lovely but have idea about light - luckily we can open the door and windows

Shouldn't we help mitochondria fail during a hormesis centered activity and help them do better during rest and recovery?
@Thebusysuperhuman11 ай бұрын
No not when it comes to light as they depend on it
@Ardentic-mm11 ай бұрын
@Thebusysuperhuman depend? I'm not sure what you mean. I've heard people claim exercise being an excellent senolytic. So, if I support these cells, I might be protecting cells from apoptosis. Then again, I'm completely at loss at understanding if light contributes significantly or just marginally here...

If near IR is helpful, shouldn't IR and simply warming your body up in the simplest ways be helpful to mitochondria?
@Thebusysuperhuman11 ай бұрын
That’s internal IR and IR is not heat External penetrates 8-10cm

If blue light messes with melatonin shouldn't even higher energy uv impact you worse?
@Thebusysuperhuman11 ай бұрын
No as UVA is for making serotonin, dopamine and other hormones - it doesn’t break down melatonin - the blue does
