I understand your hesitation. I was was also hesitant because I ate low carb and lost 50 pounds, but I gained it all back as well. I don't think Keto is for everyone. Thank you for sharing! I’ve been Keto for two years- I tried it for two weeks, and I never went back! Unfortunately snacks have crept in, and I need to get back to no snacks between meals! I have lost half a stone and one more to go. I feel I really have to concentrate now, I’ve just hit 65 and even though I feel better and sleep better than I did in my forties, I REALLY want to get there before I get much older! One thing I did notice from your video is that you don’t eat much protein? Researching Keto over 50 I’ve learnt we need to increase protein, I’ve just upped mine to 100g a day, but reduced my fats a little. I’m finding having weight bearing exercise and fasting seems to work better for me. Best of luck on your journey!

I still need to lose about 50 lbs to reach my goal. I’ve been yo-yoing the same 5-7 pounds for a year, but I’m ok with that. I will continue to eat this way for the rest of my life and eventually my body will get under this set point. The best thing about this high fat diet is that it curbs hunger so well. The 3 tablespoons heavy cream might break your fast, but the collagen definitely breaks your fast. Caffeine is hard on adrenals. Keto foods have terrible ingredients. Need more veggies to raise your potassium. Raise your fat and you won’t be hungry. Adding big salads will help cut your cravings. As will 3-6 tablespoons of nutritional yeast. I lost 130 in about 9 months.

After having my first child at age 29, I fell into postpartum depression. From that point onward, i suffered from chronic depression. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. And started taking medication. But after about a decade of trying different medications and doses, I decided to stop my meds altogether because of the unpleasant side effects. Thing started changing when a friend of mine had just added me to a newly created keto Facebook group. After hitting an all-time high on the scale and suffering some additional health issues, I finally decided to give keto a try. Right away, i noticed some benefits of eating keto that actually suited my lifestyle quite well. Since living low carb, my thyroid values have also improved - so much so that even my doctor is now fine with me not taking medication.

I put a message out there that i was looking for someone who is my age that i could relate too. There are so so many keto channels out here that it is overwelming but very few my age of 55 this year. I have been a binge eatter at night, snacker, and also a sugar and carb lover....i crave it more of course when i feel i can never eat it again...lol...I am very disapointed in myself for i have backslid so bad from 160 to now of closer to 200 again...not sure for i have no scale but my clothing tells the story. It is a mental thing with me as well. Just not feeling motivated to even get out and walk. Then there was the feeling that i couldnt without haveing to physically go somewhere... I will start to watch your videos and possiablly get back into making them myself for i do have a youtube channel that i used to keep myself in check and it did help , just lost motivation over the past 1 1/2 year...i cant believe its been that long. Thank you and i thank the person who sent me to your channel...look forward to watching and learning again what it felt like to be excited for getting healthy.

@@TraceyKorol Tracey first step I did was removed all the stuff I could no longer eat and donated it to an older woman across the street from my house. The second thing I did was buy the stuff I could eat and planned my meals weekly buying my food fresh since I eat a lot of Veggies and meats of course. I make sure I have different types of substitutes in case I get a craving for something bad I just substitute it with something that tricks my tastebuds. Making a plan ahead to not overeat with the wrong foods. As far as exercise goes I broke my hip a few years ago and I have not been able to walk right since so what I do is chair exercise with fun videos I find on youtube. Low sodium. no tracking points or macros. some portion control but nothing that can't be eye-balled. This is not really a diet but a healthy eating plan that I can stick to and have. and you can eat bread but needs to be whole grain. :-)

Thank you for your video. I'm same age as you and following low carb diet myself however I was concerned that your not eating enough vegetables and whole nutritious foods? You seemed to be doing a more dirty keto than clean keto which is concerning at your age and not sustainable long term. It is not just about burning ketones, its feeding our microbiome with good and diversified nutrition as well for the long term. Are you looking for quick fix or sustain for life? You will still lose weight and burn ketones on a low carb diet but maybe add a few more greens, fermented foods and back off on all that cheese. :)

Congrats on your weight loss. I am a lifetime member of WW, but left them several years ago. I really think their plan is “out dated” and the weight comes off waaaay too slow if at all. I’ve been working with a registered dietician and have lost 35 lbs counting carbs since Dec. and I am 72 years old! My cholesterol is 145 and my glucose went from 105 to 85. A1C dropped to a normal level. Question ..... what app do you use to track your macros? Thanks.... CIndy in Bucks County.

I just got diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I just turned 50. I’m going to try carb counting! Can I ask how many carbs you try to stay under each day? Thanks!
@cynthiaryan29013 жыл бұрын
@@K1111A It’s per meal. Here is what she recommended for me. Breakfast 15-30 g of carbs; lunch/dinner 30-35 g; snacks (if you must!) 10-20g. Also, don’t count fat grams, rather count “saturated” fat . No more than 10g per day. You want this to be heart healthy. My personal tips are to STOP all eating when you have finished dinner. Kitchen is closed till breakfast. Also, always have some protein when eating carbs (dietician’s tip). If I must have a snack I usually have sugar free jello,or a 4 oz serving of 2% cottage cheese. Crazy tip that helps with no snacking..... I insert my mouth guard after brushing my teeth. It’s impossible to eat when you have a mouth guard in place! LOL. Good luck.

So happy for you that this is working for you! Thank you for sharing what you eat. You look great! I would love to try keto. Just curious, did you get the "Keto Flu"?

I'm happy to find your channel. I have to try the avocado toast chaffle. I have been struggling to get in the fats and I've been trying to lower my protein to fit my macros. I love coffee too and haven't measured my cream. I probably should do that. I'm 55. I started Keto in February and lost 10 lbs. Before that I was low carb and made chili with beans and froze a bunch of them. I can't eat it now. I'll have to try picking out the beans :(

Avocados cost about six dollars apiece here. So X on the avocado.

Thanks for sharing. I’m doing a program called Optavia and have lost 60lbs. I never thought Id see this weight. Anyway our plan is a mild form of ketosis also. We have to eat every 2-3hrs starting within 30 mins of waking and 6 times a day. 5 are like 150 calories small things. One is a meal. I’m wondering if eating smaller every 3hrs would help you not need the snacks and make you less hungry overall. Just an idea. We also need to drink a minimum 64oz water. That’s the hardest part for me but makes a difference! Anyway keep up the great work!! Oh as for coffee... try starbucks unsweetened cold brew. Omg its my fav. I use it with one of the optavia shake packets (you could prob do something similar)

Hi Bobbi I just recently found you again after one year. I don’t think I’m getting your notices however. It’s only been one that I’ve received in the last week maybe. Just hoping I’m not missing your messages.😊

I bought mine from Target for the same price as listed on Amazon. They cost around $10 and come in different colors.
