How generous of you to share such personal information about yourself and your life. I appreciate it. During this pandemic I've been battling depression. I'm single & 55 and I am just having a terrible time with getting dressed. That's how I found your channel. My son said "Mom, you have to put on clothes. You can't live in pajama pants anymore." So, I turned on KZbin & prayed I'd find inspiration. Boom! There you are! So fun and informative. I'm not better, but I now wear jeans or joggers every day versus pajamas or leggings. I now own 4 pairs of those lose Eileen Fisher athle/leisure wide leg pants that look good with sweaters & tops. And 4 prs of jeans that look cute with tunics & blouses. Your jeans episode & your white denim episode was so helpful to me. Staying home & being alone with the dogs really isn't a good reason to not care about my appearance. Thanks to several of your tips I'm putting on clothes after my morning shower instead of clean pajamas. Go me! And I'm back to putting on foundation and mascara instead of just my sunscreen. I know the kids are happier and the FedEx man is less scared of me. Thanks again for sharing and all the best to you.

I recently found a woman on KZbin who brightened my day. Her name is Lana Vawser and she addresses some issues that are going on in the world. She gave me hope when I was feeling down about it. The one on The Hunted Shall Become the Hunter is especially good! :) She has a series on Coffee with Jesus, that I'm checking out. Thank you Beth for sharing! Hugs .. Annette and Beth!

Annette - You are not alone - We are all battling this isolation and I have developed an intimate relationship with sweatpants. LOL - I think Beth is a great resource and I love her videos because she helps us became involved in dressing well which is a positive influence at this somewhat depressing time - She gives us something else to think about so hang in there because this too will end.

Hi Beth, I have been subscribed and watching your channel for a couple of months now. After watching this one today I was in the kitchen and after this video ended another one came on where you shared the loss of your husband. It brought me to tears because I just lost my husband of 57 years in August, 2020; and I know what you have gone through and are still going through. I started watching you because I knew that I was "letting myself go"...I was so depressed and in such grief that I just didn't care. I also knew that my actions were not healthy for me and were not honoring to my husbands memory. He would not want me to "give up" and quit living. Watching your videos have helped motivate me to at least begin to make an attempt to do better with my appearance … and just making myself do that has also helped with me beginning to feel better. Thank you for sharing your loss and your overcoming spirit with us. I am sure it has helped others as well.

Janice I’m 67 and spent 2016 to Feb 2021 in a terrible downward spiral with my health. It was starting s ketogenic lifestyle that turned it all around for me. In less than a month of this new way of eating most of debilitating aches and pains just evaporated. Over the rest of 2021 I lost 45 lbs. and begin to care about how I looked again. I had been vegetarian for the 15 years prior because I thought it was healthier.

The concept of connecting memories to what we were wearing at the time of the memory has occurred to me. I have started an EXCEL spread sheet based on that idea, maybe someday to flesh it out into a memoir/biography. I had an aunt who clerked at May D. & F. , who was very stylish. She was childless, so she bought the latest styles for my twin sister & me on special occasions. She definitely enhanced my interest in style.

Very interesting. So very sad that you lost your little one. Also loosing your Dad at such a young age and your beloved husband. You are still thriving and interested in the life you have and I admire you for that and looking good whilst you are doing it. All the best and stay safe and well. Uk viewer

I’m glad to hear you are a normal human being. I occasionally drop the f bomb also. I used to be a lot worse. I used to curse a lot when around m oldest granddaughter. She never repeated what I said, but she has the mouth of a sailor now. I have some young grandkids so I’ve cleaned up my mouth. My husband used to say I cursed like a truck driver. So with age comes wisdom. I also am the youngest of seven kids. So I understand the grabbing for food. I still eat fast, I’ve never been able to slow down. I love your style. And I am also almost 62. And I try to take care of myself. I had some health scares a few years ago. It’s amazing what does to your life. I’ve survived it all and think I’m a better person because of it. I don’t take life for granted anymore.

You are an inspiration to everyone, I am 69 this month and never go down stairs in a morning without basic makeup and hair done. You are correct in saying it makes you feel ready for the day. It is so wonderful to hear your story…you really are a inspiration to me. I had a similar childhood experience with an alcoholic father who also died young at 59. I also find so many of your opinions and attitudes to be right in line with mind…thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us👍

Your makeup and hair look exceptionally beautiful in this video. You're really glowing!! I had to laugh when you said some people thought you wore a wig. I would never have thought that. Thanks for sharing about your life as a child and as an adult. My mother's father was an alcoholic which created many hardships for her family so I do undestand the impact it has on family relationships and financial security. I did think you had been a model in your teens and twenties because you are so beautiful. I was surprised that you didn't model. My sister was 5'7" and took modeling through the Sears Charm School back in the 60's in Des Moines, Iowa. Do you recall that? A blast from the past!
