Hi Lorraine! So glad I found your channel. I’ve been on Ozempic for over 2 years now. I’ve lost 60 lbs and feel like I have a new life. I work out quite a bit and did so even when I was heavy. I’m a bicyclist and also lift weights, work out on my treadmill and spin bike. My husband and I walk a lot too. We are retired and have all the time we need to work out. I’m l,e you in that I don’t cook much. Breakfast is 6 oz liquid egg white omelet, heritage flakes 40 grams,Hudson Henry granola 32 grams and silk almond milk. I love breakfast. Oh, and coffee with caramel chocolate creamer. I don’t measure. Lunch is a Diet Coke and lean cuisine mushroom pizza. Dinner is also a lean cuisine. Sometimes I have a shake with bananas, strawberries, naked pea protein and peanut butter protein with silk milk. I also have a chocolate popsicle, no sugar added. I’ll be following up with you and appreciate you sharing. I hope you sharing. Take care. Laura.

Hi! I love the Premier protein ready to drink shakes! I put some in my coffee in the morning instead of creamer. Right off the bat I'm getting about 10-15 g of protein in the morning.

Great info Laraine! Since I'm T2D, I'm extra careful about carbs, so high protein is my way of life! For breakfast, I love Red's Egg'wiches (in the frozen section). They are a bit pricey, but we buy them at Costco for a better deal. I love Chomps meat sticks and Archer meat sticks, which we also find at Costco. They make great on-the-go snacks. I eat Fage Greek yogurt for a good protein boost, too. I buy the plain, and if I want a little flavor, I put a a few drops of Mio water enhancer in. I like the Fit Crunch protein bars (also at Costco), but they are a sometimes treat, since they have a few more carbs than I need.

Thanks Mindy! Thanks for the tips! I like the Fage - haven't tried the Fit Crunch but I have seen them in stores. Thanks for watching!

I see the importance of tracking on WW but I agree, I am so done with tracking food. You are right, it keeps you focused on food. Like you have previously said, these medications are not bulletproof and you need to eat healthy.This has been helpful.

I just received a Ninja Creami and am enjoying experimenting with making lots of different high protein low sugar/calorie frozen items! Nothing like ice cream for lunch!
@thedownsized6 ай бұрын
We loooove our Ninja Creami! Although I find when I eat just that for lunch as a protein powder / fairlife milk / sugar free jello pudding combination, I get hungry later in the afternoon. Maybe because its so blended that it digests easier? So now I make it an after dinner treat. We are still experimenting with it!

I have a food twist for you,people who have full dentures have a hard time chewing many things and yes I have dentures now for 2 years. Ask someone you may know with them it is as big a deal as counting calories. For me soft and well cut up foods are a must or your dentures will be falling out even if you paste them in with a cream adhesive.

That does add an extra challenge - what do tips do you have
@michaelclanton11526 ай бұрын
@thedownsized naturally all meals are limiting with breakfast it can be oatmeal with soft fruit like peaches or strawberry,blackberry but Raisen wound even be hard to chew but a prune would be larg enough and maybe put on the side not in as 1 example. I eat fried eggs no yoke with quinoa a little cheese and balsamic drizzle and sometimes cut up broccoli.

Swapping the eggs for lean ground turkey can make it lunch or dinner with adjusting portions to your hunger and calorie needs

I pre cook what meat I eat for the most part because my cane corso dog eats 1# of chicken breast a day with some dry food. I cook 15#of chicken breast 2 x a month just for her and freeze it. I cut me turkey or chicken breast across grain in 3/8"thick slices for me and about the same for ground turkey.

I do not use a microwave but an air fryer to heat food and many times I put the cut up cold meet in a 6"fry pan with 3 tbsp of water and cover it with a lid and in just 3 minutes it it hot ,ready drain water and serve. For you it could heat meat for taco or tortilla...

I am a pescatarian (vegetarian plus fish & seafood), so it is more of a challenge. Eggs, cheese, salmon, shrimp, beans & rice are my main sources of protein. I’ve add protein shakes. Was the premiere protein hot chocolate in the aisle with protein shakes, with hot chocolate, or did you buy it online?
@thedownsized6 ай бұрын
Bought online - we have a link here: thedownsized.org/

Laraine I need your help. I was just watching a Utuber I like and she mentioned complex carbs. I have pretty much cut out carbs for my first 5 weeks of my Zephound except those that are in the foods I am eating. I am not eating rice, potatoes, peas, etc. How do i incorporate them (the complex carbs) and what exactly are they? Will doing this increase my weight lose?
@thedownsized6 ай бұрын
Complex carbohydrates, which are found in many plant-based foods, are more nutritious than simple carbohydrates from sugary foods. They contain fiber and starches, and take longer to digest, releasing energy slowly and steadily throughout the day. Complex carbs are things like brown rice, Fruits, Whole grains, and Starchy vegetables: White and sweet potatoes, peas, and corn. Simple carbs are Candy, Honey, Soda (regular), Sugar (white, brown), White rice, White pasta. Personally I don't cut out any food groups. I do try to avoid sugar. We need carbs for energy and fiber. Try to focus on protein first - always eat your protein first, and then other foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, ect. I have noticed in the past that when I cut out carbs, I lose weight. But then as soon as I start eating carbs again, the weight comes back. Try to eat a variety of foods, just avoid junk food, sugar, and stuff like that.
