Great that you're implementing a more plant-based diet! You don't need as many supplements as marketeers would let you believe. If you're plant-based and do it right (with a lot of raw fruits, veggies and dark leavy greens), you'll only need B12 and if you live in northern climates maybe vitamin D :-*

@johnny bhai It's not a stupid thing. Eating plant-based helps the planet in so many ways (methane, CO2, water pollution, antibiotics, waste of energy and proteins) and also helps to reduce climate change. So many acres of land are used to grow food for animals that humans eat. This land can not be used to grow food for hungry people. For example, you need 16 calories of plants for only ONE calorie of beef. It's a complex matter and you should look into it. Going plant-based is not the solution for everything but it's one positive piece to a possible solution. It's true what you say about the wealth of rich people and poverty. But you can serve the poor AND eat healthy AND be kind. I hope you lead by example by serving the poor. You should also consider being less aggressive in your comments. If you cannot succeed, you should consider selling your laptop and give the money to the poor.

I didn't count her calories, and I couldn't event if I wanted to due to not knowing brands and exact amounts, but as someone who eats in a similar way to her, I know that it's definitely a healthy amount of food. Actually, if I eat that amount when I'm going through a not working out phase I gain weight. There are a lot of high fat foods there which add up quickly. Not saying you're doing this, but we have moved away from fat shaming and into subtely shaming thin or healthy women which can be just as hurtful, but almost worse because no one's trying to make to movement against it yet. Doutzen has always had a healthy weight, and if this is what she eats to maintain it, then clearly it isn't bad for her body.

Nutritionists say these days that we consume enough vitamins and minerals with good healthy diet. Food supplements, on the other hand, are loosely regulated, not necessary in most cases, and might even be bad for you.
@bobfryfish4 жыл бұрын
Nutritionists advice isn't set in stone. Before, peanut butter was bad because it was too fatty. Now, they distinguish btw good and bad fats. Before eggs were bad but now it's considered a great source of protein. People should do their own research and have agency in their choice. What works for you might not for the next person, vice versa...and that's OK!
@bianka948254 жыл бұрын
I agree. If you consume a plant based, wholesome, nutritious diet, your body shouldnt need any extra supplements (unless you are an athlete or someone with a medical condition).
@sarahjuma75634 жыл бұрын
bobfryfish hey I’m nutrition this is an ongoing topic but truly what we all have seen that tbh supplements if not necessarily prescribed is a waste of money because your body naturally gets rid of what it doesn’t need through urinating it’s not a debate at all it’s just facts about your body if you eat everything in a healthy amount you shouldn’t need to waste your money
@gxflores67314 жыл бұрын
The thing is most people are not being consistent with a good healthy diet. Supplements are a good way to atleast try ensure that you are receiving what you may be lacking in your daily diet. For example many people may become anemic when they do not consume enough iron, and supplements are a way you can have iron when it is not on your plate every single day. There are not enough studies that show they are bad for you. There are so many more things in what most people are consuming today, these vitamins are the least of your worries.
