Thanks to guys like you, Jon Venus, Vegan Physique and Vegan Hustle TV I've been 95% vegan for the last 4 months. It's also helped me lose my attachment to vanity and be more aligned with individual health and societal health. I feel like at first I maybe lost a little size, but I'm noticing now that I'm just hungrier and can get away with eating more calories on a whole foods plant based diet. Keep crankin' these out. It's important work.

Awesome David, thanks so much for the kind words. Glad I can inspire!
@tranquil877 жыл бұрын
Great work. Just a technicality though: there is no such thing as 95% vegan. The words you are looking for are 95% plant-based. The word vegan refers to a person who avoids animal products as best as they can 100% of the time. Meaning that, their intention is to completely avoid animal products. (Accidentally consuming them doesn't make a vegan "less vegan").
@IllegalPanda7 жыл бұрын
I am totally in the same boat as you! I am two months completely plant based and I was so worried about losing my gains, but I'm leaning out nicely and maintaining muscle mass. It feels fantastic

the problem of brian turner, jon venus it that they give very poor nutritional advices ... a lot of cereals, bread, beans... that are very hard on the body and a lot of cooked food .. this is absolutely not healthy at all. Better sit on fresh fruit and vegetables, that's all

@HAL-dm1eh7 жыл бұрын
Give your body a couple months to adapt. Mine only adapted so much so I took a really good probiotic and that helped with the carbs and fiber so now going to try alpha-galactosidase for beans since I only adapted so much to that as well.
@Simnettnutrition7 жыл бұрын
Hey Linds. That is good advice from David. Thank you. He is right, it takes some time. It is a combination of finding what works for your, allowing your body and gut micro biome to adapt, learning how to properly prepare the grains, legumes, beans, etc. He is right about a probiotic possibly helping too. Find one that has a good blend of strains but make sure it has a lot of the Lactobacillus Acidophilus strain. Also increasing your stomach acid before meals by having some digestive bitters, chewing on some bitter greens or having a small glass of lemon and water prior to meals. I think I should do a video on this. :D

Thanks for the tip about rinsing quinoa. I've been vegan for just over a year and I don't recall hearing about the anti-nutrients on quinoa. It explains why my body has this negative reaction that I couldn't explain despite everyone saying it is so good. I'll have to try this and see if my body is happier with it. Being vegan has transformed my life and my body. I'm dropping weight now and I don't feel deprived at all. My body weight is at an all time low that I have never been able to achieve as an adult. It's crazy great!!!! I'll never go back to eating animal products. Plant Power all the way! Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together with all this great information. How do you stay so lean while gaining muscle without tracking your calories? Has it been a learning process along the way (like reducing the amount of food you eat if you think you're gaining too much fat), or has simply listening to your body been the reason for your leaness? I also had another question: I currently do a high volume bodybuilding program (with a few 5x5 strength exercises like deadlifts, squat, and bench press)). I want to incorporate more calisthenics (more than push ups and pull ups) with the intention of learning new moves, like handstand, planche, front lever, etc. Should I reduce the amount of high volume, heavy lifting in order to make room for becoming better at calisthenics? For me, it just seems like if I were to try incorporating more calisthenics on top of my current routine, I would suffer from central nervous system fatigue... I dunno. What's your opinion on this?

Great video again! Do you think you could make a video about this yoga stomach vacuum technique you're showing? I'm sure a lot of people would be really interested
