Nice video, Idk if your interested but two things which I would recommend if you looking for an anchor and bumpers, is the the Box anchor is really good, kind of pricey but works really well (can be bought on wakemakers) and also the Mission delta bumpers. They are really nice because they can adjust up and down really easy for docking or if your going side to side with another boat. Those pieces of gear have made a big difference on our Malibu. But I just thought I’d post it. Nice video👍 have fun on the water!

Right on, Tim. We have a lot of the same gear on the boat. It always amazes me when I'm on other people's boats and they are not prepared for any accident or situation that could occur. Especially having a First Aid kit. I always follow the rule = it's better to have it & not need it, than need it & not have it. I do avoid using any kind of towels because once they're wet, they're useless. So we use microfibers to keep the interior dry & Sham Wow's for people to "towel off" with when they are getting back in the boat. Then you can just ring them out & they are good to go over and over.
@wake_mann3 жыл бұрын
Haha, seasoned veterans. Good idea on the sham wows, may have to steal yhe idea from you.
@ryanshimabukuro32833 жыл бұрын
@@wake_mann Go ahead and steal it, haha! I make that suggestion to anyone I ride with. The only thing that sucks about the Sham Wow's is that they don't last long. I cut 1 big sheet into 2 pieces & typically go through 2 sheets a year. And don't drop them in the water because they sock up water really fast & sink. If I had my choice, I'd just use good quality microfibers for everything you want to wipe up wet. Have been using the same set since 2007.

The absorber product I will talk about in the next video seems like it would work well for this.
@ryanshimabukuro32833 жыл бұрын
@@wake_mann right on. Some people use the typical chamois to wipe down but I don't like them because it "grabs & sticks" too much when trying to wipe down stuff, especially gelcoat.
@wake_mann3 жыл бұрын
The absorber is a bit like that so I don't think i will be using it on gel coat a lot but will use it to wipe up seats quite a bit.

What’s your favorite Montana lake? We’ve been on Flathead, south side (Polson). Haven’t been up there in some time, but would love your input.
@wake_mann2 жыл бұрын
My favorite Montana lake for scenery is either Flathead or Bighorn, but I treasure consistent riding conditions with warmer water temps more so thats why I mostly stick to Bighorn Lake. I grew up going to Georgetown Lake which is also beautiful but shallow and cold.

Tim, I use a soft tool bag (like Milwaukee or dewalt power tool bags) to hold my first aid kit, tools, and small cleaning supplies. It’s great because it’s small enough that I can store it anywhere on my Scarab 165 and won’t scratch/damage my interior if I need to grab it in a hurry.

Do you carry any spray bottles of vinegar/water mix( for clean up)? It works good on gelcoat at end of trip wipe down and good for cleaning glass. Last year I bought a drill prop attachment that works great, for slow speed handling, like in tight marinas, even in wind. We like to tube, and have a 3person thing... but i dont like lugging it around all day so I bring my 20v blower to quickly inflate/ deflate it. How do you avoid docks? Seems like even tho I make sure everyone has emptied their bladders before we shove off, there is always someone who needs to pee a few hours later. Again no play this weekend, Volleyball in Bridger, baseball in Billings...but we are going to check out some land near belfry in between games... not good for a lake, but pretty. I think its near the Robertson Draw area, close to the Wyo line.( there is a bunch of it for sale) Are you still playing on Tongue? I almost took a resident deputy position there( i did not like old fwp warden tho). Those fish and game guys use spotting scopes from their cabin to harass boaters for ticky tac stuff.
@wake_mann3 жыл бұрын
Yes, always have 2 spray bottles full of vinegar/water mix ready to wipe down after each trip. Drill prop sounds interesting but I'm comfortable at low speeds at this point. No tubes on my boat, haha. I'm pretty particular about people get on the boat and when we come in to the dock. We really only ever come in for #2 which is rare, pee goes in the lake. I've looked at some of those Belfry parcels, nothing good for a lake in my price range. Yes, should be heading to Tongue this weekend. I spent the last 2 weekends working on our lot in Lovell getting it ready for the camping season.

Funny how similar the stuff you put on your boat is to what we do. Down to the blankets and towels. Just wondered if you require flares down there. I am in BC and we have to carry up to date flares on any lake that has a width of more than I believe 5 k.
@wake_mann3 жыл бұрын
No flares required here, but interesting to hear that. Some states in the US require a spotter and other only require a mirror to give you an idea on differences.

@@wake_mann We don't need the flags even though I think they are a good idea. I have an old SAN 230 that I mainly use for surfing. Built my own plastic cutting board/suction cup wave maker for a way less than the various other market ones. I pretty much have it dialed in to know where to place it to shape the wave. I would like a newer boat since I am getting tired of all the work involved, but my grandkids love the big wave and I like it too. Lots of push. Better than most including newer MC's and poorly set up old G23's. But it is paid for and doesn't owe me anything.

Hi Nolan, I'm not entirely sure as I did not do the winterization on this but I think its simply because the dealer likes to keep it full of antifreeze as opposed to running antifreeze through the system and then pulling the plugs like i normally do.
@toddhewett10273 жыл бұрын
It does not hurt to fill it up. We had a spell where we went 96hrs below zero... But he keeps his boat inside, so it was fine... but the seller may have anticipated the boat spending winter out side and wanted to protect it... pretty cool if you ask me.
