I add cinnamon to oatmeal as well. I also lightly sweeten with a spoon of coconut sugar because it is low glycemic & has minerals in it--plus it tastes a lot like brown sugar. Sometimes I will add a T. of raisins or slice half a banana in the cooked oats if I don't have berries--which are my favorite!

Another great snack is a frozen banana with peanut butter. I slice a banana in half, spread peanut butter in the middle, put the banana back together, cut it in half and pop in the freezer. A half banana with peanut butter is a great frozen snack in summer in particular.

@BethDjalali3 жыл бұрын
yes, it does. but i've found and research supports that wine or a cocktail on the weekends is perfectly fine. many of us love a spartan, nutritional lifestyle. i err on the side of a balanced life as dining with friends and family is thoroughly enjoyable with a cocktail. it's recommended to abstain from alcohol for three days then splurge.

@BethDjalali3 жыл бұрын
Great suggestion! and i can add on a video. but i work 9 to 5 (probably more than that) too and it's definitely doable to incorporate both when working. in your case you will need to fit in a workout before or after work. fasting doesn't depend on a work schedule so easily implemented into your lifestyle.

intermittent fasting changed quite a few nutrition rules that insisted we start our day with breakfast then adhered to six mini-meals throughout the day. IF is becoming more and more mainstream as we learn more and more about our blood sugar levels and how that translates to disease and holding on to stubborn fat.

Do you not use frozen veggies at all? I have lost over a 100 pounds since April 2019, I was just tired of being overcweight & wanted off some meds. So with the help of my family doctor, I did it. I still have a few pounds I want to loose for my own self-satisfaction. I will be trying the intermittent fasting, since the weight loss has slowed down some. Hopefully, it will rev up again. I have also increased my walking. Thank you for your idea of the intermittent fasting, I would not have thought about it.

Beth, are you eating this way for a health reason or primarily to lose weight? You're the second person I've heard today saying to reduce or eliminate sugar and now I'm seriously thinking about that. We already don't eat processed food and eat as much organic food as possible (my store has a limited variety). Also, you mentioned that you limit your fruit intake because of sugar...that would be hard for me. Is there a reason for cutting out so much fruit? Thank you :)
@BethDjalali3 жыл бұрын
health reasons. sugar is a big problem and increases your risk for many diseases. i eat more veggies than fruit to keep my macros balanced - proteins, carbs, and fats. i do eat fruit every day i just eat it sparingly and choose wisely. a banana is high in sugar and low in fiber whereas raspberries are high in fiber and low in sugar. it's a balancing act.
