There is many things I agree and are true. There is many thing we do very different, but I just think it is an individual preference. I am a man, which probably changes a lot of things as well. I have to eat more (over 3000kcal a day) and that means, that I eat much more carbs (I am trying to eat carbs such as potatoes, rice, pasta, bread etc... - I call these "pomalé cukry" nebo "komplexní cukry", but sometimes I just need my "fast sugar" - "rychlé cukry" hah). Amazing video for people, who just got the bad message or who just dont know anything about it! Keep up, you make great content :-) PS: I would love to see the difference between czech and american health care system with diabetes (for what we pay etc...), that would be very interesting I think. If you wanted any info about the system here, just PM me :-).

Thank you! It definitely is different for men and women, and also if you are more active you would need more carbs and calories. And that’s a great idea!

Ahoj Jani, ja som ti dal "thumbs down" ale len preto, že ten účes na začiatku videa nie je tak dobrý a myslím, že ti najviac padnú rozpustené vlasy ako máš väčšinou na videách :). A super prezentácie, by the way :) Nemám cukrovku, ale to jedlo by som si dal!

Ahoj Jana ... I have diabetes type II, and I Am using insulin pump .. medtronic 640g , . what do you use ..or are you just on medication? Super video 👍👍
@JanaKotysan4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I use the OmniPod insulin pump, and the Dexcom blood glucose reader. I like them because they work through Bluetooth 😊
@9vmarcus4 жыл бұрын
@@JanaKotysan yes I understand .., the omnipod is great, but in our country it is not possible to have this pump .. of course the medtronic also works via bluetooth .. I use the Enlite sensor ™
@JanaKotysan4 жыл бұрын
@@9vmarcus Oh that's interesting! I don't know a lot about Medtronic, but many of my Type 1 friends have it too. It must be good!

Hey, Jana! Nice and useful video for anyone who has a similar health problem as you, so I give like (that hairstyle is also nice, but you look better when your hair is loose) 😉👍 I'm not a doctor either, but... Wouldn't a pancreatic transplant help in your case? This procedure is said to be quite common... Were you trying to get any information about this procedure...? You stated in the video that you are doing an online course to improve your skills - what exactly is this online course about? Learning the Czech language? Can you make the next video about it? 🤔🙏🏻😉 Be careful and say hello to Yuki! 🍀😉🐈
@JanaKotysan4 жыл бұрын
A transplant could work, but the risk is that the organ may get rejected, so I don’t find it worth the money. That would also cause many problems, but a different kind. Scientists have developed a new tool called the “artificial pancreas” that I think would work better. (Too much to type here, but it’s worth googling!) And yes! I am in Czech classes again, but the class I discussed in this video is a design class. I will talk about it more in future videos 😊
@Last_Starfighter4 жыл бұрын
@@JanaKotysan Yes, there is always a risk of rejection of a new organ in transplants, but doctors can usually suppress autoimmune reactions.... You'd get your life back without health problems... In the Czech Republic, these transplants are performed by IKEM (Institut Klinické a Experimentální Medicíny/ Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine). Artificial pancreas? I haven't heard of that yet! 😲🥺 As soon as I have more free time, I'll try to find it - I'm very interested!!! 👌 I'm looking forward to more videos! I am most looking forward to your knowledge of the Czech language! 😉😄😃😛👌👍

Test his blood sugar ASAP! You can buy a kit at any pharmacy, it’s easy. If he does it’s important to catch it early!

@JanaKotysan3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I don't eat for 3 hours (at least) before bed. My basal rate is accurate, so by the time I sleep my levels are stable. I'd ask your doctor for the medical opinion on that, though

I'm surprised at how well you get by with caffeine. It may decrease insulin effectiveness, but you seem to be an exception. Does your temperature affect your blood sugar level at all? It gives me false signs of a high blood sugar level.
@JanaKotysan4 жыл бұрын
That's interesting, does caffeine decrease your insulin's effectiveness? I have not noticed any difference in insulin effectiveness based on caffeine intake. And yes, temperature definitely affects my blood sugars. My insulin's effectiveness is increased with heat (so higher temperatures mean I need less insulin, versus cold temperatures cause me to need more). I've heard other Type 1's share the temperature issues, but curious about caffeine.
